Looks terrible… They didn’t change the altar colors on BL’s and we don’t see the commie tags on the maps while they are in any blue keep/tower or camp marker. GZ!
Who is making the final decisions regarding such changes in the wvw dev team, is it Devon? This is the most ugly, power ranger blue I could imagine, the old colour was fitting the darkish environment perfectly, why would you change it to something like that?
Whatever system they use for capture point colors is probably related to the one used is sPvP. They changed the map colors in sPvP for clarity, so this could have been a side effect. Either way, not a big deal.

I am sure this was to help colour blind people.. if you were colour blind i am sure you would be happy. Live with it guys
That was the only thing I could think of.
They could have given each team a unique shape ( Circle, Square, Triangle ) and kept the old colors AND made the map more readable at a glance but…. NOPE.
We now have Eyestrain Red, Retina Ripper Green and Deadly Blue.
I haven’t played with it yet, but at first look, I like it.
We also have bigger stuff to whine about.
Nah, we don’t. Treb mastery is going to slowly turn into a mess 1-2 months down the line but right now most people don’t have the WxP levels to really prove that treb mastery is at kittened as it looks.
I have partial color blindness, and my issue is with the red/green combination , not the blue. It has led me to some pretty funny situations, like where SM was just captured and I tried exiting through the portal while being chased.
It was probably hilarious to the people chasing me though. :P

This is stupid…the colors are obnoxious now an if they could do this than many other changes they said are difficult to do they should easily be able to do! Party kicking anyone? Just like seriously? Yea it’s apparently for colorblind people but why not make an option for colorblind or not? Hate this

I never thought I’m color blind but at first glance at the map in-game I couldn’t for the moment tell if the spot was blue or green. Maybe it’s just my monitor though.

It really does hurt the eyes, this isn’t just some figure of speech. And I have an IPS monitor. Additionally it seems to be harder to distinguish from green on first glance.
Look, if you desperately need to make Blue brighter make it a less-neony way, I kittening beg you. Or make it a toggle. I know you hate options for the players, but still.

you’re absolutely right. there are other pressing matters to be worried about than the colors of the dots on the maps. which is the problem with them changing the colors on the maps, and leaving the other pressing matters untouched. this change is purely cosmetic, and does nothing to help WvW at all. in fact, since the new fabulous blue is so close to the single color a commander icon can be, it actually hinders WvW. no one requested this change, but there have been numerous requests for changes that will actually help matters in WvW. changes that have been answered with “soon”, which we’ve come to realize is code for “not in this lifetime, sucker”, since the betas.
instead of taking care of the improvements that are necessary, we get superficial crap that only harms the game overall if anything. people have the right to be disappointed at this point. especially since the changes aren’t major overhauls, but things like different color commander tags and functional UI, and have been requested since the betas. here it is, a year later, and the problems haven’t been addressed, and we’ve just been given shiny distractions to try to get us to ignore the problems. it’s just plain insulting to our intelligence at this point.
1. Why? It was fine the way it was, new colors are blinding.
2. At least be uniform about it, the altars are still dark blue, the score screen is still dark blue, the banners are still dark blue. I mean why implement a change like this if you’re going to just half kitten it.
3. It’s the same color as the commander tags, they are kitten near impossible to see in any blue structure now.
