Queues were always part of WvW so I don’t know why ppl are so upset about satying few mins in queue and enjoy huge blob fights ;D

Who spent just a “few minutes in queue”?

Regardless queues of 50+ on all the bls and over 150 on eb combined with the later reset times is an issue. I waited for 2.5 hours and went from 146 down to 99ish before having to log out. Yes, queues are normal but not that large that late.

U could join this 50 ppl queue instead of 150 man queue then. Also it was always like that during reset… Nothing changed, just last half of a year was less of em. And during waiting u should join EoTM ^^

You miss the fact that there is rotation of players, dcs etc. Also u should join other border( instead of EB if it has queue) and finally you could do the same the other ppl did and spam “f” at portal in LA to join EB ^^

So if u had queue 1 for very long time IT BUGGED OUT. It is common bug that prevent you from joining even after 1000 hours ^^. And once again if you wanted to play at EB or any other border during reset you could do the same thing veterans did and go to LA, stay at gate and spam “f” at 8 pm GMT +2(time of reset)

Lol you people are just never happy. Just wanted to say ANet good job this time around. I reinstalled GW2 to try the new WvW server system and yes there was queues but at the same time WvW seems to be lively again well atleast for now, so again good job ANet.

Once again why didn’t u go EoTM while in queue or other border( I guess u queued for EB). Also dude… I saw a lot of old players that came back to the game due to new patch and changes… It was always like that. If u don’t remember then check out season 2 queue at Gandara as attachement

The ques wouldnt be so bad if they changed the time from 10:00 pm eastern to at least 8 or 9 pm eastern. We had a 100 + que and by the time 11:00 pm came around you were tired of waiting. Way to go Anet for bringing wvw players into pve (while waiting for the ques) for which i got in at 1 am eastern time.. Horrible idea merging servers, regardless of the ques, the lag was horrible (with settings turned down all the way). There is no communication on ts with other server, and we had 6 tags up on one map. I cant even imagine the Tier 1 servers right now. Good Luck all trying to enjoy a game of defending, PPT and trying your skills out against a MASSIVE BLOB. WTG Anet you did it again. Reconsider

WHy didn’t you joing OTHER border except EB? I bet you had low or 0 queue for any desert borderland or EoTM… You could go playing WvW there aswell ^^. Or wait for queue while playing sPvP. And your 3rd option was to get at 8 pm GMT+2 to LA and spam f at entrance portals. It has always been like that during resets. Expecially during resets just after patch that brought something new to WvW ^^

if you call combining servers as pairings making wvw lively again then you should re-think that statement it should say thank you for scrapping together whats left of WvW to save it, reality is we wouldn’t need this system if they wouldn’t have screwed up so badly on the old one.

people who play 10 hours are day are happy to wait 2 hours lol
not all ppl play 10 hours a day , some of us work and come home wanted to enjoy an hour . but that is NOT going to happen anymore

Never been so happy to not make it into wvw on reset. 80-deep queue in EBG and average 40-deep in the BL’s.

Anyone complaining about queues or blobs is seriously missing the big picture. Massive queues mean massive interest. Full maps are going to lead to blobs. Anyone who considers themselves a wvw’er is going to recognize last night as a huge success. Thanks anet!

As a player who only plays WvW I would like to say Great Job Anet on all the WvW changes lately. Thanks and keep it up.

+1 to good job. Queues will get better and this is a new and very big change. I’m sure anet is looking for ways to improve performance and trim down queue times…among other things.

Nobody expected it to be perfect right away. Or maybe some people did lol

Lots of heated opinions but not wanting to find something to do for an hour while waiting on WvW doesn’t mean someone is 6 it might mean they have a life or a family and to log in and wait for an hour while your mom brings down some pizza rolls to the basement is not an option for those of us with jobs, families, and responsibilities. So while it’s easy for the group that is all about mindless blob on blob action to rave about Qs the rest of us have lives and don’t have time to be wasted standing in line. This is why server transfers were crazy for a while because some wanted big battles and BvB while others wanted to be able to run with their guild and be able to have some smaller scale WvW that doesn’t require 40 ppl to leave the spawn. So please remember this a community and that means not everyone wants what you want and that needs to be respected by players and devs. And as for the name calling aren’t at least some of you adults? Is your ego that fragile that someone can’t have a contrasting point of view? But I have to agree with those speaking out so Anet doesn’t go change a bunch of stuff in the wrong direction because of the one crying just like with the BL change that is now accompanied by circus music.

today its NOT reset night , still a high queue i waited 35 min
i guess since the link , queue from 10 min to 2 hour + gonna happen everyday

Doesn’t really do any good to assume you’ll have to wait 2 hours in queue every day of the week from now on. You will just stress yourself out.

I don´t understand the complaints, EU servers that didn´t merge had insane queues as well, so stop the QQ.

All my 30 guild mates go in into a BL by pressing f at LA portals. I am from BG.

i took me an hour to get into the borderlands but that didnt bother me. i was supposed to go into eb with my guild but never got there but im sure the queue will die down. i think they made a mistake by combining all the tier together. they should have left tiers 1 2 and 3 alone and combine the lower tiers. i think that way they would have had less tiers but not be so overcrowded and make the borderlands less blob ish.

A queue of 20-30 minutes sure. Even up to an hour on reset night is acceptable. But 2.5+ hours is excessive. Reset queues are understandable and healthy but not to the point of stopping people from being able to play within a reasonable amount of time. What if the same queues are happening during the week? Would you be happy to see that? If you were waiting in the queue would you be happy?

As a player who only plays wvw, I would be really furious if I had to wait for 2.5 hours to play. I do not have that much time, I come home, do the chores, play for 2(ish) hours and go to bed to be able to wake up to go to work next day. I never had that much que, due to my server. But I feel sympathy for those who feel furious.

I can’t tell if the OP is serious or joking. I’m guessing joking since no one likes a queue.

1) FACT: Northen Shiverpeaks + Sorrows Furnance have 0 borderlands queue, and between 0-5 for non prime time in EB or 20-30 in prime. So queue problems are not shared by ALL servers/matchs.

2) FACT: The concept of WvWvW is fighting vs tons of players as the name implies, maybe in “zergs” maybe in “organized clan groups”, but certainly not in 1v1 or 5v5 situations. PvP exist for those gameplay mode…, heck you can go for 10v10 in pvp even.

3) FACT: Some low tier servers had at night 0 to 5 people playing in borderlands, that’s not even enough for a miserable PvP match, in a mode thats not designed for that.

So, its the change good or bad? It depends on what server you are playing. For low tier servers this is a kittening miracle. For top tier? Not so. But you know, devs are beta testing this, so problems and lack of balance are expected for now.

People need to a) Chill a little and b) understand that they are not the kittening center of the universe, and the changes have good improvements too.

Seeing a lot more lower ranks in WvW as well from the new reward system hype as well (I’m assuming)

JQ queues have been very small and IoJ has a good WvW community. Overall it’s been a pleasurable experience.

I agree – you did a Great Job reviving WvW with the current changes put in place in the Spring Quarterly update! I did WvW for 15 hours straight since reset on Friday night! LOL! :P (I had several.. and I do mean several cups of LARGE COFFEE!) It was So Much FUN and such a Constant BLOOD BATH!

I also enjoyed the server linking as it allowed me to see some old faces and some new ones from my days on GoM. (I’m on SoS and have been for about 1.5 years now.) We had some EPIC Fights on the BL’s and on EB during my 15 hour stretch. It really reminded me of how WvW was a couple years ago or so. It was very nice!

Some things that I think would be nice to change would be to do something to Maintain Server Identity. Maybe a short term solution would be to have the hosting server’s name be used one week, then the visiting server’s name be used the next, since you’re planning to have the pairings maintained for awhile. So this week, we’re all – SoS, but next week we’d all be GoM. This could help with giving the visiting server glicko points too. (NOTE: I do like some of the creative combination names I’ve seen floating around on the forums – Gates of Sorrow and Sea of Madness both ROCK!!! )

Also, I saw a few posts about having dynamic maps based on population size. I think this would be a great idea to also employ. It could help with queues and keep people on a true WvW map rather than going to EotM.

Oh, and I almost forgot… the DBL’s, when full, are Hella-FUN! When Alpine returns, please consider a rotation of the ABL and DBL.

Usally I’m at my PC and spamming the map window to enter WvW at reset. But this reset kicked off so quickly after Anet booted us out of the old WvW match up, that I missed the maps opening back up by like 30-60s. (I was in the john… LOL!)

EB had a queue immediately, like 40 some people. The BL’s didn’t, though, so I went to our SoS BL (no wait/queue), and then I queued for EB. It probably took about 45 min for my EB queue to pop, but I was having such a great time on our SoS BL (thanks [Rx] guild, GoM folks, and our enemies! ) that I decided to stay there. And I was there for 8 hours (til about 6AM EDT US time). Then I went to EB, which had a 1 person queue at the time. And the battling continued!

I was willing to go wherever to get my “battle” on. The DBL’s when full of people make for very interesting battles. Loved it!

NOTE: per our people talking on TS, EB’s queue got up to 100+ and the BL’s queued up too shortly after reset time – 40/50 deep, I think. Not as bad as EB, thankfully.

Conclusion: On reset night, if you’re NOT there at reset time, it’s going to take awhile to get into WvW, especially EB. For at least right now. With all the positive changes Anet made to WvW in this patch, old vets are returning, new PVE’ers are trying it out, and, heck… Anet even made me break out with my warrior due to the stab changes. Was great fun!

I’m really enjoying my time in WvW. The queues have finally been neutralized, played a few hours in EBG then switched to home BL, and so on. The server we paired up have been more than welcoming so it’s nice to fight in jolly cooperation. pokes SBI

Will I finally settle as a returning regular player in WvW? It feels like this new world linking drives me to say yes.

Ok I stand corrected. Although we constantly have 25+ que, and we wait at least 15 minutes to enter the map, it is not the biggest issue. But server/skill lags and dc’s are a huge problem. After the patch it became terrible, we are unable to play properly. I hope there will be a fix for these issues, because wvw is the only game mode we play.

And I think merging servers was not a good idea for some servers. We were already suffering from que and now it is out of control. Also we, now, are suffering from immense amount of lags and dc’s as I have said. But for some servers (as my friends inform me) these changes were wonderful. So I hope there will be a fast fix.

Had another WvW trip today, about 2 hours playtime on EB Deso+Vabbi. A lot of fun. Our commander died, but he was doing a poor job anyways, and then we played without commander and held SM till we were attacked by both Riverside and Elona Reach (and we repelled them but Elona capped when we went to defend our keep from Riverside /cry).

Skill lagg hasn’t been an issue, neither was the fights being too blobby. We maintained a loose formation, with a little room for field fights. Pirate ship meta seems to be decreased slightly (pushes were possible), but CC/AoE still need some tweaking to make it more melee-viable.

I play an average of 15 minutes – 2 hours most every evening. Maybe a bit more on weekends sometimes. I am a very casual player with a life outside the game(family, job, etc)

Yea, reset night was ridiculous(it always is on large pop servers, especially after the new patch) But yesterday evening, I had no trouble getting into a couple of different servers in wvw. Think I maybe waited 20 minutes tops on one, which was fine, as I used that time to clear out my bank and organize some in game stuff.

And WvW was fun as heck, because it wasn’t a ghost town. I was getting tired of that on my T8 server.

I really like the numbers that this patch has brought back to WvW….makes it really fun, again!!!!

I bet when you try to get on Tuesday or Wednesday evening, you won’t have a que at all, or maybe a short one.
