Teaming up is a valid strategy and as someone from JQ said above it’s the reason there’s 3 servers – to keep one in check if need be. Kudos to BP and AR for doing it, it made the weekend a lot of fun. I don’t know if it continues into the week, but I hope it does.

I apologize for the attitude of my fellow Ebay players. Ebay has indeed come a long way since the old days and is much more organized than it was. Skill and organization does indeed play part of the reason we do well.

HOWEVER, it is also true that we easily have more population than either BP or AR and possibly as much as both combined. We CERTAINLY have more night coverage and have proved it many times.

Alot of Ebay is insulting and dismissive towards BP and AR right now. Alot of Ebay says that we are just more organized, have faster response times, are more skilled. Keep in mind that these are the same small % of Ebay players who are actively trolling, bragging, and thumping their chest. As such they are not very credible.

I thank Borlis Rock for your united opposition as it has made the game fun and you have proved that you can regularly beat us in our prime time when working together. You have also proven that you do not have the numbers that we have at night doubly so.

Shame on the Ebay who are here trolling and thumping chest when we gained 90% of our lead with BP and AR asleep and unable to match our numbers. That is not a satisfying victory.

EBay has lost in T5 to BP. When their numbers don’t show up, EBay is beatable in this tier. They also talk a lot of smack for a server unable to dominate enough to move up and stay there.

In fairness: once, the first time after they dropped, when I’m guessing they were pretty bummed and didn’t have good population. They’re beatable in individual fights, but overall they’ve dominated since then. Their failure to move up says more about T4 and this goofy glicko system.

They match us or more during the day, but even both of them do not match our population during the night. The difference in resistance they are able to provide late night and early morning was, pardon the pun, a night and day difference between the resistance we could provide during the day.

I am always in TS and I am one of the ones that drags my guild into TS when they are not. When things started going ugly on Saturday I switched out of EBG (so as not to waste a que spot) and literally stopped what I was doing and got in touch with my guild and later guild leader so that we could do our best to stem the tide. Tried to warn the people in EBG but they laughed and then 2-3 hours later lost everything in EBG.

The time I can commit varies considerably sometimes, but my commitment to WvW is pretty large and when I can I spend entirely too much time on this game primarily in WvW.

They realize that our TS server is filled with 200-300 people while yours has 50 on a good day. Heck AR had a zerg in our BL going for garrison….ya know what happened don’t ya?

Yes Ebay took every keep in AR BL in 15 minutes.

As for what happened in tier4….maybe if your server ever gets there you’ll understand what goes on.

Your alliance basically allowed BP to pass you in rating next week instead of improving your own. You had about a 9k lead on BP now you will end up trailing them by about 2k(there is still time to save yourself). Ebay has a 100k rating lead on whoever finishes second this week and its pretty much evened out there for the past few weeks.

It’s simple Dio…there’s a cap for how many players each side can have. So if AR and BP are both ganging up on us, and assuming AR is at half capacity and BP is at full capacity, you’re outnumbering us by 50%.

That’s precisely the point, though. T5 is the transitional tier between coverage and primetime play. T4 is where you need coverage and numbers to survive. AR and BP simply don’t have the coverage to match Ebay outside of primetime. We are the biggest of the casual WvW servers, and they are the smallest of the serious WvW servers. You can’t really square that circle with out tampering with the server demographics/populations. As it stands the ranking system won’t allow for any of these 3 servers to move out of the tier, because BP and AR are too well matched, and Ebay can’t perform well enough to push out because they get hit by a 3rd place server that is doing just as well as the 2nd place server.

This is pretty spot on. BP and AR have demonstrated the ability to be just as organized and play just as well, but there is just really no point outside of the recent bout where both focused Ebay. Being on equal skill footing but lesser numbers still results in a loss.

The fact that Ehmry could even hang on while focused by both shows very very clearly the population/coverage difference as Ehmry would have the lowest or at best a middling potentials during the day, yet would achieve top potentials by a good margin at night. If it was skills there would not be such a pointed difference.

But yeah, BP and AR have been looking pretty shabby compared to this weekend. I know yall can do better. Wassup guys? Yall burn out just because the event is over? I much preferred yall giving us all sorts of kitten.

Actually, AR and BP are not “teaming up” outside of a special event a few nights ago where the two did work together to wipe EB off the Eternal map. That event lasted a few hours only.

I’ll let the commanders/guild leaders involved elaborate (or not) on any further “collaboration”. ;-)

And props to ALL servers, including EB, for partaking. It has made a stale matchup much more interesting, and definitely a shout out to all of EB. There’s no quit in those guys, and I think everyone is having a great time.

As far as I can tell from the posts on our forum, the taking of BP BL (which took less than 10 minutes for all 3 keeps? … props on the excellent coordination, as usual) occurred in the early / mid-afternoon (depending on your time zone). I don’t want to get into the numbers game, but I can say for certain that I’m never on at that time.

To then hold that advantage into the evening is trivial for a server as well coordinated as EBay, even if we were to be throwing double numbers at you. Also, consider that a good portion of our population logs on, sees a double digit PPT, and goes to Southsun.

Reasons? Excuses? Semantics. I had a blast for the hour I was able to squeak into my schedule tonight, and though I’d certainly like to see our server performing better, on a micro-scale I couldn’t be happier. After finals are done this week, I’ll really be pushing for further improvement on the BP side

I do have a question though … do you (EBay) think that the current effort level that you are putting out is sustainable? I know that for a number of these weeks you’ve probably been playing with the “safety on,” lacking any real challenge. Is this a glimpse of your true power unfolded? If so, I’ll say what I’ve said before … if/when Glicko gets fixed, Tier 4:

Must not have played much of the weekend. They wiped Ebay back to the spawn on Saturday and Sunday both. Though most of Sunday Lowlands keep held with all walls and doors down thanks to the power of massed arrow carts.

Ebay has likely been running at 80% most of this week honestly. The big guilds kicked it into overdrive to compensate for some people being gone (alot of people dislike the Arrow Cart situation atm) when you guys really let us have it, but your offensives actually drew those very people back into WvW for the most part.

Ebay likely has the potential for T4, but we would not sustain the level of tactics necessary nor do we have the population to really compete. We are outclassed at night just as badly as you guys are right now. Between that and the “lets get a new paper shiny and forget to defend the T3 shiney” that all of Ebay, even the big guilds, seem to suffer from regularly we would get destroyed.

In short, we can sustain the level of effort we put out now but you’re seeing select coordinated efforts and our failures are in the long term efforts and decisions. We can siege and take things with coordination just fine. Don’t get too impressed of a view from the showey acts when we regularly neglect the foundation.

If we were as good at all the other stuff as we were at taking things when we put our minds to it then we might could hack T4, barely. This exact trait is why Ebay is generally known for strong opening nights, but we taper off after that.

I agree, we do not belong in the same tier. If you ignore the Ebay trolls and read the posts from the more respectable, mature players on their server even they admit to being able to field as many, or more, players than AR and BP combined at any given time. On top of that they tend to make really big, strong pushes on a few select days very late at night which gives them huge point boosts. I’ve never felt compelled to post in threads like these until this week, but as an Ebay WvW’er, this week has been eye-opening.

I never really disrespected BP or AR until this week, and a lot of my friends and guildies feel the same. I find this “alliance” to be such a cheesy, desperate move. The fact that BPAR, despite this, are right on track to lose this week by their customary amount is hilarious justice at it’s best.

And you know why? Ebay had gotten complacent at the top. But this week, you kitten us ALL off. ALL of our guilds are putting in extra work this week, and lots of it. I have put in extra time this week like never before, as have basically everybody I know. Most of our commanders have really stepped it up this week, and I believe this has in fact been EBay’s finest hour. This shows what we are made of, and why we should advance.

About the numbers – last encounter I had before logging last night – I had been roaming and solo capping stuff on my ranger, and as I am crossing a bridge, about a dozen BP’s are moving up the road ahead of me. They see me and stop. I wait for them. They start inching closer, and I wait. Once in range, I fired a few shots, sent the pet, and began to charge – but they all turned around and ran away. I guess I outnumbered them…

Those 3 servers are not going to remain in the same place forever.
And if AR and BP have to team up to fight EB, they do not belong in their tier, period.

I agree, we do not belong in the same tier. If you ignore the Ebay trolls and read the posts from the more respectable, mature players on their server even they admit to being able to field as many, or more, players than AR and BP combined at any given time. On top of that they tend to make really big, strong pushes on a few select days very late at night which gives them huge point boosts. This keeps the causal WvW players away because the inequality is really quite boring.We have clearly hit a ceiling with a reject T4 server, and considering we scrapped our way up from T6 we are greatly outmatched here.

All this has made WvW pretty dull, and to top that off Ebay has proven classless in their role as the dominant server. I’m glad to see that players from other servers have also noticed and I hope the reputation of “most loser group of winners” sticks with Ebay. BP has its share of forum warriors that act disrespectful towards Ebay, but they are a minority and a very, very, small part of the server. I regularly read disrespectful things from Ebay towards BP in the forums. Hey, Ebay is winning and you all have the right to brag about it, but constantly putting down the other servers, saying they are all unskilled, that they are dumpstered, etc. is classless and makes you the most loser of winners that I’ve come up against.

Perspective is a really funny thing. From where I sit EB holds the trash talking trophy. It’s almost funny to hear you claim to be so sensitive. You lost from neglect, of all things, and that’s what made your ears/eyes bleed when someone dared to do what you do routinely: Crow.
