Twas your fault really, 4 hours and no match up post this week? You were slacking!

Hey DH.. When you do break out events, please tell your yak to wait until you break the gate open before coming into the tower. This was very rude of him just coming through a closed gate uninvited.
Let’s ask tootsie.
This is a shout out to the Darkhaven female Thief Commander from [Jade], you are really good. We always have a hard time against you and your guild, you guys are good at pvp. People on my server actually tell us to stay away from you guys, lol.
Shout out to [RH] guild in GoM. You are making WvW challenging! When I run into a group of RH with my Jade buddies, it always ends up in an interesting fight.
Also, when I’m in GoM BL running with a zerg, don’t always target me… We Jade guys aren’t op in solo play (at least for me hehe). Organisation is our strength. When you see a party of 5 Jade, I suggest you run .
-Spidel [Jade]
To the Hod Thief in the guild [HD], kind of sad that you can’t kill a level 13 mesmer in EB JP right now.

Happy valentines, people <3 This was but a small portion of HoD that dressed in pink (and red) this evening for WvW! I figured since you all only see us in REDREDRED, I’d post up a picture. You know, so you could see the effort we put in to look nice.
Few screens of the action tonight.
1st screen: some sweet fights against DH in their borderlands.
2nd screen: It was time to strike theirs BFFs, so we took the fight to DoH borderlands.
(Yes, we know your secret, Dark of Haven)
Overall very fun night, good fights everyone!

Yikes, DH is really starting to run away with the score now that we had to stop and deal with HoD.
Kinda a lil BS that the points kept ticking during that wednesday morning maintenance, we did have a couple thousand lead on HoD then lost it due to it. DH just has the stronger night crew, that what it seems to really boil down too.

Yea WvW comes down to coverage and numbers. The only way to really progress in the tiers is to have a decent amount of both it seems. Oh well, T7 is where it’s at anyways…

Population is all it takes to move up. Any problem can be solved by throwing an endless stream of people at a gate until it falls (see Kaineng). That said, I much prefer the play-style here in the lowers. Less coverage means you have to pick and choose your targets, and fortune favors the mobile over the entrenched. Even small party tactics can span all four maps thanks to the lack of queues.
DH does have more people and better coverage than GoM and HoD, but not enough to be unbeatable in this tier. However, HoD seems to be more content with fighting over table scraps than making a push to actually try to win. 2nd place = still lose.

HoD picking up table scraps? Funny how we call GoMs scavengers then. You can bet your bottom dollar that if DH is making a major push in HoD you will find GoM lurking around to pick up what DH does not take. Prime example was when DH was pushing our keeps GoM went and scavenged the supply camps. Or yesterday when HoD was busy in EB on the left side of the map, GoM was pushing us on the eastern flank yet as soon as DH backed off GoM disappeared. Then again I keep forgetting about the non-aggression pact GoM has with DH. My bad!

This whole conversation is ridiculous. They have people that wanna attack us and we have people that wanna attack them (people that aren’t me but whatever). Let’s all just roll with it. That’s what it takes.
Non-aggression pact? Really?
Edit: A pact would look like this:
Henge of Denravi and Darkhaven folk,
You have marvellous eyes and mischievous smiles that have captured tier 7’s heart. Happy Valentine’s Day, I hope you enjoy the badges I drop.
But Darkhaven, you keep winning. What’s up with that? Henge of Denravi, are we going to let them keep winning? We’ve been doing this so long, Henge of Denravi, let’s try something new.
Let’s be crazy. Let’s play Guild Wars 2 without our pants on. Also let’s ignore each other’s borderlands on Friday and double team Darkhaven. We’ll occupy them there, leave our borderlands safe to build up and we’ll see how the score is on Saturday and whether our new arrangement works for us.
What do you say? Will you romp through the sunny fields of 2v1 with me?

Entirely not true. Having played Kaineng in tier3, we could always overcome their numbers in NA primetime with better play. Kaineng’s strength is the War Machine guild, which can cause queues in multiple maps while most servers are asleep. Without War Machine, Kaineng would be stuck in tier4.
Then again I keep forgetting about the non-aggression pact GoM has with DH. My bad!
Someone please tell the large murderous packs of DH that keep smashing me in the ground with impunity about this non aggression pact. They didn’t seem to get the memo on that one. Hahahaha.
I think the reality of it is that DH has a bigger number and coordination advantage than we do, so when we try to take their stuff we are met with some overwhelming defense at times and we just can’t seem to break through until our night crew shows up. At least that’s the logic I keep seeing in /team chat. So we go where we can get points and often times that means we are pointed in HoD’s direction. I suspect that what is also happening on your side of the fence? Regardless what should be happening is a GoM + HoD alliance to help bring DH down a little bit. As it stands those guys are hard to beat in this tier alone.
Also, I have never had my corpse danced on or /laughed at more than by DH guys. I guess 10v1 isn’t as funny from my perspective (from the floor, haha). Either way despite the loses we keep taking I’ve been having fun with both HoD and DH. However, I will not be sad to see DH go when they finally (hopefully soon) break the magical t7 barrier and head into T6. Gotta love the Glicko system.

I can’t say I can get on your high horse. My guild 10v1 all the time in Darkhaven borderlands and we have people that stop to /laugh and /dance now and then. War ain’t pretty. I don’t mean to alarm you but those people wish us harm!
My guild and I must have missed the memo on the non-aggression pact with GoM…our bad!
Regardless, there have been some insanely fun battles, I tip my hat to GoM and HoD.

You really shouldn’t be talking about servers as a whole in this context. GoM has attacked us at the same time as dh. This has happened many times when we were in last place by a non-trivial margin. You might not try to fight over “scraps.” However, everyone on your server doesn’t feel the same way.
Personally, I’m more concerned about finding a good fight when I go into WvW; winning for the week carries little to no meaning or significance. I tend to harass GoM more because I think my odds of finding good GoM (capital G) players is higher than finding someone good on dh (lowercase d).

OMG! No way! I thought we were all friends now since we can’t seem to get enough of each other week after week. I mean there has to be a reason why we are all sticking around in t7 together!
All joking aside the 10v1 doesn’t bother me nor does the dancing/laughing. I take it for what it is and have a good time. I just sit there and hope that maybe I delayed 10 people from an important meeting they were trying to get to. Haha.

Agreed. Kaineng’s oceanic crew (WM+SoS and others) can win most of their match-ups for them in the mid tiers. But I don’t think you realize the population difference over in T7. Here, 20-30 people on one map is a zerg. Pushing for 40+ pretty much leaves all the other maps undefended.

I actually like HoD, so I’m sorry if my words came across otherwise. You’ve got some good folk and are a joy to fight against.
But, neither GoM nor HoD can tackle DH’s full force head on. We both know this because this match-up has been going on forever now. For either of our servers to have a chance at winning, DH must be kept off-balance so their PPT stays manageable. They’ll definitely make up some points in the off-peak hours, but at least the scores will be much closer. Then, Thursdays/Fridays can be a mad dash for the finish line instead of us duking it out over 2nd place while DH squashes us both.
Having to log in and go take back our keeps from HoD just wastes time that we could be spending on suppressing DH’s score output.

I mean, I honestly cannot be sure of their intentions because they never talk to me but their body language (which includes swinging swords and hurtling fireballs in my face) seems to suggest as much. So while I am not 100%, I did want to warn you of my suspicions.
1 person tying up 10 people is pretty heroic. Yesterday we broke into Bay at Darkhaven and there was only 1 [Mort] guy defending the lord room and that’s the sorta guy I’d buy a beer for.

That same guy went down fighting later on in the Hills lord room as well. DH needs to canonize that guy.
They should build a statue to commemorate his bravery. Maybe put it up in Stonemist in place of the useless NPC in there. Instead of having to kill the lord to claim the keep they should make it so everyone has to /dance next to this glorious statue. :-P

Well that’s what MoRt does! I know the RH Guild has seen that one Sylvari Elementalist from MoRt running around trying to defend at night. First I would like give mad props to her. Then once I get word of whats going on, the cavalry arrives!

I wonder if we ever bumped into each other in a fun filled duel??
Let’s ask tootsie.
A GoM/HoD vs DH week would be quite interesting. I know that we at GoM have made some great pushes into DH, but usually we lose momentum because we need to fend off opportunistic HoD (it’s a good tactic, no disrespect intended to HoD). I’m sure that HoD can tell similar stories from their perspective.
Our tier is essentially a prisoner’s dilemma for GoM and HoD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prisoner%27s_dilemma). You never know if the other guys is going to “flip” and “rat you out.” The best outcome is if both people trust each other, but what usually happens is that both people flip.
This happens to us in T7 constantly, and every time GoM and HoD “flip” on each other, it benefits DH greatly. In theory, if GoM and HoD both leave each other alone, they could get first and second place, instead of just fighting over second. But you never know if you can trust the other guy, and so it usually turns into a battle for second place.
But all of this makes me intensely curious. If we could overcome the prisoner’s dilemma, would DH end up in third place? I would love to try it out for a week if everyone is on board.
(Edit: After a quick rereading of the Wiki link, I think this is not technically an official prisoner’s dilemma, because the benefit of both teams cooperating is actually better than if only one team betrays. Nevertheless, it is similar enough for the analogy to work.)

This pretty much sums up my point. DH stomped our territory in EB while HoD took our borderland. Now that our players are logging in and starting to reclaim our borderland, DH has started to push HoD (who are caught between defending what they took from GoM as well as their own land).
End result: Easy victory for DH.
Yea, we aren’t really doing ourselves any favors when it comes to dealing with DH the way we are, but getting two whole servers to get into an agreement such as what would be required takes trust and I just don’t know if that’s there. I’d love it if it was though.

Update from one hour later.
C’mon, Henge. I tried to warn ya. :/
DH would love it too. You guys should really… REALLY…. consider it.
Meh, I stand by what I said. Currently DH is zerging HoD heavily, and where is GoM? In HoD. DH is not attacking GoM in their BL nor is GoM taking advantage with DHs forces in HoD and attacking DH. I mean the pictures speak a thousand words.

Not sure what you are smoking.. Did you see last night? We painted GoM mostly green last night with efforts from MoRt, MERC, SOS, and my guild [SE].

I for one have no interest in any teaming up. I like to roam an kill both servers. Like this afternoon how Barvost gate was wide open ( Dh had it. ) and there were 2 GoM inside. That was an easy cap for HoD. After I called for help taking down the boss.
I would love to see us leave HoD alone, and see it reciprocated. I try to tell our folks in map chat that focusing on HoD cause it’s, for the moment, easier is only going to bite us in the kitten in the long run. This is not only because we set ourselves up for a random double team (not planned, just coincidental) but because I’ve noticed HoD is amazing at capitalizing on weaknesses (whether it be taking SM right before it’s snagged or taking towers while the other two servers battle). I think HoD and GoM attacking from different flanks would finally give DH a run for its money; I’ve noticed that while DH has some amazingly skilled folks their zergs can be beat 1v2 almost every time. It’s a bit crappy that a team up, or a cease fire (at the least), could be what makes an even matchup but no one is saying the WvW system is perfect.
Realized I made it sound like HoD were a bunch of vultures; far from it. Ya’ll are, for the most part, very civil, skilled, and fun to play with (the JP salutes say it all). I was merely referencing your low population and its impact on strategy.
KotS (Knights of the Cruciform Sword) GoM
It doesn’t take an alliance or even a cease fire. All I’m preaching is that if you notice your opponent doing something that HELPS you, use common sense and leave ’em the kitten alone.
Simple example: HoD is hitting DH’s borderlands hard. GoM can either go grab free stuff in HoD’s borderlands (which will cause HoD to stall out in DH bl and return to defend, which leaves DH with high PPT and minimal gains for HoD/GoM), or GoM can go wreck house on DH’s side of eternal battlegrounds (splits DH forces, both GoM and HoD benefit from higher PPT, and DH has to spend more time recapping before making their own push). Which sounds like the better plan?
loving the blood bath in DH BL. really good fights. You guys really like sunnyhill, nice vacation spot im sure =D
