Keeps and towers were designed to be successfully held by smaller forces.
The issue with turtling wasn’t ever about stupid people turtling, as I see many people saying things like “it’s easy to counter stupid people turtling”. Sure, stupid people stacking together is a good way to kill lots of stupid people. Some people actually understood the “technique” however. Perma-stability, retaliation, 25 stacks of might for everyone, 20+ people shouting heals for 30k+ per second healing for everyone, enough people to insta-rez anyone who actually drops…… The was NO counter for turtling done “right”.
You are wrong, which is pretty obvious when you look at the “technique” you posted. There are so much more to it than what you posted. Now we are back to glasscanon button smashing beeing the only viable thing, with numbers beeing everything once agian.
Fact is turtling was a good counter when facing big blops 3-5 times your numbers, but it could be countered by even numbered and coordinated people.
All the players upset by this patch are the ones who turtle.
And the ones that farmed badgers from them….
Well they shouldn’t have been carrying around a bunch of badgers in the first place.
Well, badgers can do a lot of damage, and if you have a bunch of them in a group, then I can image than a lot more than 5 people are going to be injured. If the badgers are rabid on top of that, the complaints about limiting the healing are beginning to make sense.
Surprised. I can see why they did it, but as most healing is rather small per individual i’d have expected a higher cap, maybe 10.
Agree for exactly the same reason.
It seems detrimental for both Raid-type DE’s in pve and WvW to limit it to 5. 10 would have seemed like a good compromise.
I have to ask, was there ever a reason not to turtle? if the answer is “no” then turtleing was overpowered, not because there are no counters, but because turtling is he dominate strategy.
If heals and buffs can be prioritized for party members, and set to ignore pets and npcs.. great. Otherwise? Ugh.

All the players that make comments like this are the people who cant beat the turtle even tough there are plenty of skill combos to do so and qq like little babies that need to be looked after or better yet maybe they should just learn to play.

There will always be a dominant strat. Always. But people max out gear and spend a lot of time learning the game and maxing there character, then have to restart. Now that would be fine if there was no way to beat the strat but there is. And that is just kitten kitten.

Especially if they are Honey Badgers.

id there a dominate strat in starcraft 2 right now? not really. if you have a balanced game, then there are no dominate strategies.
and technique that was allowing turtling-heals having unlimited targeting- was something of an exploit. they had already stated that they planned to cap AOE abylities at 5 targets. this was simply a matter of closing a loophole.
One of my greatest specialties as a player is finding and eliminating siege. Either through my own efforts or those around me.
To the best of my knowledge there are only a few things in the game that cannot either be killed or avoided and still take what they are guarding. One of these is inside catapults, another is an exceedingly well placed garrison treb.
Everything else can be AOE’d and sieged down by those with skill. Even impenetrable fortresses lined with siege. A well built and protected cata/treb can whipe most keep siege out by itself , but requires babysitting.
Turtling was mainly used as a refuge for the weak. Adapt or fall to Darwinism.
@Smokee.1754:
Why do you think that made more sense to stand in AoE in a stack than to move out of it? Why do you think it is more skillful to stand still than to avoid the red circles?
