This is just an example: Gandara atms fights AR, theres a ranger who logs off every time hes low HP. Even in 1on1. While this is ridiculous, its also annoying. Couldnt there be a timer like in any other MMO when you log off your character still stays ingame for 10 seconds? I mean, he has no advantage. We people just laugh about “King F**” and only target him in a zerg. But thats not the solution.

If he logs of he dies. You gain wxp, loot etc. If this not happens this means he is a cheater

Hes not logging off, he is alt+F4ing.

Back in the early days of DAoC if you were found to be exploiting alt+F4 you got temp bans. Repeated abuse resulted in permaban.

Had a case of a PU mesmer doing this a few weeks back. The really sad thing is it takes longer to restart the client and log in than it does to simply wp.

Enemies alt f4? Great! But what ticks me off is that they can just queue for pvp and get away while I get no xp/loot.

I have encountered this as well, curiously also with a ranger. Two times in the past week a ranger disappeared just before I stomped him. Got no loot for him. Not that it bothers me that much cause loot in wvw is trash, but you should place a 30 second delay on people logging out/closing client in wvw…

I swear there is a Troll race in GW2.

If the enemy disappears and you get experience and loot then he most likely alt f4’d out although at times you may not receive anything for the kill. Some people have an ego that cannot take a loss to another player so by alt f4ing they think they are denying you the stomp and thereby actually win the battle.

At times there are those that will use a hack to avoid a stomp. You will consistently get no experience and no loot from these people and by consistent I mean every time you kill them. There are various hacks out there that will allow a version of “cheat death”.

Anet did fix this issue so that if someone did Alt F4 you still got the loot and they died upon next log on.

However, as per ususal, there was a PvE update. And as per usual this update undid the above.
It’s what happened with all the lag in WvW, they fixed it, then all of a sudden it came back. The only common occurrence was that a PvE update was released. So to me this shows that whever the PvE team do, they do not consider the affect their alterations will do to WvW, and as a result undoes the fix. We then complain about lag for another couple months until they realise their mistake, and the cycle begins again.

There’s a gold rank Ranger from I think Elona Reach that does this a lot. I could be mistaken about the server he’s from, it’s been about a week or so since I fought him, but I downed him about 5 or 6 times this one day and every time I did he’d alt + f4. I decided to try creating a party with him but he already had me blocked. It’s pretty pathetic honestly… How can losing be that big of a deal to some people that they have to exit the game instead of just getting stomped. And this guy had even went as far as to pre-block me incase I decided to message him, lol. Must be pretty insecure about his kitten.

EDIT: Lol, I see that more than a few people have experienced this with a Ranger. Maybe it’s the same guy. Gold rank, female Norn, brown hair, white skin, all I can remember about him right now. I usually have a good memory for details about the people I fight but none of my fights with this guy lasted very long and he’d always exit as soon as I won anyway.

Ive seen the same happen alot,it really doesn’t bother me..I get my loot,wxp and a good laugh for someone bothering to exit the game and having to reque again because he cant play for kitten..Go ahead,keep logging off when downed,it makes me feel all warm inside.

It may appear I have alt f4 d from a fight a time or two, reality is the que popped for the bl I wanted…. I don’t 1 v 1 so I figure it is fair game to go where I wanted in the first place….

I was really hoping this thread would not appear in the forums so people wouldn’t catch on to this.

But yes if you alt+f4 before dying you deny your enemy a loot bag.

Also you dont even have to alt+f4…..You can just hit esc, click the character selection screen and just relog in on the same character. Your character will be in a downed state, not dead and you deny your enemy a bag. This saves you a bunch of time since you dont have to reload or relogin the game.

Above. But isn’t it the fact that its just a game? I mean why not just die honorably? You almost ruin all chances at improving if the only thing you learn from a fight is “ok, time to hit esc………again.” No offense, just seems counterproductive to improving overall skill.

Lol anyone who logoff just to avoid getting stomped must have nothing to do with his life, i cant even be bothered to do it even if there’s no queue.. I actually love it when someone do this, its even better than puking on trolls. He must be a kitten player to get used to alt+f4in that much in wvw
