yeah like I want to hear a server full of people while I am playing the game. Peeps should know what to do and where to go by now.

It’s not as bad as you make it out to be.
There are a lot of 20+ (age) players in our mumble.
Have you ever tried giving warning of a zerg, with numbers of attackers, and defenders, while kiting away from them, all while typing it out? Chances are you’ll get even more frustrated and give up altogether. The alternative: say it. You’ll be instantly told what the rest of the team is doing and if you’re going to get support.

I think the difference between Mag and most other servers is that our public mumble is truly public. It’s not run by any specific guild and no specific guild really controls what’s going down. If somebody has a good idea, people are generally willing to listen to it and possibly even execute on it.

When a voice comm is controlled by a guild, even if it’s made public, eventually somebody is going to feel excluded from the goings on because the people in that specific guild will always have more authority than anybody else. Be it intentional or not.

I will say though that a lot of people don’t join the Maguuma public mumble. Which is fine. They want to be on their own guilds voice comms. I get that. It’s always more enjoyable to play, chat, and laugh with your close friends. However anybody that runs solo and isn’t in the public mumble, even just to listen, is probably doing themselves and the borderlands they are currently playing on a disservice.

I still get pretty surprised at our participation because people tend to fly in the other direction when they hear goons are on a server, or goons provided the public mumble.

People that switch sides solely to win are the problem. Since Mag never wins, there is no problem. Switching servers because you prefer another servers community over the one you’re currently on is completely reasonable.

Yeah but my entire point was he somehow thinks it’s possible for all the problems we’re having on our server to be fixed in just a week for it to continue to be an acceptable place for him to play.

Well, from what I read in his post it seems Darkhaven has very limited server wide organization. Maguuma has great server wide organization and that’s mostly because we worked hard to get there from the start. I remember when the Maguuma mumble first came out…there was like 20 people on it max, now I see 100+ at times, its pretty awesome. People are not afraid to hop into another channel and say another BL needs help, and on top of that people are not afraid to offer to help. Sometimes we ask if 10 people are willing to go help and 20 will offer to go. We actually have trouble with TO many people offering to help.

Maguuma never wins, we just don’t have the constant coverage, but we have a lot of fun and are very organized. We have very good and dedicated commanders and we have tons of people who are not afraid to spend a little cash to get some siege set up inside fortified keeps and we have people that constantly go around to refresh the siege. In my bank I currently have 22 flame rams, 19 ballistas, 18 arrow carts, 18 catapults, 9 trebuchets, and 7 siege golems….ALL SUPERIOR and I use them all the time. I also have numerous regular blueprints and have spent countless gold on siege equipment and keep defenses. I can also name at least 20 people off the top of my head who are exactly like me.

Maguuma has won twice ever, we dont WvW to win, we WvW for fun and passion. We worked really hard to get our community to where it’s at and its constantly getting better. Hates us all you want but it is awesome on Maguuma. It really is.

Honestly if that’s how he feels then he should just leave now because it’s not going to be fixed in just 1 week. Not to the level he seems to be expecting.

Yeah but this guy has posted complaining about how it’s silly that Mag and DH are fighting each other, and his convoluted projections for why it’s happening. He was solely concerned about servers trying to secure first place, thought it was stupid for second and third place to go on each other borderlands, and “couldn’t get the logic” behind why second and third place hadn’t and wouldn’t form alliances to close the gap made by first place.

The people I’m blaming are the ones jumping ship just because they can. Because it’s easier to transfer to a “winning” server than invest time into a community and see it grow. That goes for all servers, not just darkhaven.

Your organization problems should have been fixed three weeks ago but you didn’t care then because the points said otherwise. Now your server has too much downward momentum and you are going to have to deal with the consequences. This is why you focus on growing your server community organically from the start instead of waiting until the score turns sour before you try.

Thinking like this is part of what is keeping you down. You guys think everything we preach is just toot our horns or step on you. If you ever decided to consider what we (or anyone one else) were saying rather than brushing it to the side you’d be a lot better off.

I admit that Maguuma has always been more organized than DH (as a collective whole). I believe I said this before. DH has had some GREAT WvW guilds, some just left due to our last loss, some are MIA atm too. We did not have an actual NEED for the amount of organization that Maguuma has shown us, nor did we have all around coverage at all. Now that some of our WvW guilds are gone or MIA, I personally wouldnt mind dropping a tier or two. We had a 4 or 5 win streak once, some guilds jumped to DH, now that we recently did not get 1st place, some guilds jumped ship, nature of the beast and understandable.

HOT was our only off hour guild from what I remember, I still see some of them sometimes.

HVN was strong at first, not sure where most of them are atm.

RE, WE, GoF, and SE I still see alot of at times though. And plenty of PUG’s without direction if there is no icon on.

DH is segregated, we pretty much have always been. We either had more numbers or multiple guilds on at the same time to paint the maps we painted, times have changed recently and it is showing.

I like RE and the fairest matches we’ve had involved Darkhaven and Dragonbrand. Its a shame to see them go through a rough patch but I hope you guys break through.

All I know is that DH is a chill server and I’d be glad to fight them any time. CD on the other hand seems to be the short bus server.

Different tune? I do not believe I’ve ever commented on Darkhaven’s organization one way or the other.

Soo much complaining going on. I liked the start of this topic better. I’m from CD and I tend to stick to a group of 2-7 at most times. 2 days ago I fought a lot of Darkhaven in EB and little Maguuma, I thought you both fought well, but most resistance (where I was) came from Darkhaven. I’ve enjoyed the match so far.

First – I am having a blast. 7-1 thus far….tip to you thieves….don’t use the elite pets. Haha! They attack everything other than your opponent.

Second – Hate to break the news to ya but the match is already decided. Would you rather us all be in the jumping puzzle? C’mon man. This is an honest good time and a way to show some friendly respect to the other servers.

Don’t worry about it, many CDs tonight have been bad sports about fight club tonight. They can’t handle the heat, I guess. There were some cool ones that showed up in my party tonight, glad they came. Sad that the rest of their server aren’t like them!

Until it was attacked by CD the CD server had 4-5 people there (I was one). Once there I wasn’t attacked once, unless I was called out, and I was surrounded by red names. We danced, we laughed, we bowed, and we dueled. Thanx for the event Littlefeather.

Now for those CD attackers….here is the thing. You could have wiped the whole map as many of the “opposing” forces were at one location. Yet you didn’t cap a dang thing and got wiped at least three times. Once you finally pushed through most had left anyway.

I’m not one to judge either way but you should have at least controlled the map and then played the part of party pooper. Ah well….this is why CD can’t have nice things.
