Crashing
It’s been happening since the Living World Season 3/balance update.
I have had 6 tonight!!!! I give up-too frustrating
Same. It’s super annoying and has missed me a few good fights.
How this got past QA is beyond me, unless there quite simply is no QA process that includes WvW, because even 15 minutes of walking around would have good odds of the client crashing.

Yep. I have two machines I play on and prior to this latest update they hadn’t crashed in GW2 64bit in months. Now I cannot get through 3 or so hours without a crash.

Guildie crashed tonight in the middle of our raid. Lucky it was between fights so we didn’t really miss much but even so… annoying.

Someone mentioned in the bugs forum that they can reproduce the crash by hovering over the reward track bars that reside on top of the minimap in WvW. I am able to confirm this.

I can confirm this. I’m on win 10 and just hovering over the reward track icon insta crashes me. Nice catch.
I’ve done everything but stand on my head & whistle Dixie & still crashing. This is ridiculous. Can’t play like this-uninstall coming in near future if this isn’t fixed. How many reports does it take?

The bug seems to only affect WvW players, so Anet hasn’t noticed it. Fractal patches take priority.

Crashes seem to happen randomly. Error tells me GW2 is trying to read from memory it’s now allowed to. Would be nice if ANet looked into this.

If you are continuing to get these please reply with a copy of the top section of the crash report. It will be formatted similar to the following:

If you send me those three lines it would help immensely with establishing exactly what crashes these are and whether or not they are limited to WvW. If these crashes are not related to WvW but just happen to also occur in WvW I will have this thread moved to the generic bug subforum.

ArenaNet.log is the file you are looking for now. And keep in mind the most recent crash will be at the bottom.

You are running out of memory. If you are able to run it I would suggest using the 64-bit client as it should not suffer so badly from this problem.

Forgot to take screenshots but also crashing when I receive rank-up chests. Did send error report, though. Difficult to remember to take screenshots when one is fighting in a blob vs blob scenario & you realize you are crashing especially when yr toon is stomped b4 the report goes through & you end up dead in DR when you log back on.

If you are experiencing crashes, revert back to the 32bit client.
Dowload the 32 bit client from your account.
-Rename the file too gw2.exe and place in the gw2 folder
-make a short cut of the file
- add the command -32 in the shortcut.
And play! It solved all my crashes. It seems the 64bit client gives loads of problems too some ppl since the patch.
You can also try to play with the -nosound command. This will dissable the sound system of gw2 and can also solve some crashes ppl are experiencing

This worked for me. And then I realized I haven’t been getting reward track rewards all this time? No wonder food was starting to feel expensive.
I was doing TT this morning when the game crashed. I sent in the report but it vanished before I could copy paste. Hopefully you got it.
Someone else in the WvW guild got the “game-wide rendering” crash in talking to a merchant not in WvW.

How do you get these codes… I was getting random crashes last night, but only got the GW2 game client stopped working, and the game would close. This has only started happening since last update. Previously no one in my house crashes.

Check the Guild Wars 2 installation directory for a crash.dmp file. If the game drops out of memory, it probably doesn’t have a crash dump though.

I fixed mine, so might help some of you:
crashes were caused by me moving my mouse on that reward track participation on top of minimap and i noticed my reward track was stuck on 100% so i swapped reward track and it got fixed (pretty sure it was crashing before 100% as well)
Fix: Try changing you reward track. Worked for me.
Repairing or reinstalling the game didnt fix my issue but found solution myself

The ArenaNet.log section is where the text people are posting can be found after the fact, should one dismiss the crash report dialog early.

I also cut out other stuff but if you want more, just ask. I see lots of other useful stuff I would use debugging code but not sure what you use. Especially given the code section is obviously compiled and the registers do little good unless you are writing ASM. But I recall you guys like map positions to duplicate things so I added that and general memory stuff.

I’m still getting crashes while in WvW…error code says something like ‘msphereradius + tolerance’…the same one coopa.8937 reported.
Game is still crashing randomly since the last update…been over a week now of game crashing at least once a day….I wish Anet would stop doing anymore updates…not b/c the game is perfect the way it is…b/c every time there’s an update, it’s followed by at least a week of bugs and crashes and severe lag…
