If any of You think about moving to other server please consider any other server but Piken Square. Ours European prime time is full and we have long queues all ready, so is no point to bring here any prime time guild or even transfer as solo players. There is few other servers which building nice community or servers which can be active again with little work so before You or Your guild move anywhere please do research.

I think you’ll have less trouble than you expect. Half the guilds have trouble getting raids into zones together, and that’s the strength of Piken. If our core guilds aren’t able to get out to fight, we have trouble getting points. The more people that come to the server, the less well we do, really.

As for the “quality wv3 com” you’re right to worry. I can feel it’s getting a bit sour already.

Not to hijack your thread but Tarnished Coast, the NA RP server, could really use some European coverage in WvW so if you really don’t want them then we will gladly take them

As the poster mentioned above, Tarnished Coast is essentially the NA Roleplaying server, but we have proved to be very competitive in Tier 2. However, we could actually really use the people that this thread is asking to stay away. During the times in question, we have no queues and are really looking for more to come over to help with coverage.

Tarnished Coast is well known for their strong community and variety of guilds. We have very strong commanders and every week are complimented on our never say die attitude. Each week we improve and advance.

If you’re a EU or Oceanic guild looking for a server with zero queue times during your prime time, but one that is also very competitive during what would be your off hours, take a look at Tarnished Coast and see what all the hype is about.

For those who would like to play on a RP server but also WvW – TC could use the Euro coverage! You can carve out a niche for yourself. Theongreyjoy summed it up well:

“I come here as a representative of Tarnished Coast wanting to state a proposal to any guilds that are still undecided about moving to choose Tarnished Coast as your future home. In the following paragraphs I hope to put forth convincing arguments to help you decide in favor of a move to Tarnished Coast.

1. Community
The first point I want to reiterate is that of our community. Everyone knows that TC is the unofficial RP server which in essence brings a lot of maturity and limits keyboard warriors and trolls. The community has been consistently praised for our ‘never say die’ attitude and our great representation of ourselves on any public forums.

The myth about RP servers not being capable in PVP is just that a myth. In WoW many of the best arena players and teams came from RP servers. There is no instances in WvW where people are just RP-ing and not fighting for the coast. On the other hand the RP-ers who PVP bring a really unique dimension to the server, there is constant entertainment where they can take a small incident and through their RP are able to make it one morale-boosting hilarious scenario. The other advantage of being the unofficial RP server is that the militia are fine with doing the ‘boring’ jobs, the militia on our server are more than happy to sentry camps and towers, tick siege and keep the communication channels going with the guild commanders and leaders as they have something to do while escorting yaks or being a sentry; which is to RP.

2. Organization
- We have a 10000 slot mumble; You heard it right its 10000 slots, not kidding. Recently acquired thanks to the great guys at DIS in an attempt to make us more organized and improve in Tier 2. Not only that but it is a public VOIP for everyone and no single guild is in charge of it. Each guild has their own PRIVATE SPACE in the mumble; private channels and sub-channels. They have implemented ‘linking’ to other channels very effectively as well. This means multiple channels of communication and coordination with various guilds as well as our militia who frequently utilize VOIP.
For e.g. We are now starting to utilize the mumble to effectively coordinate between the zergmanders and the spec groups. I am a commander of TSL and I am in charge of leading the militia as well as working with another small guild or two who are part of my main zerg. At the same time I have setup a bind that is linking me to my havoc squad/hammer squad/yak sniping squad that are sitting in my private guild channel. They are my eyes and ears and are consistently working with me while I continue to coordinate the militia and other guildies in the main borderland or EB channel.

- Great Community Website; We have a great community website www.tcgw2.com; that we are consistently trying to increase in activity. It has a private War Council for in-depth strategic and tactical discussion along with a place for our militia to come and try to get more involved.

- Tomes of Material & Guides; We as a community truly believe that we are only as strong as our weakest player. This is why we go out of our way to produce materials and guides ranging from Basic Introductions to Advanced Strategies. We try to educate the masses as best as we can. In-fact some of us take it so seriously that we actually have a comprehensive WvW ‘Tome’ encompassing a total of 88 pages written by yours truly; this was created by working with all the respectable & experienced commanders on our server. A preview of this guide is posted below.

I personally believe that when a commander starts thinking that he knows everything; that is when he/she gets left behind. This thirst for knowledge by finding new creative strategies (wait for culling to disappear and everyone will need to find new strategies) or spec groups or in-combat tactics is what consistently increases the meta-evolution of this game. People don’t realize that this game is still fairly new and we are only scratching the surface of the meta-game.

3. Channels of Communication
All the commanders in the main WvW guilds get along. We have open channels of communication and truly believe in multi-guild coordination. There is no hierarchy of ego’s between us. We respect those that are more experienced and give credit where its due but it’s far from a dictatorship or a democracy. I would say it’s more along the lines of a ‘controlled democracy’. Any guild that decides to move here will have a voice at the table and be welcomed with open arms into the War Council (Commanders). They will have an equal say on the overall planning and strategic discussion. We believe in inclusivity from the get-go.

4. Veteran Oceanic’s
Our server is a NA-heavy server. This does not mean that we are completely full in NA time, in fact other than TCBL and EB there are no queues in other maps during NA primetime. When the guilds have decided to make a coordinated push on an enemy borderland a queue might pop up but the longest that has been is 15 to 30 minutes. Even so this still results in only having 2/4 maps at queue.
Our oceanics are a rag-tag bunch of hardened veterans. I play during oceanic and euro as well. We have fought with inferior numbers against tremendous oceanic powerhouses; we fought against Crystal Desert multiple times, we fought against Sea of Sorrow and Blackgate when they were on the rise and Blackgate again when they were back at Tier 2 and heavily increasing their oceanic presence and we have held our own. I would go so far on a limb and say that our oceanic although lacking in number consist of far more experienced and less-mistake prone players than our NA crew. Although a lot of our NA do consistently pull all nighters to keep us competitive #nolife.

5. Long Term Vision
This is what separates us from the other bandwagon servers. We have stability because the backbone of our WvW is the militia/pugs. We have many veterans scattered among various small guilds. This backbone will always exist. TC will always be the unofficial RP server therefore population of militia/pugs will never be an issue. We are not solely dependent on our large WvW guilds so even if they decide to transfer over there won’t be a plummet in tiers and performance. The stability will always be there. We want to encourage more WvW focused guilds to join us in order to make a push to top Tier 2 and eventually be competitive in Tier 1. None of the things that happened to HoD and ET will EVER happen to TC. I know everyone believes that their server has server pride and that is also the case with TC; there is a loyalty to the server that is almost cult-like.
In conclusion, I really hope that your guild considers Tarnished Coast as a possible destination to call their home. Do look past the myth of it being an RP server. I do not understand your fear, in the first place is a day off, and everyone wants to go to war and with the condition that the WWW can hold all the cards with one hand more than 500 people, what others are doing? Over the weekend on all servers queues) is used to this stage there is not because of the new guilds. just because of those old ones. all guilds want to play and they have destroyed the time frame (instead of 3-4 hours of Prime’s can play and 12-14) from here and turn. We are not to blame yourself you can create them ..

Transfernulis mostly Russian guilds that play for 3-4 hours before (and who is on 10 hours) than the European guild. And of course when these guilds opening event ends at the beginning of your Prime, we took our time every niche but carry a server to its goal.

The goal of Piken Square is (or was until a week ago) to stay in T4 and have good fights without queues. Now that we’re on our way up and have ridiculous queues most core guilds are considering leaving, and if everything stays like this after a few weeks core guilds will leave and Piken Square will be going down faster than Blacktide.

I agree im one of those considering leaving as Queue’s equal hrs not minutes on all bl’s it’s not even funny in the slightest. Not to mention the old fighting spirit of Piken is gone and it’s just random pugs who run the defense of our bl, i see another server following BT’s free fall before paid transfers come in as nobody will want to be stuck on a sinking ship.

Queues are so bad we cannot get our strong prime time guilds in intact and many are leaving as a result to lower populated servers and NA servers, community spirit is a shambles as the remainder choose to vent their frustration on their fellow Piken than the enemy all in all we went from a united community to a divided community in 2 weeks all because of the influx of un invited EU prime time guilds that have destroyed the sensitive balance that Piken had achieved (Piken Square R.I.P)

There are never queues on Tarnished Coast (except for maybe EB sometimes) during European prime time hours and having a few Euro groups/players of similar mindset join us on the Coast would compliment our NA crew wonderfully.

And for those who may be worried about lag, the co-leader of our guild is European as well as about 25 or so members and none of them have ever reported having any issues.

If anyone is thinking of transferring to Piken Square for Euro Primtime, once again do consider Tarnished Coast, we have the same mature community that comes with being the unofficial RP server, but also have an avid WvW community (Tier 2 in North America).

We have NO Q’s. None. And you’re Euro WvW guild could make a name for itself for TC in this timezone.

Unless this is a troll thread then what we are offering a feasible solution to the problem. Piken and TC already share a common bond within the RP community and we were reaching out to them before this thread ever surfaced.

Ignore him im sure most of piken would support the fact your offering an alternative to those who are considering coming or are new arrivals to Piken that have only unfortunately done more harm than good.

There are many servers reaching out for people your is one of many examples Piken is unfortunately not one of those servers we can no longer facilitate the expectations many would find appealing and further more do you want to be stuck in that position after paid transfers because lets be honest the next few weeks up until then are not going to be fun for anyone and we will be stuck in that situation until everyone quits the game.

I don’t think it’s bad at all. PS is having queue problems during the European prime time, TC has the opposite problem, I’m pretty sure our queues teleport you back in time before it puts you into WvW during that time slot. All the people posting here have been doing is offering a solution for the RP/WvW guilds that wanted to go to PS but can’t because of queues.

Of course, this assumes that this isn’t some kind of psychological trick to get more guilds. I have no clue anymore.

Anyone considering Piken or may have joined recently will see this thread and understand 1 that we are full at prime time EU and Queues are seriously long and 2 they also can see alternatives that have similar communities with fewer queue’s and a safer bet to stay on past paid transfers.

None of our folks are recruiting anyone we apparently are attracting people regardless and that guild will see for themselves they where better off on Gandara because this server has already begun to take a huge nose dive and will only get worse over the next few weeks.

Not to mention if the community at large is not on this forum which is why this thread even exists those guilds are merely the deaf leading the blind

TO be honest, what we need is late night/early morning coverage. We got the day covered, but unfortunately, that’s worth very little considering some tacticis(I won’t mention what I think of it, as I want to keep this clean). So if there are some NA guilds that are looking for a solid place, please, SFR could use you.

I doubt this will help, in fact I suspect it will make it worse. This is a gaming community, typically filled with people who enjoy spreading malice.

As for the guilds that consider moving, don’t, you came to this server for whatever reason, don’t quit it because, well, it’s what everyone else is doing, stick by it until and after the payed server transfers come. Don’t ruin another server, please.

And for those who still want to move here, I ask that ,for once, reach past that hate and malice that drives you to move to a server filled to the point of breaking and find your human decency and don’t contribute to the destruction of this server.

Such a shame, Piken was one of the very few servers that had worked on building their community, but I suppose its was like inviting a few friends to the party and it went viral, so many party crashers. This was EU main role playing server that were pretty good in WvW (toned it down), pity that those that dont participate in that kind of game play had to ruin it for others.
