None that I know of. No notable ones anyway. Probably the biggest issue I see guild wise in SOS is a commander quit the game (Patone). IMO he is the best commander I have ever played with or against. His guild had a following of ~600. Its dropped to about 400 members now. Some formed new guilds. Either way his leadership was a big loss.

We lost a fair few pugs who went to JQ, although IMO that is a good thing in the long run as it frees up space to potentially bring in another big organized guild.

Stop trolling please. Last week we fought you off but we had to burn out a few commanders and exhaust ourselves to do it. This week we’re facing the same skill but with 10 times the numbers.

I’m not begrudging you your transfers, or your skills at wvw but trying to claim that the numbers are even when you’ve got 20 people taking a tertiary objective like the quaggans island is pretty disingenuous.

When everyone else in WvW sees that scoreboard, does it upset you to know that you have been working hard for those small stat increases, whilst players in PvE are still getting those stat increases and not doing anything to get them?

I pvp for the fun and sport of it.

I’m happy my more PVE focused brothers and sisters get some benefit from it.

In reality, during SEA/euro we (SoS) were getting stomped by JQ, even when we were winning t1 by whatever small margin we were. Why? FOO. Easily the best guild on Jade Quarry. When teaming up with DC and some of the ever growing guilds that I’ve seen (EMP/GODS/EXI/Nord etc), we and the 2-3 main guilds on at the time in MERC/AFS/DiE generally struggled. With the addition of ND, we were finally able to hold our BL and a small piece of JQ bl, maintaining a PPT of at least 220-250 (and maybe 300 odd on a good night) until fairly late. (midnight GMT+8). Not a week later, even with ND and MERC on the same map we cannot hold SoS bl. It’s a numbers game. Whilst I was commanding last night, we repeatedly farmed the shiz out of DC/Val/AGG last night on SoS bl around Sunnyhill/Bay.

So yeah, JQ currently has the ability to hold more or less at least 3 borderlands 24/7, so until we on SoS find a way to deal with that, we’re probably going to continue to focus on training our current forces better in open field combat/tactics. We’re no doubt going to have to look to recruit as well in order to match the new JQ. MERC is still fielding our usual numbers every night, but forgive the server if we’re a little lax this week. I think everyone’s taking this beating and having a breather since winning last week involved a lot of overtime. I’m not taking anything away from JQ of course, you’ve played recruit and now you’re the stronger force. I’ve walked away 15 times during this post so it’s probably fragmented and makes no sense.

JQ has not only been expanding with guilds but increasing in roster sizes to our main guilds prior from the spike. EMP for example has grown from 40~ to 70~ fielding as an international guild to compensate for the growth.

In my eyes, it only made sense to reach out to struggling guilds before the outrageous transfer prices and by doing so we were able to slot in almost every hour of downtime coverage.

Wasn’t easy work alongside my fellow WvW leaders from various guilds, but it definitely payed off.

With the way WvW will be evolving in the near future , its almost a shame not to take the opportunity and strengthen what has already been built, the community.

I can definitely see the downfalls against opposing servers but at the end, it provides a very great challenge intensive to those that want to match up because without innovation, coordination, and stability, wvw would never be this competitive.

I’ve had a great time facing so many renown guilds and working alongside guilds like: RG,TSYM,AGG,MERC,ONE,DIE,ND,HB to name a few, it has challenged not only the community leaders of our WvW structure, but the way we run on the field with adaptation never at rest.

Many more exciting match-ups to come sure enough.

Please for the sake of the game, stop recruiting!! You guys have superior 24/7 coverage right now that no other server can match. In almost all timezones you guys can field enough players to cover all 4 maps!!! No other server can do that…

IF and WHEN you do beat every server you face by 50k+ week in, week out you will be demotivating people to fight you guys, they’ll start to realize, “Why should i bother trying when the outcome will be the same.” I bet some of you guys were feeling that when SOS were doing the same and why participation in T1 was declining.

Yes people may still play for FUN, but it will become less and less over time.

I can already picture the outcome once ANET releases wvw with a reward system, people will transfer over to JQ just to get a piece of the prize.

I know winning is a great feeling, but think of the other communities before you put
your needs first!

While I have nothing but respect for JQ and BG (seriously, I love you guys… please stop murdering me so quickly) can we all play a little nicer? I’ve only just gotten back from a few busy days so what happened to that other thread I don’t know but coming into this one and antagonizing other servers is probably not the way to go.

Actually, in my completely worthless opinion, it wouldn’t be a bad thing to drop to T2 for a bit. I occasionally visit threads for those and they seem to be having a good time and don’t pull each others hair nearly as much. What about this week has gotten everyone so riled up?

as far as i understand, the ranking stays for the next week match up, only the points reset… so dropping 1 tier for SoS is a good strategy to immediately get back to Tier 1 a week after that since SoS would easily come out top in the SoSvTCvFA if it happens……

in fact, any roflstomping server after the reset has a chance to be in Tier 1 a week after that…

The smart people will differentiate what is a solid post from a lack luster dud. As for server morale, I agree the militia on SoS seems demoralized. But is the responsibility of OUR stronger guilds to step up and help rally the troops. Not only did Patone, our EB specialist take a break, but also another commander has stepped away for a bit. Those 2 people alone were responsible for bringing in, and organizing the majority of non-affiliated players into WvW. Patone was a rock in EB. And the other would spend a good amount of time, traveling to PvE zones rallying troops. Also, the later did a TON of backroom organizing for our server. Both of these losses to our community, coupled with the aussie holiday and natural disaster are not just going to be overcome with a snap of the finger. It behooves us all to think that RL will not affect our game time. To make comments like SoS isn’t bringing it now that things are even is just plain garbage. That was only one example, but there are many more. All are just plain…lame.
SoS is a strong community. We will continue to play, and field strong guilds that understand the value of team work. Congrats to jQQ for fielding such a strong force for every time zone, and BG for taking what they can, playing smart, and getting income. Both servers are great servers, AS WELL AS MINE!!!

The world is not ending. I have enjoyed fighting JQ and the week before this was a terrific struggle that could have gone to anyone.

IMHO, These matches are more fun with three strong teams going at it but RG, and many other guilds have shown us that 15-20 man teams can give 40+ a fright. These aggressive guilds have shown that numbers are not everything open field.

Good luck all, the new series has not yet begun but I am hoping we all get some fun fights during the upcoming matches.

I’m just gunna say this coming from JQ. Yes we recruited a lot. It was what made sense. And even the recruitment process took a lot of time and effort from our guild leaders talking with other server guilds trying to bring them in. It wasnt a simple and quick process. We worked hard for it, and these are the results.

Another thing, I can say for a fact being on WvW and reading almost all the chat that goes on, that we are not out to antagonize other servers. Yes we may have rivalries, but thats what happens in a competitive environment, but most of the time, we’re actually rushing around trying to counter a zerg or defend one of our towers. TBH I’m fairly disappointed at what has happened this week. Tonight we had a tick of 545 before I logged. We went through the BL’s, flipping everything with only about 15 guildies with little to no resistance from BG or SoS. I understand there has been some devastating events that happened in Australia and I’m very sorry for whats occurred to the families there. But just because a lot of the Oceanic guilds cant show doesnt mean that as a server, you should just give up. In fact you are doing a disservice to the members of those guilds affected. How do you think they’ll feel when they come back and see the state of their server? How they have seem to completely given up?

I mean no ill will against SoS or BG. I really don’t. Its been fun battling each week against you guys (and SBI). But just because something goes bad doesnt mean everyone should just drop and leave. Pick yourselves up and show a little spine. You’re a Tier 1 server. Its what we’ve been doing for all these months.

I am not a heavy wvwvw player, but sometimes I enjoy running around the map and taking over camps and keeps. However, what all these players flooding into JQ brought are a very long queue time (including borderlands) and an unbalanced match. Now, whenever I want to roll in wvwvw, I have to wait 30min+ for getting into borderland and 1hr+ for EB. When I finally get in, the maps are all blue and I have nothing to do. (I usually roam in BL)
I really miss large zerg battles between servers and not 30+ JQ players stomping over 15 players…

btw I love all you people who fought hard for JQ

SOS appears to have given up either because players are taking breaks, natural disasters in australia, desire to be in tier 2 or what not… With essentially just JQ and BG fighting most of the time, during time zones when BG lacks coverage, JQ has been able to not only just gain points but to double the points since they were able to take over whatever SOS has without resistance. In the past, SOS was able to hold JQ in check during these time zones.

Reset and weekends usually have longer queues. That’s understandable since most players play wvw during those times. Weekday queues are about 15 min in EB and 5 min in border (none most of the time).

That’s not what I said at all. What they’re doing is not fighting so that they will be in Tier 2 next week, because the common belief is that if we are in Tier 1 next week we will lose by too much and be in Tiers 6-8 for a month or more. So yes, both are >trying< to abuse the system, but it’s for their own sake and not to drop the other server.

It was really fun fighting you guys as well. To take your own words and turn them around, it was nice to fight a JQ guild not using numbers, but tactics and field awareness. Those ballistas in the corn field in the south supply camp was a great idea!
Your use of null fields is also something new that we havent faced in a coordinated way like that before.

We stopped around 6 am my local time, midnight for our EST crew, so it wasnt because we didnt wanna fight you guys.

To SoS: I understand your reasons for not fighting for ppt, but please atleast come out into the lakes and fight? Having a T1 server sit out like this is just silly.

I wouldnt have thought someone from SoR, the server that didnt push the campaign to hard last week, just so they could get more points from SBI this week, would point fingers at others for playing the numbers game.

I was under the impression that the council had a council where each leader had a say, in which case I would have assumed you’d heard from your own leader on this. Sorry for making that assumption. And I have only been relaying what BWC members have been saying in EB. If the BWC does not like the truth spread, then perhaps you should look at why that truth is so dangerous to you?

Doubt it. They only got such a high rating because they PvDoored an empty server for 2 weeks. Also that server wouldn’t be so empty if the majority didn’t merge into the winning team.

I don’t think so. SoR is very different now. Their NA force is very scary. It is likely to be on par with JQ’s NA! Can’t wait and see

Doubt it. They only got such a high rating because they PvDoored an empty server for 2 weeks. Also that server wouldn’t be so empty if the majority didn’t merge into the winning team.

That too…BUT! They got a lot of transfers too. If JQ got the most, then SoR would come second. They also got the most critical reinforcement that all servers will die for.
