Will there be any repurcussions for those who are using the signet of vampirism?

Will there be any compensation for all the pointless seige wasted this week?
A roll back of some sorts.

There needs to be a in-game server wide message warning player’s to stop doing the exploit every 30 – 60 mins. As its still happening, this is ruining WvW untill the 4th

NA players have been using this since the new healing skills came out, and it has not been a problem here.

It’s not even a big deal, no one in NA goes out of their way to spam it. We don’t have necro blobs running around, we just play like we always have, if there happens to be a necro in your group then sure it might be used once or twice but it isn’t game breaking.

EU are last to learn of this, and first to abuse it, it seems. I seriously forgot all about this skill until reading these late-to-the-party EU threads. This ‘issue’ frankly ranks at the bottom of the list of things that need fixing in WvW.

If the enemy is running a bunch of necros just go out there and vaporize them with your hammer train, they won’t be able to defend themselves. Then throw ballista’s on their corpses.

If you record a short documentary of the person taking advantage of the exploit in question, write an essay on the subject and submit them along with his or her written confession and a scan of their passport to exploits@arena.net there is a chance they will receive a moderately harsh finger-wagging as punishment. If found guilty, of course.

No. We simply don’t use the cheat, we play how we always have. Yet you have the courage to display some kind of twisted moral superiority while bad mouthing others, funny.

I literally forgot about the Necromancers signet heal until these new threads that just popped up now, and I’m certain the rest of NA forgot too.

Almost certainly no repercussions. They’re not even bothering to fix it until the next update!

If you weren’t sure how little Anet cares about WvW before, you can be sure now. We have here an enormously game breaking exploit that affects the core of how Anet intends you play the game (PPT) — yet they’ll just casually wait for the next update schedule to fix it.

Meh the problem is never using it yourself or your own server, you can control that. There is one server in particular( AM) and they have been using it all week. I did not even know about the cheat/exploit. I’m sure you saw how devestating it is in large groups?
Our T3 garri doors melted in 10 seconds, inner was gone in 10 seconds and there goes your hard work to upgrade.

Back on topic, I doubt they’ll do anything even if its a server wide or group abuse it. But I hope most server communities can take a vow to avoid such cheating, it gives them a bad image anyway.

I don’t know how long this exploit has been around but that mesmer chaos armor bug was caught pretty early and it got fixed quickly, what happened with this situation?

The mesmer fall trait affected PvE, there’s your answer on why that got fixed quickly and this won’t.

Has anybody tested whether the skill works to the same effect on world bosses?

As a necro commander(doing it this way since way before season one so don’t say anything about fotm-signet-necro) I can say that I personally don’t use it. I know this bug since shortly after a-net introduced the signet. Guess most of our commanders didn’t and now it’s “the new thing” since 2-3 days. All I can say about that: I personally don’t like it and I don’t use it and I tell the necros in my zerg to not use it. I want to improve as a commander and it just doesn’t help me to avoid the challenge of a well defended tower by using some bugged signet. I know that only some of our commanders use it, so please don’t take say that every commander on AM(as our server got mentioned in most of the topics about this bug) uses it. These guilds/commanders don’t use the signet for sure: [ILL](my guild;)), [AvA], most of the “smaller” guilds/commanders.

Typically ANet has taken a harsh stance against exploiters and this bug is a very obvious exploit.

Then again it has been around for a while now and has been used on a smaller scale for weeks now. Abaddon’s Mouth seems to be the server that used it excessively since yesterday. Maybe they’re hoping to make a point? Maybe they’re ensuring it gets fixed? And what about all the individuals and guilds that have been using it for weeks prior?

And then who do you punish? The Necros who were asked/encouraged to use this exploit by the zerg? The entire zerg? The commanders? Even if all of their actions didn’t really take place in game (rather than on TS/ Ventrilo/Mumble)?

It’s a difficult call to make and it’s going to feel unfair to toward whoever it hits.

I knew this bug a few weeks and I saw many groups of different EU Servers using it. No answer on reports. Thx AM for doing that so it gets actually fixed. Its like with bugs and cheats in shooters. There is no fix till someone posts on the forums and or make a vid about it so they have to.

It’s the best thing in WvW atm, thank you Anet. We can spend less time on stupid sieges, really clever use of game mechanics!

It’s a shame that AM are taking advantage of this. The whole of eternal battlegrounds was wooden most of the day because people were in a mad frenzy of exploiting this bug, and we (Gandara) were even outnumbered for a few hours at prime time simply because people didn’t want to play because there was no point.

I doubt anet cares a whole lot. They will warn people not to use it, then proceed without any sanctions.

You were in last place in terms of points before this and its the only reason you’re ticking high atm. Pretty much every commander on Gandara is discouraging the use of the signet because they don’t want to give the server a bad name, its just the few people that don’t listen that use it. Where as AM has organised blobs of necros intentionally using it, I know not everyone on AM is doing it, but a vast majority are.

I play in Gandara and PvP has been scarce this week due to AM and GH running away from anything they dont outnumber 5:1.

The difference is blob size, and the bigger the blob the more of these bug abusing necros you find. Ive seen Gandara use this signet too (zzzzz) but is it any surprise to you, really is it?

There is no supply game, no tactical ploys, no responding to scouts because there is either no point or not enough time for it to make a shred of difference when a T3 keep can be back-to-back signet spammed down before any response can be made.

Yeah…of course THAT is the reason…i guess a reason could be that only 10 people of you play on the BL. Maybe.

And I can say exact the same.
We dont use it, just a few of us and so on. “Pretty much every Commander”? We have Screenshoots of your zerg who use the signet. So don’t describe your server as a holy one.
(I dont say that there are Commanders that dont want to use it)

We had maybe 7 Necros in a 60 man zerg…yeah an entire zerg full off necros is that…

I’m not saying Gandara is a holy server, I did say a few idiots use the signet and don’t listen. That isn’t the case with AM, a lot more necros exploit the signet compared to Gandara or GH.

unless necros are just conveniently running the signet which I highly doubt then there’s no way this wasn’t intentional.

I’m a bit surprised that a bug that can flip a T3 Keep in a couple minutes or less, with nothing but a bugged skill, doesn’t warrant a hot fix. /s

Since this bug has been around for weeks I think we should actually thank Abaddon’s Mouth for abusing it so extensively as it forced ANet to take measures.

Who knows, they might have ignored it for longer if AM hadn’t gone so balls-to the wall with it.

The fault doesn’t just lie with the necros activating the signet, it’s every person who intentionally auto attacks to trigger the leech effect.

Of course, the necros are the easiest to single out, and if AM’s players are serious about opposing exploits they should collect info on which of their players who are using it and send that to the GMs. I commanded for a couple hours for Gandara and didn’t once see it triggered by anyone on my side.

Just stop whining, and start fighting.
Crydara and other servers use this signet long time ago. AM since 2-3 days…

So typical to see zero acknowledgement from AM players that it it’s simply wrong to abuse exploits like this. Fits right in with a play-for-loot, no respect for opponents, anti-PvP mentality.

Its gonna get the same repercussions skyhammer exploiters got in spvp. Guess what that was

I couldn’t care less about ppt or lack of it. but do go and try to find a decent fight when all your enemies are together in one megablob flipping keeps in 30 seconds and porting away after they do it. fun stuff huh?

blobadons still exploiting, 30+ zerg just run through gandara border, 30 sec’s a keep.
You wonder why no one defending? because there no point, siege does nothing to massive blobs getting through anything in less than 30 seconds. stack on door, heals thrown down and through door happy days for skill less exploiters

Just keep your expectations low, hard to get dissapointed then..

Immagine 25 necro’s spamming the skill with another 25 dps on your reinforced gate and not bothering to build siege or golems becaust the gate melts in seconds.

It’s disappointing to see this bug knowing that it already happened last year with Leeching Venoms.
Let’s hope they will be more careful with life siphoning abilities next time.

You thought you know abaddons play style? dps and necros from keep to keep? Then is must be easiest thing in the world to destroy the AM-Blob, just wait in the keep and fight there. But No, “we dont like blobs” (->which are stronger than our one ).
