lol… ah well Mylerian… what do ya do… seriously you didn’t expect something good did you? At least it’s something different, more range, maybe more damage than the ac’s… who knows… at the end of the day who cares because they will do what they want. Oh I used to take WvW seriously as a part of the game to really get into… now it is truly not much more than a lark. A little more intense at times than PvE but mostly boring blobsters or roaming aimlessly for a server I don’t even belong to.
This is terrible. One of your worst decisions. We don’t even need a beta to play test this disaster.

I dare a Dev to comment on this and actually make sense of all this! It’s like they simply have given up, and just do not care! Do they realize a lot of people would come back if they just listened to those who play the game? Make positive changes instead of this garbage? If it’s fun, how is it not great? It’s just a piece of equipment on a test run and it’s at the start of Halloween stuff, not a big deal. People in this forum get emotional though and every little thing is a tragedy and will end the game forever.

-Cannon are ok if increase supply to 80+….
-Reduce range.

You’re rarely going to see me hyped for anything not yet released. Especially not without details on design and implementation. I’ve been on the company-end of MMO’s. Needless to say, in this industry, there’s way too much talk, too much keeping quiet until too late, and too much hype about nothing.

Its clear some people hate siege but siege is a part of the game and it is usedful to defend towers, keeps etc… To be clear its part of the game and was put there intentionally. If you fights people made the game there would be no siege at all but your not the only ones that play wvw get over it.
please don’t let deployable cannons become a thing and delete arrow carts while your at it as well please.

I can understand it from that angle, I loved the game in WvW for a few months after launch, but then it felt like the devs kept listening to loud players too often and now it’s all a jumbled raid progression. When I came back I decided to just play casually and enjoy how ridiculous the game can be sometimes and it’s a bummer because some things I really enjoy, like Daredevil utility animations for example, but I’ll have misgivings about the new class traits in general pushing the game more towards raid progression.
I make lite of these canons, but I’m sure they’ll be a thorn in my kitten at some point down the road.

Canon is rather buggy. You can’t hit anything on a “destructible” wall as the round itself will jsut have no effect on it.
Didn’t get to test how much damage it deals but theory wise, seems to be lower than AC if against players. Canon seems to be a obvious replacement for balls and cata/treb behind gate.

75% for perma implementation. 50% or more for trial run. That poll was for trial run not perma implementation. Obviously, there are slightly more people who are open-minded enough to do a trial before jumping into conclusion.

Having a beta test of having the Orbs back in the borderlands would have been interesting.
The game’s strength isn’t siege anyhow. It’s the possibility to use combo fields as a group and the dynamic combat system. And we all know that isn’t as fun as it used to be. I think that combat should have been addressed first.
You should bring the condi cap back to WvW at least.

I know this is a beta test and all, but did you really have to release something so utterly broken into the game. Why is there no siege cap in effect for these stupid things? Why is the damage high? Why are the cooldowns and supply cost low? How does anyone expect a positive reaction if you just give us a broken product to try out which many of us have been begging you to stop.
Seriously, I do not understand your priorities, of all the things that you could work on in WvW, why are you putting in more siege? WHY??? Are the countless threads complaining about the constant abuse of the broken siege mechanics not enough? It is stupid decisions like this that drives players away because of the heavily negative perception it instills in people minds.

Dear god, what the hell is wrong with people. Why would anyone even remotely consider voting on this? Are you not really aware of what this will mean? Like how are you gonna defend against a huge zone blob when you can not take down their rams, cattas, trebs? I mean this is tricky as it is anyway when outnumbered, so how on earth do you guys feel that this is a great idea?
This wont help defenders for the easy reason that if you have to use siege to defend, it means your side is undermanned. And the attacking side will be more powerful due to the repair hammer AND it wont stop them from taking our siege down for the simple reaso, that we are not immune to the insane amount of damage a blob throw at the siege, so repair hammer for defending side will be utterly useless!
So by all mean, all you guys that voted for this. How were you thinking? How are you even considering this to be a good thing?
But yes, I too think the message should be sent to everyone, not just those in WvW at a certain unknown time.
Terrible idea. WvWers don’t want the PvE kittens voting on WvW features when they have little to no idea what the actual impact will be.
Cuz people not playing WvW actively this very week/month will most certainly have no clue about WvW and thus don’t deserve to know there’s a poll going on; and every PvE:er is totally going to go in and vote on something that has 0 effect on their own gameplay just to be mean. I strongly doubt that.
Sometimes something as simple as a smile can give you away.

Cannons have caused no one to actually fight in wvw, it has replaced professions with cannon skills.

Why do you let people with zero experience in WvW vote? People should have at least 1k WvW rank before being allowed to vote, or maybe even better: ask the top guilds in WvW what to do. Or else you risk polls getting abused by PvE ppl who just to troll.
I request an immediate look at cannons by Anet. You can have 3 cannons right next to each other on a door to a gate or keep, completely negating any possible rams from going down. This forces catas, which can also be taken down by 3 more cannons placed on the wall. This is beyond ridiculous, there needs to be a range limit to how close cannons can be (including the already set tower/keep cannons), such as 1800 range, at the least, since it would cut down on a lot of this nonsense. It wouldn’t fully get rid of it, but it’d cut down on it.
