Got my new title and season 1 key using a ranger in less than 3 days. I’m not even interested in wvw haha! Thank you Crystal Desert players! and the invaders from IOJ and NSP for making it easy for me to get this over and done with.
Quite impressive to finish all the merc camps etc in 3 days. Are you a regular wvw player- and if not, did coming in to wvw make you feel like you would like to play wvw more? (as that seems to be Anet’s intention..or is it to ruin it with server lag, skill lag, huge queues..).

I’m only in WVW for the achivement points and map completion, i personally don’t enjoy WVW at all since zergfest + lag battles is not how i want to spend my time. So i’m glad this is over,so others can take my slot in wvw rather than queuing. Daily achievement takes around 30minutes for the wvw part so thats the most i spend everyday in wvw for the 3 wvw related dailies.
thanks bro! Been seeing alot of negative threads about the queue due to achivement hunters like me. I hope this would make the wvw players slightly relieved that their long queues to play WVW will soon be gone since it doesn’t take long to get the season 1 achivement done.
Once the edge of the mist is here in 2014,then it will be even less of a problem.
The guy plays WvW every day according to his own post.. probably has done so for months. I’d call that a WvW regular. Who cares about his reason as long as he pulls his weight? He certainly seems goal-oriented enough to contribute in whatever part of the map he is.
On the contrary I’ve played WvW since the very start. For a year I haven’t missed a day when I was logged on to kill some invaders. The last few days I didn’t play however because of the skill lag and because I’ve got kicked out in 5 seconds after my 2 hour queue popped. I have 2 out of however many achievments done and I had to log in after midnight just so I can get 10 kills. Guild raids are impossible also and I admit I really don’t care about achievments or meta or whatever. Please keep people like this out of my game mode so I can play it again.
Yea, I saw Achievement farming last night on JQ. Our Garrison was Double Teamed, one from each side, after an hour and a half, it flipped. Then went back and forth between the two realms 1/2 a dozen times. One would take it, the other would Blob us, then they would switch. The realm that controlled it moved off to attack us, while the realm doing the initial hold, pulled back into Garrison to take it passing the other realm on the way in.
Achievement Farming, or they decided to double team you coz they figured you had three easy weeks in gold league vs their one…which means they had to beat you down this week?
That said, grats on finishing the achieve quickly enough. =3 Although, I doubt pure PvE players will be as successful, since you at least have 30 min-1 hr daily experience in WvW.

I have 5300 something and i only wvw
grats I guess on the achievements, though I don’t understand why you would want them if you don’t play wvw (I couldn’t care less about the pve titles and achievements either), but to each their own.

I have only 6 of the 15 completed so far.
I have 10.5k achievements points and I would consider myself a WvW regular. Overall I think I’ve taken no more than 5 months off from WvW since release and I’m at 4/5 tier for WvW killer.
Remember many of the achievement points are based off of dailies.

thats why i appreciate the pve guys on our server, when they put their mind to something, they get it! Just need to keep their mind on enemy keeps, towers and sm , and you good! – Just a matter of time before we get our whole server in ascended gear and hard core achievers! ^.^

A lot of the activities in the achievements panel can be detrimental to PPT success if committed in the wrong time.
That said, not every server are fighting for 1st in leagues, and the achievements are very well suited for that.

You aren’t interested in wvw so I’m sure you are one of the players that cares about the achievements instead of the good of your server. Doing some of those achievements at the wrong time can hurt your server so I hope this helps prove to the dev’s that these AP additions will end up hurting the game mode in the long run. Have fun in PvE.

I never went out of my way to finish dailies. Especially back when there weren’t any wvw dailies. Oooh boy… I can’t imagine myself farming mats every single day. Just thinking about it makes me want to quit lol.
Now we have wvw dailies, so I don’t have to worry about it. If I get my daily today, cool. If I don’t, I couldn’t care less.
Im on NSP and haven’t gotten a single Merc Camp Vanquisher kill. What exactly qualifies for this achievment?
dredge, ogres, froggies/hylek are considered mercs
Yeah, this achievement is gonna take a while. I do think failed attempts count though, at least it seemed that way last night. Still need to actually look at the count and see what happens on a fail.

it only takes a while if youre a person who knows how to actually be important for your servers score and war efforts, because the really good people arent usually roaming in eb, and no one else should be capping mercs.

i command, i follow, i roam and scout, i be first response, i solo havok / run camps, i man siege. the only thing i dont waste time on usually is dueling.

If you mean the post about the achievements being stupid, I disagree. I think we all understand the reasoning behind the achievements. You are probably talking about the posts where people complain about achievement hunters. They don’t get that the achievements were added to get people into wvw to begin with. Just imagine how bad the numbers would have been without the achievements tied in. That would have ended up putting a stain on the “premier season” of wvw.
This way they get people in, they get big numbers, and the only people who pay for it are the dedicated wvw players. Anet’s made it pretty clear those are not their target audience anyway, so it’s a win win.
When your competitors can’t beat you in the game, they try to beat you with their words. In tpvp you can thrash talk with your opponent,in WVW its slightly more difficult.Its understandable why it spills into the forums.

I find it odd that I got Advanced Defender (450 kills) DAYS ago, yet I’m still tier 1 or 2 on everything else. Infact that’s the ONLY one I’ve finished apparently ….not that I’ve even cared until seeing this thread so now is literally the first time I’ve opened this panel. …this is …. I dunno what I’m even looking at here. I put down almost 500 YB’s (who actually DO know they’re doing by the way) while being “outgunned” on almost every map, ….and it’s only worth 20 points? while all this other PVD crap adds up to over 100 AP? Am I reading that right??? … I’m not even going to include the jump puzzles in this
