Let the games begin!

I really enjoyed last weeks fights, lets hope we all have many more like it xD

Hopefully the tone will be a bit more civil in this thread and a bit less whiney than last week. However I can already see a rather obvious issue with that >.<

A record low turnout for GH at reset, coming week is likely down to the barebones of dedicated WvW’ers as each server’s “pug” see the same matchup and assume the same outcome.

Hopefully we can rectify that, as last week’s was actually very balanced imo and having multiple weeks with same opponents should imply a closer and therefore more enjoyable tier. Most MMO’s you have same opponents for years and I think the implication that it CAN change here is actually harmful (as well as having visible scores) as if people feel outmatched they just wait for it to do so, instead of trying to fix it.

So, here’s hoping that the week can bring some positivity

I think you’re right with the notion that the visible scores and the weird perception that the opponents should change every week is actually harmful for the participation in WvW.

Yesterday, when we saw that we only got 80 points during the afternoon we only managed to field 15-20 people on our borderlands (on the community TS; There were probably a few randoms too), which was then, understandably, heavily targeted by GH, who wanted to overtake us, which they eventually managed.
I think the ability to view the score live has kept less dedicated WvWers away, because they didn’t want to join a lost cause and get beaten by superiour numbers repeatedly.

That said, I hope the coming week will be fun. Pointwise it was a decent matchup, but at prime time during the week FS was able to field vastly more people than GH and AM. GH and AM seem to have their best time at different times (GH in the morning and AM late at night). The most even it got was funnily around lunchtime. I hope this matchup will bring more even fights.

Really well done Gunnars! Pulling the score back after last night is impressive.

Last night went exactly like we expected it would. I had a lot of fun with the guildies trying our hand at Zerg busting, and there were plenty of zergs to choose from lol. This week im not guna look at the score too much and just enjoy farming badges instead.

This was pretty much the constant look of the borderlands throughout last nights reset.
Looks familiar doesnt it….. Kinda hope that FsP will drop their grudge against Xaoc at some point but i doubt it.

I’m sorry to say they got into a bit of a scrape with some local ruffians, we ask everyone please do not disregard the warning signs as they are there for your safety. There has been more than 1 occasion in recent days I have seen discussions among commanders, in /m and /t chat, about FSP players (not about specific ppl, just our players in general) that have taken a derogatory tone.
I’d like to point out that while a zerg with no commander is nothing, a commander with no zerg amounts to even less. 100g buys you a nice shiny blue triangle but it does not buy you respect or a god-given right to have people worshipping at your feet.
You would do well to remember we’re all just playing a game and no-one here is better or worse than anyone else regardless of whether or not they possess the ‘blue shiny’.
So pull your heads out of your kittens and just get on with playing the game please.

I dont agree with you here on this, i’ve been playing a lot of WvW the last 2 weeks (8-10 hours a day) and we got some very talented Commanders on FSP and they really know what they are doing.The problem is that people wont listen because why does a Commander have to say every 2 minutes stay on me, dont charge 1 or 2 mobs, leave the sentry alone, pick up supplies etc. etc..

I personally think we should appreciate the Commanders a bit more because they spend boatloads of Gold on siege weapons on daily bases. If i was a Commander and would have to repeat the same things over and over again i also would get short fused at times. All i can say is good job FSP Commanders and keep up the good work!!!!

Getting the feeling FsP thought Gunnars needed loads of loot bags in EB this evening. Was really good of you guys to bring them to our keep for us as well.

I know everyone has different opinions of what is ‘banter’ but maybe I should’ve added ego-pumping to the list, dear oh dear!

I’ve had an odd week sleep-wise myself so I’ve barely been able to consistently been online but it’s been fairly up and down. Just finished leveling my alt so been playing that, lots and lots of “Prepare to defend Overlook” mostly but there’s been some fun scraps around.

FSP clearly pushing to get out of the bracket and end this 4week+ matchup, whilst it seems GH/AM are having a population split of “We can still come second!” and “Let’s give up so we move down and get someone new”. Myself.. I will always put the effort in and whilst I have enjoyed the fights (mostly), I do think it’s time for something new.. so I have a conflict of interests :P

It’s difficult to determine what exactly is causing us to have this big lead already after barely 3 days.
If you say we have more people, yes i agree, although sundays always seem quite active on our server as there are multiple guild events going on.
But it also seems both GH and AM are putting out a lot less people than past week.
So even though it may look like we are much stronger if you look just at the points, i really don’t think we are.

2 weeks ago we got stomped by AG, which was kind of the least powerful T4 server at that moment. No doubt they still are much more powerful than us, especially now since they got atleast one big wvw guild that transferred from piken this week.
So we are kind of stuck between T5 and T4 it seems.
Its very possible that after next week we may have enough ratings to get into T4, but i don’t foresee a good outcome there for us :p

Not really that difficult to understand.

When you win more of your player base start participating. If you lose less and less people show up.

FSP COULD be trying a bit harder to do points instead of just play cat and mouse with us – like try to hold the stuff with a few people instead of just give it back all the time and then flip it again with huge zerg 10 minutes later.. we learned from Xaoc this is the nice way to play so other servers dont get beaten week after week after week by the same server.. also what Rhymelark said, i can only talk for Gunnar’s, but i know there was a lot more people 2 weeks ago. But me myself i burned out in that time, i think all servers have less people these times, WvW participation is dropping.. only not FSP for some reason. For example look at the bottom servers, there is a lot more almost-dead server then 2 months ago. Population is decreasing overrall.

Not at all. I’m playing other games atm, have barely logged in past few weeks. I just picked up on a trend in your posting style is all. You seem obsessed with posting about every skirmish you win against FSP, while throwing in some attempted humorous (or not) trolling of FSP.

I generally avoid posting like this but due to being focused by FsP for the last few weeks im more interested in posting about little skirmishes than the score. The score is no longer a true reflection of GH strength due to it being a 2v1 50% of the time. I believe FsP are a more powerful server but not by much

So yea im posting about our skirmishes as they were a lot of fun and its about the only way of prodding the bitter beast that is FsP. There is no way im guna boast about the score lol.

This,exactly…Lots of ppl still pretend they do not know to build a ram when it gets placed , and the need remains to say…Build the ram !..AOE the wall…Grab supps….and ppl suddenly splitting from your party,taking 10minutes to regroup,complain youre to fast while it is they that are to slow etc etc…XIao..Please,get that tag so you can feel the frustration yourself.

That’s why I always try to get atleast 5-10 guildies with me and on TS. It makes commanding pug’s easier, because you will always have your guildies with you. (its easier for people to follow the big grp, they can do some of the typing for you,…)

On the flip side, I am a bit disappointed that PRXM just roll over and die so easily. Multiple times your 15+ groups have been wiped by my group of 5 (one being under leveled, mind you). I find it extraordinarily boring to simply walk over you guys whenever I see you on the field, after hearing all your talk on the forums.

Please PRXM, for the sake of this match up, and for the sake of my fun, please try to not be interrupted during your work experience sessions, as it seems your skills are severely lacking for the task of wiping even the smallest of groups.

Oh my god… maybe we play in different games… we’ve very few ppl, especially compared to yours… and in this thread a FS said this as well, so not only we of GH… if we can do a group of 20 ppl (and only when we’re very lucky, 30ppl… very few situations) we’re lucky!!!

Last night we couldn’t take back Anza in four times because of a FS zerg of 30-40 ppl and we were 15… really, I don’t know where you play…

Just because you fight against superior numbers it does not automatically make you better players. Our servers are all pretty much on the same level, sometimes we win sometimes we loose, sometimes we do stupid things and have big fails, it’s part of the game.

Besides, don’t complain too much about our numbers, everyone in T4 and above has way more than us and more hardcore wvw guilds, so be glad you have us here instead of Aurora, Riverside or Baruch bay.

I wasn’t complaining, I was answering to Gab, maybe I didn’t understand his sarcasm.
Numbers… it’s a fact but it isn’t a problem, we have to fight at our best and that’s all, I haven’t complained about it.

And your point about how someone write to look better than he is, it is true about many ppl in wvw discussions, GH, FS, and so on… honestly I think only AM didn’t do that. But in this thread there wasn’t such a post, except for two ppl, but ok that happens.

we have PLENTY small groups looking for small scaled fights but from our viewpoint everyone from GH just runs along with xaoc and their blob.
so i also preferred fighting AG for the nice skrims.

Yea we do wipe a few times a evening. Never to 5ppl tho. Maybe your 5 guildies with a traditional 20+ fsp zerg behind you.
Next time i see you guys ill make sure everyone know to fear you though and just /sleep as you arrive Ogreat mighty one.

In fact, FS can capture our entire borderland with just 5 people. One underleveled with starting gear on, 3 afk, and the last one crushing our massive 240 people zerg with his godlike powers and massive ego. That is if he can be bothered with it, and can spare the time from keeping his ego from gravitational collapse.

Any guilds up for GvG’s and duel’s one night? Not for bragging rights or trolling purposes, just to have fun and add variety to a match-up that’s growing rather stale. It might be a good way to get to know one another, for good or bad it’s likely we’ll be facing each other a lot in the months to come.

Okay first off, I don’t know who you are or why you are talking back to me. You are like one of those kittens who call in and cry about scientific bloops to Discovery Channel – completely wrong and not worth a second of thought.

But since you seem to be so persistent, allow me to prove you horribly wrong. The fact that I have single-handedly wiped PRXM multiple times across multiple battlefields is about as scientifically accepted as the fact that I can finish 2½ cups of coffee while doing it. And no, that is not an exceptionally big cup. It includes pouring more 2 times. While Sir David Attenborough does the comments.

The fact that you mention our garrison being made of wood, is honestly just laughable. Not only is the wood more comfortable to walk across in a cold area such as the one where Garrison is located, but you did the refurbishing entirely for free. We didn’t have to put up a single piece of siege equipment to capture it. You even repaired outer wall after AM’s escapades earlier, as well as a ton of loot bags on the floor, all included in the price.

No my friend, tonight only serves as further confirmation that PRXM are falling politely back into their proper place, as servants to their FSP masters.

Not sure about the GvG part (my guild is kinda tiny) but i`m up for a night of duels and just hanging around with you guys.
PS – I`m not sure if i remember right but i think you guys (SOE) had some events in the past with fireworks, ale kegs and some food feasts. Those looked like totally fun, would not mind seeing more of that again

This thread is embarassing ¬.¬ and that goes for BOTH sides. We are likely to face each other several times in months to come, people already complain that FSP go for GH (true or not, doesn’t really matter) I think it’s fairly obvious they will be doing nothing but that from now on.

Personally, yes FSP have a fairly hefty zerg.. even supply camps don’t seem to be taken by anything less than full numbers, but GH are just the same when we get the people online. I don’t find AG or FSP and different to fight, sure AG use different tactics but they have just as big a zerg only it’s made of guilds instead of pugs – which in a sense makes it worse because guilds shouldnt NEED that many. For anyone complaining the old “throw numbers at it”/“you cant fight without outnumbering us” insult then when a guild does it surely it’s even worse?

I have managed to find several smaller fights with my guild, we are only 3-4 on average and mostly just stick to camps at the moment. Had a 30minute 3-way fight over a camp in AM BL earlier which was just nuts!

yeah,we know,it’s what you do every night,being obvious and dependant on golem rushes for taking something what you cant take during prime.Heard you hold it for about 5m…thats a long time for you guys,great job on that !

We are not copying anyone, we have done it a lot of times in the past actually.
I won’t throw any more fuel to the fire about who has more players and at what times, but we are trying what we can to gain as much points as we can at any time.
For quite some time even in our lowest point, night was our stronger period.
