Fun because of the Season?
Its a bit strange how they reward zerging so much…..all i gotta say.
Can’t wait for 40vs40 in Wildstar

youre going to be soarly disappointed then, the gameplay is basically a higher def wow, they call it dynamic combat like Gw2s but it was clunky and awkward as well

We will see……the large scale pvp cant be worse then zerg warfare here…
What is this “fun” you speak of? I know no such thing
In all seriousness, so far I’ve had less fun than I imagined was possible. I hoped the season would do atleast some good to the wvw scene, but so far I don’t really see it. It looks pretty much exactly the same as before, with the exception that you now know which servers you will face in the future and with more lag.
Now the season is here, I don’t see it’s purpose. Anet says things will stay the same after the season ends, so what’s going to be the difference between a wvw season and when it’s not in season? From my pov, it begins to look more and more like an excuse to not update WvW for 7 weeks wrapped in a giftbox. The achievements are ok I guess, but really that’s how it should’ve been from the beginning anyway.
The only thing keeping me in this game atm is my guild. These days I only login for either a 3-hour wvw raid or a GvG. Other than that the game lost my interest.

Hate to admit it, but the meta-achievements brought me back to WvW lol. But of course I made sure it wasn’t at my server’s performance expense while grinding for ’em :]
The rise in participation in WvW also made it more exciting.

what makes you think the 40v40 wont be a zergfest as well, its important to remember though, many organized guilds run those “zergs” as well, the most common being solid blocks or pvt melee trains
Good=There is a lot of squishy fish to eat out there. When you can actually get on.
Server: Anvil Rock
Play style: 90% WvW, I go to PvE only for living story.
Fun: Tons! No ques or lag on AR, having fun competing with guildies about season 1 achieves. We got rolled in our first match, but were in second when I was on last night.
WvW has hardly changed for us lower tier servers.
Running in a circle in ruins capping points 50 times is everything I’ve ever wanted out of WvW.
I can’t wait to do the same with the EB merc camps.
Aside from that nonsense though, it’s been alright. Actually had a reasonable match for once which I wasn’t expecting to see in NA silver league. And then came week 2 and +685 ppt…
The extra activity keeps things interesting during peak hour but over the Oceanic-SEA-European timezones it’s as much a mess as ever. The server with the best coverage gets to keep their upgrades, while the other two start from scratch every day.

Ferg Crossing – NA Bronze
I play half WvW half PvE
The season has increased the fun in WvW, by a lot. More people, still no real waits, more fighting. Overall a vast improvement to WvW. Our guild has 30-40 members attend our WvW nights, so we enjoy the increased competition.
Gandara, silver EU
~20% following WvW badge and ~5% whenever I can find people to roam with. The rest is LS, soloq, dungeon runs, mini games and basically anything else GW2 has to offer.
Having loads of fun in WvW since league started.
Also, OP, you might not want to assume too much, since forums are still pretty much a cesspool of negative (and for the most part useless) feedback on pretty much any topic.
1. Maguuma / Gold League
2. WvW
3. Many more bags than normal, I guess it’s fun. Killing people who think they are great at the game because they are stuck to a commander’s kitten while spamming 1 in a queued zerg feels pretty good. It sucks that the score ends up to lopsided due to huge differentials in coverage. Even if we were to tryhard (and it certainly feels like tryharding during NA prime at the moment, although Maguumans will never admit it) everything gets flipped overnight. The whole idea of arbitrarily setting servers into leagues without regard to their population/coverage is possibly one of the dumbest ideas Anet has had to date. I would assume that the rewards will be junk, otherwise it will be the dumbest thing Anet has never done.
The people who have positive feedback are probably from server with good zergs and coverage. If you are not on those kind of server, but instead get double teamed for the rest of the 7 weeks (The potential 2nd place server in any match usually get double teamed), I would image some server wide rage quit of the game. I don’t know how league is rated if not by ptt, truth is half of the servers will lose by whatever reasons. Those people may not want to do this league again.
Last week yeah, this week no. Major blowout because we do not have the numbers to go up against highest of the bronze league.
Pretty much gonna be a blowout for us (DR) every week as there is always one server ranked way higher than us. Atleast before the league we only faced servers close to our ranking and had good match ups.
Since this started WvW is bad realy always aggaints servers that Outnumber us 24/7 and basically base camp us at our spawn point we cant even get back our own borderland there was nothing like this befor this whole season started now the servers with more pve players dominate in WvW bicous of zerg numbers….
-Total War: Warhammer
-Guild Wars 2
1. (Server): Underworld, Silver league.
2. (Playstyle): Mainly pve, some pvp, some wvw. (Now focussing 90% on wvw though)
3. (Fun): Less enjoyable than it was before the season. And that’s not because of lag or que times (Don’t have ques at all in underworld..) it’s because we’re against opponents that have far more players than we do and really seems strange that we’re on silver league at all.
1. (Server): Stormbluff Isle. Silver League
2. (Playstyle): WvW and PvE. Mainly play WvW these days.
3. (Fun): Yes, I have had a lot of fun. Fort Aspenwood wouldn’t have brought the numbers they did if it wasn’t a season, and that made our match up fun as hell. I also like the new scoring system. It is much better than that crappy one they had before the season started. The fights have also been bigger as well, which is more fun.
1. (Server): Vabbi – Bronze
2. (Playstyle): WvW only
3. (Fun): the season itself: none. I did have fun of course, else I wouldn’t play, but nothing unusual. Blobs, lagg, server unbalance… well I don’t think it will be worth playing until they fix all that.
