I’ve had downed state be both really lame and really fun. I was about to win a 2v1 when a ranger’s pet downed me during the stomp. Yes, it was dumb play on my part not to neutralize the pet before the stomp, but I was in a hurry. On the other hand, I was in a great 1v1 with another guardian and we both downed each other at the same time. The downed state fight went on for a good minute and was a fun element. I like that Anet is trying to add something new, but it needs some fixing/tweaking for sure…

I don’t like the downed state in PvP either. At the very least, the PvE part of it should be removed in PvP (i.e. you could not rally from an NPC), but I’d rather see it removed wholly and simply put all players directly to defeated state in PvP.

Maybe change it so that you only get damaged equipment when you use a waypoint to ress, to offset the fact that you will be defeated more.

Hopefully it will be tuned or removed in PvP. It doesn’t belong there. IMO.

Especial in defending War just stand and safaty go back to gate, as necro, others just die. And who cares about repair on WvW? when he live after 10 second of his death in 10 meters from place where you kill him. Sometimes it impossible kill 1 vs 1 necro underwater. He just healed when damage you and go up and loose downed state too….
Mesmer clones is trush. Becouse it only good for 1-2 build. For other builds it really suck. And btw any DoT make second skill (cloneinvisibility useless), becouse you in same time when cloned loose invisibility. And funny – thiefs dont get such thing. If it invisible – he stay it this state. I like pala and elem ability – they really intresting and make harder finish kill. but they not imba as insta revive….

Agree take the kitten downed state out of the game, OR leave it in for second chance noobs but provide servers without the option

I love the downed state in WvW.

1. Forces you to think about whether you want to slow your allies down healing your stupidly dead corpse.

2. Forces allies to think about whether your stupidly dead corpse is worth reviving.

3. Stomping, resisting the stomp, stabilizing, bubbling and FIGHTING OVER A FRIEND WHO IS DOWN is hilariously fun to me.

Completely agree. It’s a fine mechanic in PvE. I don’t play sPvP. But it is just annoying in WvW. Elementalists who go downed in front of a keep and mist their way in, the extraordinary annoying guardian push-back downed skill. The thief downed skills, the mesmers. It makes zerging much easier.

It’s not so much a last chance mechanic but rather a battle changing one. Enemies who go downed and manage to rally on some mob on 1% hp (before the fight) is just silly. It needs to be nerfed, or just removed completely.

The downed state has no place in spvp or wvw imo. Especially since classes (eg theives) are able to finish people off much easier then other people. They just pop stealth and bam they are done. It makes things so unfair its just ridiculous remove the downed state from everything besides pve.

Is anyone in your group built to help counter stealth-stomping?
