Cheater on WvW
is it really hacking? Sadly people accuse hacking often when it’s not, and that makes real client hacking difficult for GM’s to catch. If he’s perma stealth, how did you block him to do that? Sounds like a zerg diving incident where everyone freaked out and didn’t do anything constructive like oh idk, widespread aoe or even better, try to immob and when you know you hit him while in stealth, bomb on that spot. As soon as he comes out, rangers typically would knockback, and use sic’em (or more likely reverse that combo or more at same moment). Normally they are more to harass not ‘kill everything’. A number of ways to deal with them, depending on circumstances.

Okay, he did it for 1 hour? Is it normal? Not. Is it fun? Not. How we block? Because u can launch skill and just wait unbtil he attacks, u dont have to see him? He was attacking us constantly.
Yes, I can see what is hack and what is not, that was 100% hack, cheat, bug or whatever. If you can stay 100% stealth and kill whatever you want and don’t get killed… then tell me what is this? If it were on the single charfacters – okay i can understand it, but not when it’s on the whole zerg end there is no single red nickname, but everyone is dying.
So, answer me again, is this fair or unfair? Come on?

Still not understanding how you could block/report someone you can’t see to get their name… Which in turn told me that they were getting revealed for a few seconds for you to have that chance, which would mean they are just cloaking off of people, occasionally attacking, and repeating. If it’s more of like in that video, then I’d agree, you have someone cheating by using a 3rd party application to hack the client.

Ugh, I know his English isn’t perfect, but it’s quite easy to understand for the most part. He said he could see the spell animations of the invis person, just not the actual character model(which isn’t true stealth and is a huge red flag). And if you know someone is stealthed around you, killing your allies, you can still use your block expecting incoming damage. Or maybe he’s a Guardian with aegis? And the fact he said the person was ganking multiple players with no stealth debuff, it’s obvious it’s a bug or a client hack.

I was just running around in Edge of the mists and encountered this same kitten … someone you cant see but can see spellanimations and finishes but cant hurt och do anything against. I dont think we are talking about a single cheater, most probably several. I saw 2 different finishers and we are talking about an entire zerg getting wiped by roughly 2 hackers…

Block to report is not block with skills…. I’ll apologize for not making it crystal clear too as I left out an important clarification.
This is what I was questioning

Unless I missed something recently, as I’ll admit I haven’t been on a lot, that would still only get you the side and the rank of the person not a name to report.
Limited information and such a wide disparity in uses of the term permastealth, reading it at first sounded much more like zerg diving, only thing that gave me pause was people dying, but who knows? I’ve almost killed uplevels with just a cloak or 2, they are often extremely undergeared. Followup much more stated it was related to the other incidents occurring, and btw response tone was directly related to other responses tone. Ugh me or not, but when you have to interpret what someone is saying, you are going to base interpretation on what you see, what you know, and if you had not read the followup, you wouldn’t have known that on the animations either. I do not jump to assume hacking, because most often it’s not. In this case? I agree it is after the followup information made it clearer what was happening.

No, that’s not normal thief mechanics… Even if you are being sarcastic, just don’t. Far too many people already think standard thief mechanics is actually hacking or that a thief is invincible or permastealth while dealing 15k damage legitimately. 15k doable, but not while permastealth >.>

Seems that there is a thief and either necro or mes with from what has been said, but no idea for sure, since there is an option to randomize finisher…
If anet want to fight hack they must include server side control, and client file control…
But to reduce load on the server (and then the cost) lot of job is do on the client side, without server control…

And behind the episode in the posted video, it was a lot of time that that thief sticked to the zerg or sometimes some roamers to do that mess! Also thieves with perma stealth build it’s impossible they never appear.
Only for your information, when a thief hits an enemy, he looses the invisibility.
With any self evidence, that is a hacker or cheater!
