Please separate WvW and PvE players.
They should sepearate the jumping puzzles, because that can really bring down the size of the servers fighting force.
Other than that, pve and wvw players can co-habitate, and have been since launch. Not every wvw player only plays wvw.
I’m a WvW player. I’m also a PvE player… and a sPvP player.
Being a WvW player, I’m also aware that an unfortunately large portion of WvW-focused players have declared quite frequently that they refuse to participate in ppt/scoring, that they consider GvG and/or ganking to be their only goals and that “only noob PVEers care about ppt”
so maybe don’t be so quick to segregate everyone, give the players newly joining WvW a chance to learn the ropes and some of them might just discover they have a taste for the gameplay.

It is good that they try to bring in more players into the maps. Often people don’t even try to play WvW because it is a PvP styled gamemode. I was one of them. But it is so much fun that i play at least 70% of the time wvw now.
Of course high populated servers have queues but that is the price for greater forces and better time coverage.
Changing this would only punish the small servers which already have enough disadvantages.
Also queue times are the only balancing factor at the moment that drives guilds to transfer to smaller servers. (Besides server drama)
We noticed more players on our borderlands yesterday and so our raidlead started to talk about all the special things in wvw and why we do this and that.
There was a lot of positive response and we have now a few more players that will play wvw more often.
The jumping puzzle shouldnt even be an achievement. Now we got a ton of PvE glory hunters wasting slots to get their cheap AP.
I think this is a great way to get more people playing wvw. All I hear in this post is, “please don’t encourage new players to wvw.” People who really care about their server’s performance should be looking for new faces and inviting them for training or into a wvw guild. I go into wvw a few times per week, but I’m not hardcore about it and I’m not in a wvw guild. I had so much fun running with the zerg yesterday and I hope Seasons brings in a lot more. regular players.
actually most of the pve players have been fun to work with. a lot of them ask if they dont know what to do and we invited them all in our s so they can learn the ropes fast. who knows, some pve players will like wvw and wvw will get more populated again for servers that had their guilds lost to t1.

WvW has been in the game since launch. If they didn’t want to do it by now adding achievements is not going to change that.
All they are going to do is as little as possible to get the achievements and then get out.
That’s like saying I shouldn’t be allowed to do a PvE event because I spend most of my time in WvW. The OP’s comment is elitest and just wrong.
Everyone should have known that queues would be long for this league. It wasn’t hard to figure out. So many people instead bandwagoned to higher tier servers. They get what they deserve. The queues are not bad at all on the lower tiers.
The long queues are not caused just by people moving to the servers in Gold league. Everyone knew days before it went live what the queues were. People didn’t all move there just on Thursday the day before.
They queues have doubled/tripled due to the influx of PvE players looking for achievements.

I’ve always dabbled in wvw, though I’m not a “regular” there, and I do the JP’s about once per week anyway. With the new achievements, I’m going in daily and following a commander around while trying to learn more about strategies used as well as work out a build that I’m comfortable with. So yes, the achievements have made me, personally, more interested in wvw, especially with the karma flowing in, and I certainly want to pull my weight. Don’t be quick to discount players going in for achievements. You’ve got to spend a while in wvw to get them all and that will help players get a feel for whether or not they enjoy wvw.
And yes, plenty of players will be in to get their achievements and get out… Im just don’t like the attitude of the OP. If jp’s are really causing the queue, you should see it get better after a few days, but I suspect the queue is from the other achievements, like claiming sentry points, killing dokyaks, capping supply camps, etc mixed with the fun of seeing so many other players on the map.

The only change is the addition of easy obtainable achievements with rewards.
You have had a year to get in WvW and learn the ins and out. You chose to only enter when you needed to do the jump puzzle.
Don’t hold it against me if I don’t believe you when you say all of a sudden you are into WvW.
I think ANet is trying to increase our numbers enough to make WvW worth the trouble. We are a tiny minority in GW2 making big demands. I see the same people every day in EB, and it is a fairly small number of people.
I haven’t even gone near any of the JP since this started….. why what’s going on in them?
Why are people doing them right now?
There is no benefits to bringing PvE and WvW players together (other than guild missions).
Please don’t include LS JPs in WvW maps and please don’t include PvP finishers as LS achievement for PvE players.
Just accept the fact that the player base enjoys different aspect of the game and that is the end of it.
The WvW maps are already queued up to the throat and no need to encourage new PvE players into WvW temporarily for some JP and no contribution to the server WvW score.. If a PvE player want to focus on WvW then that is a different story and should be fine and they can follow the commander and what not.
I hope the WvW seasons continue as planned and it is a great addition to the game but please give it some thoughts before adding all these unneeded PvE stuff into it.
I completely disagree on almost every point.
Transfer off your stacked server if you are complaining about queues.

Sorry OP, I extremely disagree with you. While there are some minor ques at prime times, 5-10 minutes, that is certainly not a reason to exclude such a vast percentage of players from this game mode.
The only way you are experiencing a very significant overall que problem is if you are a stacker on a stacked server, in which case you are part of the problem not the solution and get exactly what you deserve, likewise with your guild/friends if they are likeminded.
On our server we are very happy to see all the new faces in WvW, many have joined us on our VOIP and plan to become at least regular casuals and are already adjusting their builds, gearing up, etc.
I thank Anet very much for taking the steps which they have to bring in the PvE crowd and expose them to WvW.
PvE players are totally messing up the league. WvW players have big difficulties to join borderlands during evening due to a huge amount of PvE players infesting the maps just to farm achievement points and not really playing for the server.
I’m rank 365 and yesterday evening I had to give up playing WvW after an hour of queue because of lot of useless PvE players were occupying slots of people willing to play seriously just to make jumping puzzles or continue to capture central points of the map. Guild members reported that there were even around ten players afk at the citadel wp.
Moreover due to these players without respect we have huge lag since every border has 225 players at the same time.
Please go back farming fractal or at least if you want to stay in WvW you must play to help the server following commander’s orders and don’t disappear immediately after league.
My suggestion: queue order determined by player’s WvW rank.
what kind of armor should bandwagon tears buy ?
good armor. You can make better armor than you can find or buy most of the time.
The new influ of people had a full year to try and like WvW. Guess what, they didn’t want to.
They are only there for the achievements at the expense of the players who have been doing WvW for the last year.

I’ve only been playing for 5 months. About three months ago, I started completing the maps to get 100% map completion for my legendary gift. In between then and now, I’ve gone in to farm karma and badges for my second legendary, as I spent my achievement badges on an armor set. I’ve done the jp’s numerous times before this. So no, I’m not just now getting into wvw, I’ve started getting into it about a month ago, and I like to play in wvw when I have enough time to stay for a while. And now I have more of a reason to visit it more frequently. I don’t know why I’m explaining myself, so I will stop there =)
Doing the jumping puzzle is not getting into WvW to actually participate in WvW.
The fact that you don’t know the difference proves my point.
And the fact that the reason you have to visit it more often is the new achievements again proves my point.
I agree, you should stop posting.
surprise. You will run into snobs in WvW. oh well.
You run into PVE snobs coming into WvW acting like they know everything as well.

What about people who are both PvE’ers and WvW’ers? Should we be cut in half and only allowed to play with one bisected portion of our bodies? Or should anyone who doesn’t eat, sleep and breathe WvW and WvW alone be forced to scrape and bow for spots in the queue behind our beloved hardcore betters, who only want wots best fer us poor peasants, like?
Please, sir, may I have some war?
Don’t get me wrong, most of the achievements are a bit…ill-advised in my opinion (they are all far to offensively-oriented for a start, with nothing for defending, scouting or tactics) but these reactions are ridiculous. Sharing is preschool-level stuff.

yeah, everyone should have foreseen that many will come to WvW when the season begin, be it with or without achievement point…….
so stop complaining about queue if you transferred to stacked server, you get what you wished for, coverage…..
