1. Lower the queue cap to half of what it is. (Isn’t it 100 people per map? 50 v 50 v 50 still seems like a lot for that “epic” war feel)
2. Queues happen more often -> people move to a different bl
3. Stacked servers complain that there are way to many Queues
5. Make transferring free for a limited time
4. Stacked servers have guilds move to lower populated servers to avoid Queues
5. Now there is less of stacked servers and servers struggling with outmanned have a chance to get people.
Bonus: People complain about server loyalty being an issue and don’t see the picture of a more competitive WvW.
Bonus 2: Now that half the people are on the map you avoid half the skill lag.
Bonus 3: No more blowout 500-600 ppt games.

I agree map caps are the only answer let the over populated teams que for hrs theyll soon leave for a lower pop server. Map caps solve the tier stacking and the skill lag its actully quiet easy to solve but it wont silence the sooks theyll still spam the forums crying about map caps and the fact they cant achieve anything without a 70 man blob.

Make WvW alliance based with population cap.
iow, scrap serverbased, implement an AB system as in Guildwars where players can choose their alliance.
I agree with you Moh Jay exept on free transfers id like to see ANETmake alot of money on fairweathers transfering back then give the dev team a free holiday for putting up with all the crying about problems which where caused by the players themselves but have been deemed the problem of ANET by the pointing fingers of players.
Maybe they should give up the idea of letting worlds face eachother altogether. It’s a lot more interesting to have people from the same server facing.

wow you want to cut it in half your probably one of those pve scrubs.

a) buy better servers
b) show us how many ppls currently in your server in WvW so we know when its close to que.

I’m not surprised that someone, who’s on the most stacked server in the EU-scene, has this mindset.

1. player limit goes to 500 per server…lets have baaaaattles.
2. no more gay magic effects or any pink glowing flower weapons within WvW.
3. darker light setup, weather effects, day/night circle.
4. blood and gore patch enabled on entering WvW.
5. AFK kicks, so noone is blocking one of the 500 spots aye?
6. loads of new server hardware.
and there it is….THE only real WvW fix solution.

That’s good and all, but how exactly does this solve the large population imbalances, which was basically OP’s main point?
50v50 zerg fights are indeed still plenty epic, problem is, you will almost never get all on the map in one spot. There need to be roamers, camp/harassing groups, not to mention you’ll have people afqing/crafting/merching in spawn taking space away and other non-zerg relevant activities, or a second (guild) zerg doing their own thing.
Which means you would very rarely even get a 40v40 or 30v30.
So 50 is way too low. Maybe 80.
Here is another solution, remove queue caps for losing teams. There are many times my guild would be willing to help defend FA garrison, or SMC keep, but are unable to due to queue caps.
100 people might be able to beat 200 if we had the option of mobility, but as of the moment the 40 or so people have to stare and watch as our stuff is lost in other BL’s.

It may seem drastic (and it is) but why do we strive to have 1-4 stacked T1 sized servers when we could get multiple competitive T4-5 servers? Also, this will make some borderlands not be empty because the queue would force people to spread out. To each their own about server loyalty but I think having your alliance guilds/friends move to other servers with their guilds creates a more fun experience when you meet them on the battlefield, it becomes competitive and enjoyable without being too serious.
P.S. Yes I was a PvE scrub until I really got into WvW 7 months ago.
