I think the outmanned/orb bonuses need to be different
the orbs do the same things relics did in daoc. and the system will be fine once the server matches are balanced (which is starting to happen) i did like teh darkness falls idea. maybe who ever owns the most towers has access to something similiar in gw2
Well, but it’s much much much easier to take the orbs in GW2 than the relics in DAOC.
Also DAOC had many servers where one side owned all the relics and the other sides just more or less gave up for weeks on end.
well right now with alot of unbalanced matches 1 side with 3x number just runs over everyone else and takes everything. once the matches are balanced and there are teh same numbers i think it will be alot harder to take a orb because the defenders port in is right there.
also if an enemy does take an orb it should be stored somewhere where its harder to hold onto,
i would like to see the home orbs in a more protected keep tho, like daoc oldfrontiers which had 3 gates you had to go threw.

You won’t see the servers “balanced”. Servers weren’t even “balanced” in DAoC, things were just different. The more of the map you controlled in DAoC, the weaker your guards were. There were no 1 or 2 week matchups, do you even remember how long it took for servers to start working together in DAoC? That isn’t going to happen on the same scale as it did in DAoC, because of the time limits. It just isn’t worth it.
In DAoC, if you fell way behind (there was no score), people still felt like there was a reason to keep trying. Access to DF, orb bonuses helping in PvE as well, etc. It was a different game. ANet has a lot of work to do if they want this game’s WvW to function at the same level that RvR did.
