Q:

First off, this week we are against two HUGE mega servers….and we are a normal sized server; experiencing queues once in a while not all the time.

Problem : The Number of People & Zergs…. Zergs are awesome…however the problem is small servers that are good in combat…can’t defend against a Zerg UNLESS at a Tower/Keep with Siege…

Solution : Limit the # of people in any Borderland / EB within 10 or so.

How would this actually look:

For instance let’s pick two servers. Stormbluff and Crystal Desert just for randomness. If Stormbluff has 35 people in EB, then Crystal Desert can only have 45. Thus preventing a huge Zerg and having Crystal Desert literally STEAMROLL Stormbluff.

How would this fix the problem:

Servers that can actually bust larger zergs of some sort; would actually have a chance…I.E. no 50 man zerg could honestly take a 100 man zerg.. unless the 100 man zerg is..just..lawllllllllllllllllllllll

I am just tired of being able to take a 20 vs 20 and completely own them and then their zerg of 80 comes and annihilates us..

However, always allow 20 people in each BG…so a server can’t have 0 and limit the other team to not being able to play or have a small amount of players. This would negate Zerg Bombing and allow more skill to be involved…

You can’t disallow people from playing because their opponents cannot or refuse to play.

Server B being underpopulated is not server A’s problem.

If your server doesn’t have the WvW presence that an opposing server does, the other server shouldn’t be penalized for it. That would lock so many people out of WvW in certain cases.

its a coverage game. you win by transferring to the server with the highest population. not saying thats a good thing, but im pretty sure thats how it was intended, and thats how it will always be

So, hundreds of people will not be able to play WvW because you are tired of another server gangking you after they get wiped?

I feel the Op have valid points and good reasonings. .

Once again, the way i see it, Guild Wars 2 system is design to give the Elite/Superior
unfair advantage and unconditional right and power to abuse and suppress the advantage of the lesser/weak.

How is this not a problem?

That makes me think, on wvw just need to play certain classes with a certain build and press 1, its the zergfest of copy pasta builds.

@OP WvW is all about numbers, and that is what makes some servers stronger than another and makes WvW what it is, not allowing players to play if their server has the power to output big numbers is not good also, it is as bad as have 1 mega blob in each side.

1st April joke, when gw2 receives a “balance” update.

Server dedication for X type of activity is usually why players roll on X server.
So this is why this looks like this currently, Most play for PVE so they pick the server for that so either its high pop, language choice, RP etc.
AND because lately anet decided to “super mega bosses hardcore style afk for hours for main” that takes more than a soft cap of a lobby to do it properly. most either transfer to higher pop or just guest.

So “how is this affects wvw?” easy. the rich get richer in full effect.
and this current tourney only shows how its depended on this.

So if you’re on a low pop server i would assume that even PvD is sometimes impossible just to get some “normal” progress.

TL’DR all elements of the game affect the servers balance and dedication of players on X element of the game.
IF the game requires more than 120+ people to do a new event / world boss, of course it will make people leave small servers and go to the high pop ones.
Or even move to the best one for the current event to get the full benefits if you have the extra money.
