We had that once already. Siege (except golems) couldnt be deployed. IMO best day in WvW since release.
I loved the Jumping Mesmer day myself…

actually, this would be fun.
24 hours from reset a random event happens. Be it EXP/WXP/Karma/Magic Find boost or perhaps all NPC’s have 100% more health (would be so awesome to fight the lords in keeps/SM with such a boost. Entire battle would end up like a PVE event XD). Or hell, even funnier, your health is reduced by 50 %.

- Reduce the cost of golems. Let people to make a huge Golem-Army! I believe it will be epic and fun battles, at least players expirience in these battles will be totally different.
How about instead of building golems everyone just spawns as a golem, and if you kill 10 enemy golems without dying you become an omega golem.

Gun game, or an MMO/GW2 version of it where:
You start off as whatever you are,
After every 5 or whatever stomps, you’re automatically switched to a new class, build and gear… (Far-fetched idea, given the amount of programming required for this).
This was a really fun game mode back in the Counter-Strike days. It forced you to use weapons (or in this case, classes and builds) you weren’t familiar with or didn’t otherwise use regularly.
Of course, the further you progress, the more rewarding it is. Ideally because you show competence in many classes and builds. I think if anything else, getting to play something new is its own reward. Might open people up to new classes.

Imho, it should be something that is very easy to implement for developers (like a golem cost). Then it will work!

To be honest, this kind of thing won’t really affect balance at all. Servers with 24/7 coverage or close to it will still completely stomp servers that don’t have round-the-clock coverage, and servers that field huge numbers will still easily beat servers that can’t que 3 or more maps 7 days a week. The only type of “random rules” that could affect balance in this sort of way would be something like random blackout hours, where maybe WvW just shuts down randomly for several hours during non-NA times in NA, or non-EU times in EU; or maybe a a ruleset where for 1 week, the que for WvW shrinks to 25 people per map. This kind of thing would probably make people even more upset than the current server balance problems, however.

Yes! This is whole idea. This thing will not affect the global balance. So developers can play with different things without a fear.

but it’s too pemanent and will affect the balance.
my idea to have something fun but temporary (once per week or month)
to avoid the affecting to global WWW balance,
then devs can fell free to change anything!

something like “all range and AOE” can damage to all. As in real war
imho zerg will not be destroyed, but ppl may look like marching soldiers from 18th centery keeping their distance

Woow, would be really nice. Better like that idea! It will create a better teamwork for all servers during this day and also it will affect the future days, people will finally realize what teamwork really is.
This would be a great start for new properties for WvW!

Strangely enough the absence of ACs meant that people PvP’ed in a PvP mode instead of spamming 1 on top of a t3 wall, who’d have thunk it.
Haha, I vote yes. I would have also voted that we all be transformed into Santas little helpers on Christmas day.
MMOs go through 4 stages
- 1st stage is making the game stable; Server,Client, Mechanics, Stability (May last up to 3 to 6 years)
- 2nd stage is the creative bloom stage; Adding creative ways to make the game still as exciting (Normally starts after the game is 1 years old and can last up to 9 years)
- 3rd stage is the refinement stage of the 1st and 2nd Stage (Somewhere right before stage 4, about after 4 years lasting up to the end of the game)
- 4th stage is the technological improvement stage; i.e. Graphics to DX11.1 (Usually after the game is 5 years old so has to justify the extra RnD cost)
I hope we are at stage 2 and devs will look to the proposal described in this topic.

wvw definitely needs more dragon attacks. Although the amount of QQ that would arise if friendly fire was turned on would be something of legend.

Yea, I also have a lot of cool ideas, but imho if the implementation will be complex, just forget about it, devs have own plan regarding complex things.
But current topic is about very easy changes for developers, just read above, and so it really can be implemented and will be very fun for WWW gameplay!

Sorry to be a wet blanket, but I’d rather they spend their time fixing all of the broken stuff instead of introducing new things, many of which may also not work as intended. They have more work in front of them than they seem to be able to handle already.
Casual friday : no armor/trinkets/runes, steady weapons.

Or just move up through the classes, start with the worst, ele, and then move all the way up to War…Of course I was always more of a fan of reverse GG, that way it gets more difficult and those that get to the top first don’t utterly destroy the players that have not advanced. This may work better in PvP rather than WvW.

I like the 1st idea = just some small but cool thing, like:
- golem cost can be 2 Sup, and golem speed 4x times more.
- SM Lords have 5 times bigger damage always, so they can not be killed so easy as today
- etc.
nothing to develop here, just change manually one constant parameter and see how people will respond to this change (again it must happen rarely, one day of week or one day of month). And I can predict: players will wait for this cool day!
