Cross server chat would be glorious!
Let’s not give people a tool for creating a toxic environment.
I would be for it as long as people have the ability to turn it off like the other chat channels.
We could have a turn off option for those who didnt like it
So basicly every matchup would be f2p alt accounts going “lololol commander is at hills now lololol” 24/7 in cross server chat just to troll.
Sure. Glorious.
f2p accounts cannot enter WvW until level 60. Seems like a lot of work just to be able to troll.
no thank you. lets not make it easier for trolling , right?
If you turn it off it wont affect you.
Salt, salt everywhere. Nope for me.

Wouldn’t be so much trolling as it would be the typical tryharding. I mean really people already roll alt accounts so that they can blow tractivators on key objectives.

That gonna be the world’s largest salt farm.

Too much salt and you die.
Cross server chat would be useful, if we would have players caring about their enemies, but that’s very rarely the case if ever. And it’s bad, because 99% of the fun in WvW, depends on what your enemies do and the quality of their play. Imagine one side asking your side, to use less numbers, so they can last a bit longer and their casuals won’t start logging off, or something similar… Just won’t work. As an extra option — why not. But most would keep it turned off, for obvious reasons of extreme low level trolling, so this shouldn’t be a priority.
Alliance chat, multiple alliances, now that would be extremely useful. Could replace the so called “team chat” that can be extremely dirty at times. In an alliance chat, the leaders/officers of the chat could ban for 24h or forever those who cross the line set by rules. We won’t be forced to read those trolls who are doing that for 4 years already, and still aren’t banned by ArenaNet.
Only if ArenaNet would enforce their rules regarding useless toxicity in their game, as well as they do here in the forum, the game would be a nicer place to be. Alliance chat would be the least they could do, working similarly to guild chat, opt-in basis.
Again if you turn it off it wont be a problem.
My opinion is, if people can’t take trolls they shouldn’t even be on internet…
It could possibly reduce the amount of toxicity present on the forums I suppose…by keeping it in game (bearing in mind that it can be turned it off).

Kefro you arent allowed to make suggestions anymore lol hokay

A multiplayer game with any form of communication is all that is needed for a toxic environment. As it stands you can jump on corpses and throw siege prints on the dead as the means to communicate your thoughts about the enemy

Can we plz have a anet pool for a cross server chat on each matchup.
The game would feel more alive with that!
Make it happen!!!
I just don’t see any real benefit to it.
All the trolling:
- Insults back and forth from either side
- Taunting and “your mother…” etc back and forth trying to enrage others to do mistakes
- Taking spying to a whole new level, and also to make it the ultimate trolling at the same time
- Making WvW very bad for new players and PvE players that is considering trying the mode
The only real benefit I can see is between Duelers, and other groups trying to setup organized fighting. And showing respect for those you’ve Dueled with etc. But I don’t consider that to be anywhere near worth the negatives.
A compromise that might work, was to allow “/say” to be multi-server. That would allow most of the same, with only half of the negatives, and much easier to block for individual users. Still can’t say I’m positive to even that.
“Understanding is a three edged sword: your side, their side, and the truth.”
“The objective is to win. The goal is to have fun.”
Entire game mode would deteriorate further with constant spamming, insults, toxic, and to the point of nobody wanting to even enter wvw.
No…just no.
I mean, if you’re desperate to spy nobody is going to be able to stop you.
While amusing, I’m not sure this feature would be beneficial.
Its a fun thought, tho.
OS and perhaps EotM might benefit from this?

If people want to they can chat now with a little effort. Might as well remove a limitation that really doesn’t prevent salty comments.
