—-Suggestion—-

Introduce a ‘balance queue’ system to Edge of the mists that only allows EQUAL numbers to join!

For example, if Green has 50 players, Blue has 40 and Red only has 20. Then the system should prevent any further Green players joining until both Blue and Red have 50 players as well, then allow another 10 in at a time per team.

Since the “outnumbered” buff is absolutely useless, and you cannot do anything versus an enemy thats 2-10times larger, balancing numbers is the only way forward.

There are already multiple ‘overflow’ sessions, so why is this not already implemented?

The system should ‘funnel’ players to maps that require people. So, from a player perspective, you shouldn’t actually even see or experience a queue delay to enter a map because there is bound to be an overflow somewhere that needs you.

Why bother? Eotm is a 3 way karma train. No one actually goes there to do anything except get karma and level alts.

So you wish to suggest a mechanic that prevents players from enjoying content? Why punish a server because another one has no desire to join the map? This game isn’t just about you mate. If one side has 80 players, and the other side has 10, that’s their choice.

I imagine that instead of complaining about a 20 vs 40, people will be complaining about how their side is 75% uplevels while the other side is only 50% uplevels.

Honestly, I’ve been in maps where the enemy ktrain blob thing was a lot bigger than ours, and it only mattered maybe once every 30-45 minutes or so. There’s the potential for a morale problem if the commander doesn’t manage the situation, but it really isn’t ruinous to how people normally play the game.

This past week, the blue side has been seriously and consistently outnumbered when I play. I know that happens sometimes but I can’t figure out if I’m just ending up on a low population overflow while others are on a “full” server or if Blue is just that disinterested.

I don’t think load balancing the population is really the answer but it has been frustrating.

Hilarious.

The doors are overpowered in EotM. For a 50-man well-organized team, it could take almost a minute to open a door. Using siege would make it quicker but thats not the point! The doors should be balanced like revolving doors, or sliding doors we can see in real life. The karma shops should welcome customers, not try to keep them out.

red and blue has most time outnumbered buff and best part on this is it is outnumbered on much more than only 1 eotm server

you can join friends on their servers and its everywhere same

its a rly stupid system to open endless eotm servers for the green zerkmachine and bring only some people per server on the other sides

when not enough red or blue people than green should be sent to red or blue side and fill it – and no new server before not all sides full

I’ve noticed the unstoppable green machine myself. I’m relatively new to the game but in the last month I’ve had one EotM experience where I did not have the outnumbered buff. The unstoppable green machine is always sporting more numbers than China and India combined. WvW was originally my favorite part about the game but I’m quickly losing interest when my team (blue) is so outmatched that green has time to take their territory, all of reds territory, port back and stop us from finishing our own territory at the start of a new match. There needs to be some balancing of teams badly. Hopefully before I completely lose interest with 15% map control.

Green is usually the worst side in WvW.

So the extra supplies they get from EotM are supposed to help em out a bit.

I think it’s an issue with team distribution.

…as in it doesn’t work at all.

Same teams, are the same colours week after week.

I don’t think the actual WvWvW colours should determine EotM placement. Truly randomize it or at least make it impossible to be the same colour for more than 2 weeks.

so what you’re saying is: Anet decided to help the green servers by making them a zerg of 80-90 people againt the other colors with 30-40 people so the green servers get extra supply??

During season 2 my server ended up last each week. So that was 9 weeks of red on top of other weeks of red. The outnumbered buff in EoTM was awesome during those 9 weeks. Picking off pieces of the zerg and everytime the zerg died to defenders holding something paid even better than open world hunting. Love the outnumbered buff. Does it make you stronger, no and it shouldn’t. But it does encourage people to fight versus Pvdoor. Good hunting.

EotM was designed as an overflow for WvW. Placing a pop balance on it would defeat it’s intended purpose.

And yet how often do people who mainly play wvw even bother with eotm? My experience is that most people would rather sit in a queue. I’d say that the map’s intended purpose isn’t even utilized.

I’d just ask the dev’s to lower the map capacity 50% at least, that would spawn more maps and more maps would be equal.

but I think the first live session when the map cap wasn’t in place freaked em out lol cause that was gnarly I’m sure on their side heh.

@OP: Even if the numbers are even, the 3 sides are way to unbalanced. The map is pretty, but is not designed for competitive play at all.
