About Vizu :
1) Yeah, we zergling a lot. We have a lot of casual players and they follow the commander. But i prefer a zerg than 50 players alone on the map. :p
2) We don’t have big WvW guild just an efficiant alliance made of small (~30) guilds .
3) “I haven’t seen a group of them with less than 10 members” If you don’t see our roaming groups… That’s perfect ! It means they are sneaky and capping without being catch !
4) We have a nightcapping force… ~20 players (without EBG), sometimes more when motivation is here.

I actually just played the reset and wow, VoTF impressed me. Very good organisation and nice turtle. Are you playing around 20h-23h GMT ?

Just because some say it doesn’t mean the majority of the server agrees with them., that’s what I was trying to say, but apparently you missed the point. Unless you were replying to something else other than the last few posts before yours.

The gif is funny indeed, but I think it reflects not only BT, but pretty much every server. Because people in every server contradict eachother. And that’s normal, everyone has his/her own opinions. Again, because Player X from Server X has an opinion, it doesnt mean all of Server X share that opinion.

Fun tidbit, earlier today, near the zerg, my group (4 people) turned around and suddenly saw about 7 vizunah where we were just running. They were running away as if they hadn’t spotted us…

We ran through eachother without knowing we were there XD Gotta love culling.

Already had a lot of fun against RG. Really fun to fight such good battles on pretty even conditions. Can say they’re the best GW2 guild I’ve had the honor to meet on the battlefield. We have stood less chance against a select few other guilds but that’s only cause they half-fill a Borderland and run around in a huge blob, it’s not about quality then, only quantity and organization.

We had some crazy fights yesterday, thanks for that! During my time in RG, there’s no denying that you are one of the strongest we’ve fought from a purely GvG standpoint – would love to see others follow your lead.

Myth #4: We got to tier1 because we worked hard:

Mythbusting: When I was on SFR the (then medium) server also worked hard but no amount of work can compensate for lack of population and off-time coverage. Then SFR received a lot of new players, not excluding few US guilds, and suddenly it’s tier1. Because of hard work? No. Because of higher pop and timezone coverage.

It’s nice that you work hard in a computer game without being developer, but when your false sense of accomplishment fades you’ll realize the game is shallow and WvW is just a game of numbers. That’s what HoD, Erredon and many others realized once they got to the top. Being on top offers no joy at all to many of us.

SFR seem to win during EU-prime time 5 out of 7 days. As you can see at around 2-4 am is when BT starts getting a huge amount of points.

You’re obviously not looking properly.

DAY1 Saturday: BT has more points than SFR, whole day, until midnight.
DAY2 Sunday: BT has lead the entire day until almost 10pm. This is where prime time ends for people who have to go to work etc. SFR is the only server who counts 1am as “prime time” though.
DAY3 Monday: BT leads whole day until 10pm when people need to go to sleep.
DAY4 Tuesday: BT leads until 10pm when people need to go to sleep.
DAY5 Wednesday: BT leads until 9pm, SFR takes slight lead until 10pm, then both are even in points until early morning hours.
DAY6&7: BT is resting because it has a huge lead in points.

As you can see, SFR was completely defeated in prime time and could only take a lead once prime time was over and everyone went to sleep.

1- Yes, in the past SFR won as a medium server, often steamrolling opponents when we were together (aka primetime)
2- Those ppl that joined us did it because they wanted, not because we asked them, SFR’s main WvW alliance doesn’t do recruiting, we just attract WvW’ers due to our organization and dedication, don’t be jealous pls
3- It wasn’t a sudden climb to T1, we all had this aim for a long time now and worked for this to happen, it took several consecutive wins in T3 and T2 (after we reorganized, following our drop to T4)
4- Most of the new players were integrated into the community and we now fight as one, that wasn’t easy to do, nor is it easy to maintain this level of dedication (aka winning)

All of that took hard work, our presence in T1 isn’t just a fluke like you are implying. You don’t share the same opinion? Good, no one cares anyway

Oh, and stop pretending to be a mythbuster, you’re bad at it and you should feel bad.

Why do all these random heroes pop up. People win people loose does the campaign really matter that much anymore, i know for the average pug yes it does. We want the best guilds the best action and i think with Seafarers we have that so cut the crap and get stuck in. Why people endlessly qq about points is baffling to me.

Less qq more fighting. This really sad the way you flame each other whos the best server.

I took a look at des and BT back in the one day transfer days. DEs seemed OK but BT were really quite poor back then – despite moving up the ladder and winning on points they seemed to spend most of their time losing engagements and winning purely from off peak coverage.

I had assumed they’d improved on reaching T1.

Now I’m not so sure……

i can just keep looking for rg vidos and admire ur gameplay.

for all the other qq/flame here : yes VS is so bad, zerg and zerg, we’r so noobs, we have a huge night cap force, if weren’t in3vs1 postion we hide in our keeps, and we study ur time zones just to find at which hour we need to play just to PvD.

we got wiped at garri 3 times as i remember, 2 times against Vizu on the walls.
When i can, i’m trying also add some wipes, but this movie was to long already and ofc in that way i’ll put there only the moments that I want to review later.

Occasionally, a great fight prior to a wipe might be worth putting in, but mostly watching a group die to twice their number is pretty boring – it’s exactly what you’d expect to happen in the situation, why would anyone want to watch that?

I’d love to see a video of those fights from your perspective, though. I was there for the garrison fight(s), and they were pretty damned awesome.

Congrats to SFR on this weeks win. However, I would like to see how long you stay in tier 1. you are currently facing worn out servers, many guilds and people are not playing GW2 atm due to burn out. If you manage to avoid the burnout phase and keep strong then and only then will you prove yourselves, like Vizunah and Arborstone and unlike Blacktide. I’m hoping people will return to Blacktide in the future so you can experience what we had, but its looking unlikely.

A real match up would be if all 3 servers were fighting with ALL the WvW people on each server. I forsee a similar thing happening to SFR which happened to Blacktide. Maybe im wrong but give it 4-5 weeks and we will see. The first signs of burnout are when several guilds " take a week long break". For your sakes try to avoid doing so, at least all at the one time.

While it is good to see a new server rising to the top im wondering if GW2 will become a flavour of the month server win. You win for a few weeks, burn out and then a new server shows up to take the win and the cycle continues. Time will tell.

For the record this hasn’t been a passing phase, we haven’t ‘just arrived’ in tier 1, this has been a massive community effort from the tightest server out there. We’ve been consistently up against it since day 1 having faced practically zero coverage in offpeak (past midnight) hours, fighting massive numbers and winning….and losing.

We’ve won, lost, been beaten badly, won badly and everything in between and not one of us has given up or admitted defeat, we’ve all of us, guilded, un guilded, allied, un-allied, worked out ways how we can win with what we have. We’ve worked on teamwork, communication, everything, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t but mostly it does.

So no PRX joining us didn’t win us Tier 1, the past 3 months won us entrance to Tier 1. Whether we win or lose week in week out we’ll all still be out there fighting the fight not transferring to the ‘next best thing’ because we’re already on the best server and have been since day 1.

Crack on with all the excuses though it’s an entertaining aside whilst we continue doing what we always do, playing well and winning (mostly :P)

Massive zergs, massive sieges and even more massive culling and abusing of invisibility. Actually I feel more like playing hide n seek then pvp.

Don’t generalise so much. Plenty of us have never cared about score, merely about fights. So long as BT stays in T1, I’m more than happy – the fights from SFR have been great so far.

Complaining at the people who are all mad that you have numbers, a better nightcap force, or whatever they’re qqing about is just a waste of time. Maybe they’re wrong, maybe they’re right, but patronising them isn’t gonna make them shut up. If you’re interested in good fights and reasonable discussion with people, then just pretend the others don’t exist.

Saw the Wic on BT’s borderland yesterday.

As for the good fights, it seems we were on the wrong map for this.
What we saw was just a massive bus from SFR , failing hard to take GreenLake.

And so the tone of the prime time was set for everyone : zerg, culling and lags.
Hope it will be different tonight.

p.s hihi aneu my old friend. (searches for pink unicorn picture). heard the guys had some insane battles vs your chaps saturday night.

What I really want to ask those RG people who make all those vids, how the hell do you guys get to see the entire enemy zerg everytime.
RG runs with 20 something people right? I see enemy zergs up to 30 people sometimes more. When I run with the Nugos zerg, which nowadays hardly gets up to 15, we never get to see the enemy zerg in its full glory like in most of the fights in the videos.

Nevertheless I realize you probably have culling issues aswell but that hardly seems the case in most fights you guys captured in those videos. Take that last fight in garrison, I would have run in there thinking “what the hell broke down our doors” only to then die.

On a side note, all the talks about who’s better and SFR’s rise to power. It’s all moot. Desolation said they were well on their way to becoming a T1 force to be reckoned with before RUIN came. RUIN left and they dropped down. Blacktide (which I’m on) was a decent before a good number of guilds joined it (a bunch including myself from FSP) making it a more all round server and thus getting into T1. Now that a lot of guilds/people are on a break/stopped playing we will most likely drop down aswell.

As I said before, Vizunah is the only consistent server in EU ladder. They have been T1 from the start and will most likely be T1 till the end. Believe it or not, I actually think that because Vizunah is a French server that they will stay this consistent. They have no language barriers, they have a huge playerbase that is concentrated on FR servers (5 of them in EU pool while only 2 are really competitive) and with their VOIP system creating some organization amongst those big numbers is most likely the key to their success. Not a flame, actually a compliment.

By that same theory German servers should be doing as well too right? Sure but there are 7 German servers. 4 of which in the top 11 actively competing to get higher. Also I still think the impact of international players on FR server might be bigger than most native French people realize. Not saying its monumental or anything, just saying that its there every able body counts at night. The Germans don’t have that.

That said, Blacktide has been #1 for 4 weeks iirc, we did so because we managed to get as close to a 24h presence as we possibly could but we never had any proper enemy that could stop us from capping almost everything in the night. But that goes for every T1 match in EU so far. So far there hasn’t been a 24h clash like NA T1 has been doing for almost 2 months now, for us it has always been Server X has a 20-22h presence and thus beats everyone with a 100-150k point lead while Server Y and Server Z only have a 12-16h presence and thus get slammed.

As for us, people from Vizunah, we were proud to finally show SFR what we can do when we play. The weekend is always bad on VS, but sunday evening is the beginning of our weeks. We weren’t at full force because of the christmas event, but i guess you felt the difference.

it’s the same princip about scouts and zergs, scouts are always able to see better than a player into a zerg.
i have so much fun avoiding a full zerg only by runing 2-3 m left or right, and see how the entire zerg pass by

I think nobody on other servers realize the daily work we put on Vizunah. We have a real soul, what i call the Vizunah Spirit. We NEVER give up, even when the situation is terrible.

that don’t make us any less happier from our Vizunah Spirit, event if u only found it in one guilde …. sometimes it’s huge, and other times, only few guildes/players keep carrying on…. BUT … it will never turn off !

The T1 raising fever last 3 weeks for BT, i wonder how many times it’ll last for SFR.

Obviously you don’t know us very well, maybe you didn’t switch map enough …

Want to thank all that was on SFR home borderland sunday evning, was fun fights at Hills, Longview, Cliff and some sneak attacks at Garrison, the fight at Hill i toth we lost 3 times

I can clearly say with 100% certain that culling is not equal to everyone.
I can prove it with 2 guys recording the same fight.

Your own PC configuration, hardware, bandwitch and ingame settings. All play a big factor in culling, which just means it isn’t everything server-side.

Thats why probably the RG videos have so few culling, the ones recording surely have good configs and I don’t know, but they probably also do some sort of stalling before engaging.

It’s the Tier 1 curse.

Once you become #1, you realize you’ve pretty much ‘won’ the game as far as GW2 WvW goes. There’s no reward for getting there, and there’s no reward for staying there. There’s no rivalry, because even when by some fluke of the rendering system you can see your enemy, you often don’t even have a clue who you’re fighting against. Threads get closed when a minimum amount of drama shows up, so there’s no real metagame rivalries either.

All in all, the better you perform in WvW, the sooner you realize it’s all for nothing. It all feels rather pointless. Battle fatigue kicks in, guilds die and the server drops out of 1st position, allowing other server to take over and realize the exact same thing.

Apparently Arena Net is working on some kind of progression system for WvW. Maybe that will give people a bigger drive to continue playing. Fortunately the lack of subscription fees makes it easy for people to come back and try out the new stuff.
