BT didn’t make the metagame. ANet did. WvW rules are such that zergs win and timezone spread wins and higher population wins. And that’s that. It’s not even about the “major guilds”, come on, most of them just zerg around and don’t even bother doing anything special (no need for it, game doesn’t push you to maximize efficiency but timezone spread and pop).

If you deleted everyone from BT and filled the server with lvl40 pugs so queue is full 24/7, the server would still be #1.

I spent a few weeks in their TS and how they were hoping BT would come top so they could fight them again in T1. They were all about the english speaking empire versus the french and the russian.

Just look where they are now. The truth is, they don’t like the competition, they just take the easy way out as soon as they have to make any kind of effort to fight.

Honestly, I was neutral at the beginning, but now I can see why so many people hate them. Their TS isn’t particularly light on the racist jokes and attacks either. Some great players, but most of them should keep their mouth shut.

I’ll pass on the fighting this week also. Pointless.

I spent a few weeks in their TS and how they were hoping BT would come top so they could fight them again in T1. They were all about the english speaking empire versus the french and the russian.

That’s interesting because once they switched to BT, ingame chat went like this: “UK and Russians let’s beat the French” (I thought they’re US mostly?)

What’s also interesting is that I didn’t notice anyone on BT cared much about nationalities. We were not against “the French” but against Vizunah server.

Now I’m awake again, fun night last night when we had 6+ commanders running over everything in all borderlands and Eternal. Vizunah put up a decent fight for a while but I think the hour late reset sapped alot of players on all 3 servers.

Got almost 60 badges last night, thanks Vizunah and Desolation

Happens to alot of servers Krosan, the whole WvW system is borked derped and broken.

Tier 1 EU is a complete and utter joke.
Tier 2 servers dont even want to join Tier 1 as most of the EU ladder doesnt have off peak hour guilds / players and are tired of getting nightcapped without putting that weight on members to skip sleep to defend towers and keeps.
Ive put in 600 hours in WvW so far, and my enjoyment stopped since last patch.
Soon to be roflstomped by carebears made my vieuw change a whole lot.

Best days of WvW are over for me and time to move on soon.
Maybe they can change it again when WvW gets the attention it needs to have, but currently its just an arcade minigame with no real purpose anymore.

I had fun with my guild against the [RG] red guard last week there was a great fight with them near the redwater camp (not sure wich border). You guys know what you are doing and I like to see that. Later that week moral dropped, bad things happened and we could not bring up much of a fight… Good luck Blacktide and Vizunah Square I think most of Desolation WvW community is out for this week and that means if I am not mistaking we drop from T1. If so I would love to face the guys from [RG] again thanks all. It was (mostly) fun while it lasted!

I really feel for Blacktide, super wvw server or not I was really looking forward to the fight last week. Unfortunately it all turned to crap last weekend for reasons that have been commented to death already.

It would of been great to of fought you guys with our full strength, sadly this did not happen. Still thoroughly enjoyed fighting the likes of Nug, Cir, Xoac, FG and many others. Red Guard you guys are just brutal.

As has been said previously currently we do not have the strength to compete in tier 1, hopefully this will change in the future. In the meantime maybe another server can come up and give BT some sort of challenge.

may the NA ladder is more h24 challenging than EU ladder that not a surprise ^^

For those major guilds who dont like RUIN on blacktide its easy to handle it, just go back to far shiverpeaks, desolation, or any other lower tier server.

Now there lies the problem! Even that won’t work.
Imagine a guild of brave people who are all after a challenge, that willingly downgrade themselves to a lower tier to work themselves up from there.

A week before they actually do it, they will be joined by the very same people they killed a few days earlier. Standing next to them cheering loudest.

Well the sooner Desolation goes to T2 the better imo, T1 is just no fun at the moment against Blacktide, its like the old question of what the fox hunts when all the chickens have been eaten. I’ll be skipping on WvW this week in the hope that we drop back to T2 which seems more fun. I’m afraid that BT players may well find they have nobody to fight this week

Blacktide is the best WvW server from week, I can’t see anybody who would be able to stand against us(both ladders). This was our goal since the time when we were 26th server and all of the guilds were leaving us. Talking about droping to tier2 is kinda pathetic, t1 is not fun because Vizunah and Desolation is not able to do anything, it’s all about you guys. Only you’re able to make this tier alive and competitive. T2 seems more fun… well, it’s still much lower level too so what is your choice?
I’m really tired of this talking that tier1 is boring, what did you expect? easy fights like 12 hours a day and then everybody goes to bad? Give us some resistance! If the things look like now in future, BT will be able to make a one week completly off from WvW without any danger of losing 1st place.
Btw. I’d really like to see Elona Reach in t1 again, fights in t2 were very nice against them and maybe some of SFR server Just a little suggestion

I just want to make a fast statement to this.
Especially the last part.
It is NOT our intention to get to T1. We are happy to play in T2 or lower.
We dont have the Player quantity to play 24H against good WvW Guilds and Servers.
Respect to some Guilds on Blacktide, youre playing very good but are not invincible
Most of the players on ER are PVE. There are only a few real hardcore PvP guilds on ER. If you dont believe me, watch the stats for this weekend after reset. Arborstone decided to skip the new PVE content and focus on WvW. Its not the same for the ER. Most of the players are camping in Fraktals and dying in the new dungeons.
We will never have the quantity of WvW players unless some good WvW guilds join ER. There are so many casual WvW player without any skill/equip/experience/level on the run. Its nearly impossible to get these guys organized. Anyone is doing what he wants. Noone is listening to tips and hints for equip skills and gameplay. Very often insulting/flaming each other for the problems. Some big “WvW” wannabe guilds fell into pieces or lost many players to other server. (Equinox EQNX, Die Templer DT)
But a few of us are waving ER flag and hold position. We are happy to play in T2 or lower as i already said. And there we will stay So be happy in T1 without any enemy. Its not a big problem to rush over the enemy with quantity like most of the WvW guilds do.

Just watched a guildmate, my wvw officer, stop a group of BT players from WIC from getting a camp (that wasn’t even ours to begin with) for nearly 5 minutes, jsut for funsies!

Are you sure it’s not arrogance?

Because how exactly do you think a random group of players is going to defeat organized group on Ventrillo that chains crucial skills etc? It doesn’t matter if there’s more of them. And it doesn’t even matter if it’s a guild group, why would you suicide on a stronger enemy?

I roam most of the time and charge 2-3 players without fear. Underwater, I charge even enemy groups of 5 people, even going through them with spear. An organized group can do much more because of synergy. But I don’t think anything bad when people run away. One should fight from a position of advantage.

Why? They know they will lose all in morning – they still fight hard, not for 1 week or 2 weeks, they fight like that for 4 weeks now. That is what you call dedication to your server! Hell, some guilds couldn’t even handle it for 2 days nevermind 4 weeks and ongoing!

This match is no challenge, though still has the occasional battle.
Any objectives achieved are short term, knowing our coverage cant hold them.

Night capping was big bad and evil when Deso/VS etc… were night capping.
Now its become a inconvenience of server hoppers, funny how things change.

I’m a VS player, and i want go in T2!
BT have a lot of good guild (thanks free migration) with a large time-zone.
But a serveur with tag FR SP or DE don’t interressing a other region to come in (tag EU is the must).
Nobody want fight BT, Iron on Desolation want T2, a lot of player VS want T2, Elona don’t want come on T1 why, because BT are the best with a large time-zone, a lot of good guild, and play very good zerg (i hate zerg, i love real fight 15vs15, fight with GF or Nug when they are on FS server, roaming group, not 100 zombie player vs doors)
No challenge No-match No game pleasure for a week
If BT want challenge, go on a international server with large time-zone^^

I don’t know how many players from VS want to drop in T2 but I’m pretty sure it’s not an option for both organized WvW guilds/alliance and our organized “pug”.

This week is just an occasion to work on our organisation and to get some rest or to try out the new content.

Dont worry Excession, if they do team up on you, you can always transfer to the server that wins ready for PS2.

What real challenge, that didn’t work even vs Desolation. If Arborstone and Vizu could really work together then they would beat Desolation, but they’re too busy squabbling and worrying about public opinion to make a profitable alliance.

Another thing is this – even if Vizu and Arbor teamed up vs Blacktide 100%, they still cannot win. That’s because of how off-capping works. They can score more points than Blacktide in prime time but in many off-hours Blacktide will have more players on the map than Arbor and Vizu combined.

Actually, no, not quite.

Even if Arbor do move back up, and if both FR servers try to work together against BT, they just do not have enough coverage 24/7.
Sure, they might be able to do enough so that during FR primetime BT’s point gain is 0, but outside of that few hours, BT will easily make enough to cover and overcome that point gain deficit anyway.

It is all a moot point anyway, as according to the FR servers themselves, they cannot work together, they tried previously, and failed.

Oh, and to those that are still crying about Ruin, and server transfers, get over it already, you are acting like Ruin stole your lunch money.

It’s hard to fight you. We lost a great part of our forces thanks to lag / clipping / lost of interest (choose your favorite) and we are working really hard to keep the server spirit as high as possible.

BT is actually the most impressive server i’ve seen since the release. Great guilds, large timezone coverage and most of all a real fighting spirit. I wish we could do that on VS but our FR tag will make such a thing nearly impossible.

But don’t worry we will keep on fighting til our last breathe. After all we do not stayed on T1 this whole time to fall apart so easily

Ps: an alliance between VS and PA would be a good thing but we seen the first time that such an alliance is impossible so don’t worry you probably won’t have to fight a 2vs1

Dont get me wrong but, there is one thing i dont quite get:
Instead of taking the week off, why dont you and JUG just go on EB and give Ruin hell?

Lets face the facts.
In the late evening:
1) Ruin are rather isolated on Blacktide.
2) They seem to focus on EB.
3) They only have one zerg(20-30 ppl) going from tower to tower. They are very predictable.
4) They dont have any specific battle order, they stand very loose and open.

I’m pretty sure: You could easily ambush them or snipe unguarded towers and keeps.
This week is your chance, pull them apart and farm them off. You only need like 15-20 good pvp players.
Don’t let yourself down or go simply off, fight them.

About the teaming up – Non-International servers have pretty much 0 chance of getting coverage remotely close to ours. Thus I’d say it’s completely ok if you do that with Arborstone. To be honest, I’d even like it to happen.

Yesterday morning – we own whole eternal, defending your keep from you. After like an hour of straight fighting at the keep, you’ve found a way to get to us, and after another hour you took it back. You tried to get langor back first, but it was too close to the keep so people came easily to defend. We could defend those 2 targets. You went the other way, took Bravost, Durios then Quentin and basically surrounded us.

We’d have to split forces to defend those targets which could prove tough to pull off as we might have lost the keep during the process, but honestly – you took bravost before anyone noticed anything, or at least nobody posted anything being busy with all the siege you kept building to fire up on us from your spawn. Then reds woke up and we lost it all.

Want more fights like that when the other side is actually trying. You fought even though you knew you’ll loose the week ( I mean score ofc ).

It’s a shame more of the deso and VS guilds aren’t playing. I know the score is lopsided but I enjoyed my battles against you last week. kitten the score, come out and fight for the fun of it.

Funny, that was the reason why so many moved to BT, to avoid the zerging down and wanted to be on the winning side, now you see the result; people avoiding T1, since getting roflstomped is only fun for a few weeks, then it gets old really quick. And now you’ll dominate with zero opposition, hope your server enjoys pve.

Ironic statement when in a guild that transferred because of the scoreboard and to get better ‘time zone coverage’.
If people fought for the fight and not the score – the population would be more spread out and not clumped together via the transfer game.

Soon, the guilds on Blacktide will remember the competetive feeling on lower tier servers and tight matches. They will get bored of steamrolling everyone in the first night of the match and start to switch servers, or worse, leave the game. Situations like this are hurting the WvWvW-Community in general. Instead of going through the process of establishing a healthy community on a server, many take the easy way of jumping around and try to find a place which they can call home where other already did the work for them. But because of their attitude towards WvWvW they don’t realize that they are actually destroying the first development steps on servers they came across.

There is a reason why many low-tier servers don’t want to compete in T1 anymore.

The funny thing about people saying that lower tier matches are so much better is that I remember back on GH when I would die maybe once, possibly twice during an entire evening against main enemy forces, if we didn’t do well. You may think whatever you wish to make you feel better, but the actual fight improve as you go up in tier.

Sure, there is likely less off-hour capping at lower tiers, but really, as long as the fights I participate in are better … That’s why I find it so funny that people keep saying it’s completely legit for a competitive guild to transfer to a bottom tier server — as if the likelyhood of good fights will be very good there. Just sayin’.

Also, enough of this RUIN drama. It is what it is, just play the game, IMO.

Its not the tag that puts people off. Its the french or germans on the server. You could tag it as EU and people would leave like a shot once theyd arrived and worked it out.

Next week might be really interesting and I’d love to see french servers working together.

Zombies is not about prime time or any other time, it’s about mindless psychotocic karma hungry PVdoor.

I understand you might not have the required culture in surnatural creatures, but zombies can go out in daylight ! When we want to taunt about people playing at night, we’ll better use vampires…

Anyway the one guy talking about zombies before you was obviously a troll since he is one of the few VS players actually wanting to go down in tiers.
