Asuras & Standard Enemy Models
I prefer seeing what the opponent looks like. I tend to run into the same roamers multiple times in a day and being able to recognize who I am fighting helps a lot because you will learn their fighting style.
But I don’t see any reason not to include the standard enemy model option for players that want it.
Personally I haven’t had this problem for a long time, but thats mostly because I’ve been fighting against and as an Asura since launch.
There should absolutely be an option for this for people who do struggle with it, I can’t see a good reason against it. Hell, I imagine having standard models rendered rather than individual races would help lag for people with older computers in large fights, and we want to make WvW accessible to as many people as possible (this might be completely wrong, just speculation :P)
so this thread is mostly about pvp. Have u posted in the pvp threads?

Did you even read the op? You can already select standard enemy models in PvP, he’s requesting that anet adds the option to WvW.
so… why not just put ‘high quality models’ to low/lowest when in wvw… its does pretty much the same thing as the tick box.
I use it for playing thief in a blob.

That’s… not even close. Look at ranked arena models who all have nice standard armour and faces. Then look at low Q wvw models. Those models are like placeholders that are just placeholders. Their animations are all the same. For instancr, if they are ressing somebody they look like they are punching a wall while holding a GS with one hand. The entire point of my suggestion was to read animations better, not destroy them.
Asura the master race.
But really, this is a game design… oversight… I would say. Asuran size sliders should have been somewhere between just below max size and just above max size on the other end. A max size Asura is about the size of a small human, which should have universally been about the smallest player size allowed in the game. But instead, they allow the small size Asura to be tiny.
