Just wondering what you guys enjoyed in WvW recently.

For me, it’s how quickly the tides can turn. Recently, I was investigating the cause of the timer in Bay. After searching the South Gate, walls, Water Gate and North West gate, I located a zerg with 4 rams on the North Gate. The un-upgraded gate was going down fast!

I called out on map chat, but no one answered and we had no siege up. Playing a guardian, I tried to bump people off their rams with shield skill #5, but at that very moment, the gate went down! I felt like I was caught naked by this big zerg.

I ran towards the inner keep, but I noticed a blue shield on the mini map! My zerg was moving towards the top of the gate. I knew the enemy zerg had their eyes on me and in their hurry to bag me, they didn’t notice my zerg up top. I slowed to a walk as the enemy zerg rushed towards me and engaged me in combat, to have my own zerg eat them up from behind.

I survived and managed to tag quite a number of them.

My favourite moment was logging on one morning to see the 5000 point lead we had accrued over 4 days had been wiped out by night-cappers.

This was after season one. We don’t normally get to go to EB but we got a night off and got to do reset there. We were in the middle of your basic SM lord room fight when our commander died and had to port to spawn and run back. None of our other regular commanders had gotten in and the one who had died was our backup. He called for someone to tag up until he got back, and nobody could/would. At this time our Lord and Savior, Jedsus Chris, started shouting orders. Directing the zerg about the lord room. A few minutes later the losing battle we had been fighting was over, but with us having pushed them out and defended SM.

The kicker? Jed commanded the whole thing from LA.

There was this time were there were 2 two armies camping outside our spawn point, full of acs, and because we were invulnerable, everybody just stood there spamming emotes. No fighting as that is not what WvW and the tournament are about. It is about politics. It is not in the screenshot, but later we held a referendum, there was a debate, a political campaign, an election. #goodtimes

my favourite moments have been and always will be… big garrison fights that last hours. Sadly, you don’t see many of these anymore.

Week 15:
Friday at 15:25, Deso is 4800 points ahead Baruch. And, in the most epic and amazing afternoon I’ve ever experienced, we manage to catch Deso and finally win them for just 396 points.
From those ~4800, only 2700 were from ticks. The control of ruins was astonishing, not letting Deso to have the buff.
Don’t know why, but around 17:00 Deso forgot about ruins and they let the epicness to be real.

One time i capped watercamp, stood there for 30sec and saw 3 thieves coming in, 3sec after they stealthed i dodged and used my sword evades just to see 3 thieves downed by supervisor ( this was before they nerfed its damage, still have to laugh when i think about it).

And i pretty much enjoy all the people whining and moaning when they see a ranger and engage me thinking im an easy kill but they get killed.

watching our commander say “FOLLOW ME!” then proceed to pick the wrong side of the cliff and sent the entire zerg to their deaths quickly followed by a “DON’T FOLLOW ME!”

My favorite moment hasn’t happened yet, but hopefully soon; When HoD implodes lol

Every morning after reset night, when I go to bed winning/with close PPT and wake up 30k behind. It’s always wonderful. So much coverage skills.

I was in the bottom of t2~3 server for a long long time before I transfer.
Trust me, I see this A LOT, way more than you could ever imagined.
This might be news for one certain stacking server, but it is no news for others.

In related news, I read somewhere that C-SPAN is acquiring the TV rights for Season 3 of WvW.
Imagine, you will be able to see your toon not fighting and spamming all those emotes for the whole country to see. The possibilities!

Running around, seeing that thief, thinking “Ha, easy kill”, then his party of condi/perplex mesmers and thieves come out of stealth…

Reset nights are fun when you’re facing new/unknown opponents.

My favourite moment is probably when we stopped Vizunah Golem Rush on Deso BL AND EB , then they attempted to take SM and also failed, but they ended up dropping fireworks all over SM which was a nice gesture.

Once during an assault on the green EB keep, I ran up to a treb on the lighthouse vista, took it down and the guy manning it and proceeded to knock 4 people that followed me off as they tried to jump up to me. Then, our trebs took out the wall with the stairs that allowed you to get up there. I then sat on top of the lord room dome thing and spammed /wave at the enemy zerg that couldn’t deal with me until they got rebuilt the wall. I ended up logging off before that happened though.

Guild had about 12-14 people online and guild leader wanted to try a new tactics which included massive stealth and fast movement. Not really thinking about it, we moved around the eb map practicing and figuring out how to work the tactic and we ended up between blue spawn and blue keep.
We stopped and started talking about something, and suddenly we see a lone blue player heading towards us. Just as the person is about to collide with us, our stealth runs out and we could almost see the ‘oooooh s**t’ that the player behind the toon said when he suddenly found himself inside an enemy guild group.

Best moment was when our guild + some pugs were working on a borderlands map towards the end of the season.

Apparently we had caused enough of a fuss that we brought down the wrath of both the other servers. Somehow, at one point we found ourselves pinned between both enemy zergs in an open field. We were the smallest of the three and the furthest from our spawn as well.

We played to our strengths, and continued to hold our ground against both forces. It turned into a big bag farm and in the end our little group was the last man standing.

It felt good to be the “last zerg standing” after the massacre. On paper, there was no way we should have won! A great way to end the night!

You mean the ruins that SFR were guarding them you? And wouldnt let us take control of any of the ruins to let bb keep them, you double teamed with them every match up, you ruined the gold league, no surprise that you and sfr are 1st and 2nd at the end #yawn

Season 2 week one, awesome threeway in the TCBL garrison: BG zerg in lord’s room, us inside at inner gate/wall and TC zerg on the bridge to the right with their endless stream of people coming from spawn. It felt like everyone in TCBL was there. Each zerg kept pushing at the others while contesting lord’s room so that BG could not cap, and the battle was intense for ~1h or so. BG won in the end and capped the garrison, but it was a kitten fine fight!
