Increase damage needed to rally off somebody
If they’re only ‘doing retaliation’, why are you worried about them rallying?
There should be no rally in WvW or not 50 rally for 1 dead

Personally, I think you should only rally if you make the killing blow on an enemy, rather than if the enemy dies.
This would have zero impact on solo roaming, and would promote more active rezzing in team fights

I kind of like the rally mechanic in roaming, it gives you more option, i mean if you have a downed ally you can on one hand try to ress him or on the other try to kill an enemy so he will rally. It does, though, need to be worked on, as you said rally on mobs can be stupid sometimes as it is in zerg fights where one death can revive dozens of other players.
Even a 1-1 thing wouldn’t be bad, for one kill you get one to rally, it would make sense i think
I think it should just be removed. It is a team game, your team should have to help you back up.
Your team is helping you when you rally in WvW, in almost every case….
I would say all the stealths, clones and post-down movement abilities are about 50x more annoying and unfair than rallying. If the idea is to kill you in WvW fights your opponents should have to push, things like moving after you are downed are a much bigger issue….

No, just no. This would make it a numbers win game. Rather than with tight play being able to beat 2, 3 times your number. Would make open field vs zergs a lost cause. One or two of your guys caught, you have to manually red .. you’d lose a lot attempting rez.
Coming from a wvw guild I’m quite surprised by your view. Rallies aren’t the best system but removing it would kill guild vs mass numbers. Literally grinded down.

I disagree. In the current situation, losing one person is an insta-loss for a guild at times.
I put this in the same basket as rezzing from dead in combat. It makes brainless play possible.

they could leave the downed state in, and just remove the instant rallying from an opponent/PvE getting killed. then the finishers would still be useful, and 1 person wouldn’t revive half a zerg if they got killed.

Yea, I do not care about the downed state, seems to work fine so leave it in, but rally has no place in WvW.

I agree. While I’ve been rallied in GvZergs before and it has saved me, I’d gladly trade that for the times we get a good burst and had to watch our ‘kills’ stand up again when we had to disengage or the zerg got one of ours or a random rally-bot.
The downed state makes you invulnerable for a short time and allows your allies to heal you up very easily. This effectively gives zerglings the ability to kitten up once (more) as they can be sure that even if they lose all their health without even doing anything useful their friends are going to get them up again quickly.
While roaming small scale the downed state plays into the hands of the more organized group. If you have an enemy to CC away the stompers, rezz you up or get you a rally, there’s a lot you can do.

This thread is NOT about the downed state, no one is saying to remove that, it is about the rally system.
In WvW, if rally needs to exist, it should be at 1:1 ratio. One death avenges one downed. It makes sense, currently it is completely unbalanced and makes it so that trolls easily rally tons of enemies.
To me the rally system is counter to the ANET philosophy of inclusion. The idea that no one should chase other people away.
Rally is likely one of the biggest reasons that organized groups do not like people following them and also one of the bigger reasons why even zergs frown on up-levels.
Get rid of rally so we can be more inclusive!
