Any progress on arrow cart camera hacking?
can you tell if they are hacking or just useing a diffrent screen size then you makeing it possible for them to see something you cant?

Yeah, the “zoom hack” or “windowed mode hack” is not actually a hacking. I really wish people would stop using that word to describe every exploit, glitch, or issue. :T

Right now it is a real issue with one particular tier 1 server that is infamous for tolerating the use of arrow cart hacks by their guilds and players.
This would be the server where guilds have kicked players out where cheating on ACs has been proven. Most incidents of it are not actual hacking.
Plus AC hacking has been seen to be done by players on all servers its just that some choose to make complaints through the proper channels.

actually, yeah, you can. i’ve been on the recieving end of both, and there’s a pretty big difference. a different screen size lets people target a wider area, while the hak lets them target a higher area. when attacking up onto a wall, the center of the circle can’t, legitimately, be beyond the edge of the wall. so if you’re on the back railing of a wall(or somewhere similar), and the circle’s centered on you, that’s a hack. furthermore, if someone sets up a cart next to the gate, and uses the little gap above the gate to be able to target anything inside of the gate, that’s not a hack.
furthermore, i’ve tested out windowed mode, and while you can see a wider area, you can’t really target anywhere you can’t target in full screen mode. sure, more of the field is displayed for you on either side, but walls still cause the camera to zoom in and block your vision in the same way they do in jumping puzzles.

Whoa! That’s not right.
Lets be clear. There are two things that get confused:-
1/ ‘Windowed mode’ (or in my case triple screen Eyefinity) allows you to change the aspect ratio to give a wide ‘panoramic’ view. It doesn’t work quite so well as you might expect because of a distortion problem (but that’s another issue)
2/ ‘Zoom hack’. This is a third-party add-on to the client ( a true hack) that allows the normal view to be zoomed out beyond normal limits. When used vertically, you get a bird’s eye view of towers, keeps etc and can see over walls clearly.
- doesn’t allow you to see any more than you might see by simply turning around (panning). It offers no advantage.
- is an exploit that makes it possible to target enemies that can’t fight back.

That’s not true. If you make the window small enough you can see onto and behind walls. A thing you do not manage in any “normal” high:width ration.
See https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions/WvW-Suggestion-Restrict-view-angle-in-WvW/2158274
for some window mode screenshoots that GIVE you an advantage.
The windowed mode and dual/triple monitor set up allows you to see and reach places that you normal cannot, this is a confirmed fact.
Zoom hack is also what people call it you intentionally glitch to get the widened view or use the method mentioned above. What that glitch is, I won’t say. When people say “zoom hack” they are typically talking about those two things and not the actual hacking program.

I’m not going to argue with people who simply hold an opinion and refuse to let go.
Especially those who quote me out of context.
If you really want to know the truth about camera hacks you have to dig a little deeper. It’s up to you.

We’re just discussing something. You either prove yourself and debate the issue or you walk away and act like you’re the one that “holds an opinion and refuses to let go.”

No, you don’t. People have admitted to using the windowed mode, dual/triple monitor, and zoomed out glitch view. They have proved it, recorded it, tested it, done it, reported it and showed others how to do it. It is by far the most popular, easiest, and non-bannable way to get the view. There is no hacking that is needed for this. Yes, there are people who do use hacking programs, but the majority of players are not.

Truthiness lol
I’ve seen Blackgate posters claim arrowcart hacks were used on keeps where no siege other than rams were used. Anyone remember gold farmers and bots? Arenanet knows how to ban cheaters.

Windowed mode should not be allowed to be used in WvW. I don’t know if its technically possible though – probably not.
