Hey all, I have been reading through many recent threads and thought it would be a good idea to start a thread with a compiled list of ideas for QoL improvements players have mentioned they would like to see in WvW.
Here are some that I have seen:
*Siege Wallet.
*Build Templates.
*Ways to prevent tactivator abuse/trolling.
*More ways to get Flax Fibers for guild upgrades. Put them in reward tracks or create a forge recipe to create them from flax seeds.
*A way to get ascended gear and other rewards.
*Reward tracks that are unique to WvW with special rewards.
*Rotate DBL each week so it is not limited to red side only..one week green, next week blue, then red, and repeat etc.
*Improve pathing and navigation in DBL.
*More Enrichment Infusions for Amulets specifically made for WvW.
*Squad Improvements, different colors (nametags, and dots on map) for party members to allow better positioning and make it easier for party members to stay close, when they are running specific group comps.
*Remove/Reduce player cap for WvW guild missions.
*Option to disable screen popup messages, and WxP floaters.
*Changes to Waypoint Contesting.
*WvW Lobby.
*Tone down the DBL keep lords, too much CC spam.
*Rewards for Excess WvW rank points.
Please add your own ideas.

Class balance. It’s utterly a joke with what it used to be.
Is it really that hard to remember a build? I get that convenience is nice, but wouldn’t it just make the whole copy builds from metabattles even worse. People wouldn’t even need to look at which traits they take with a build saver.

GW had build templates which makes build variations much easier to manage. No reason GW2 shouldn’t have shipped with them since swapping out gear and traits can be a serious pain.
As for players copying builds, who cares? It is not like a build plays itself in most instances. I would rather players that need help get it. Besides most builds on meta-battle are fairly generic and typically not hyper-optimized.
I think some people who did not play GW1 are confused about what a build template/saver system is. It lets the player create a build and save/load it when possible. This would be very useful in wvw as there are different playstyles and a build that works with one, may not necessarily be effective for another.
For example I do pretty much everything, zerg, small ops, havok, scouting, roaming, even dolyak escorting, etc. A build template system would make it so much easier and would encourage players to pursue different playstyles rather then simply sticking to one like zerging.

Imho they belong to the balance side of things and not to QoL so i disagree with their presence in this thread.
*Rotate DBL each week so it is not limited to red side only..one week green, next week blue, then red, and repeat etc.
Best thing I want to see from that is Maguuma rolling up the same color the dbl rolls up lol.

Others I’d like to see.
Commander tag more visible over nameplates in game, sometimes it gets lost in the nameplates especially if the player is asuran, which sometimes leads to having to place a target reticle on them, which defeats the purpose of the commander tag.- Squad only commander tags, visible on the map to only those in the squad.
- Showing proper linked world names for player name tags, for example for Darkhaven and Ehmry, instead of only showing Darkhaven tags, it would show both to allies and enemies.
- Changing the color of the current target arrow to another color and and perhaps shape or size (I know, not a wvw only issue). At times it’s fairly easy to lose your targeting when you target downed players who also have the small red down arrows on them.
- Abbreviated guild names under their icons on the flags for any claimed areas.
- Update Outnumbered buff to perhaps provide a minor bloodlust stat boost.
- Npc guards and lords updated to wear Triumphant armor, and Mistforged hero weapons.
- Power of the mist rewards showed as a buff with server name and percentages, to players of that world in wvw and pve. (That’s if the rewards stay with the skirmish score changes). Perhaps if pve players see the buffs they get from wvw they may want to help in wvw more.
- For an example when you hover the mouse over the buff:
Blackgate WvW bonuses for Pve.
Artisan: 20% increased chance of crafting critical success.
Gatherer: 20% chance of additional gathering node uses
Defender: 10% increased defense against monsters.
Energetic: 10% endurance regeneration bonus.
Medic: 10% increased healing effectiveness
Robust: 10% increased maximum health
Scavenger: 10% bonus coin per kill.
Wisdom: 10% bonus experience per kill.Couple others added.
Display percentages for the health of walls/gates you target.- Going along with the RI displays on the map, maybe also display the amount of supply currently at a structure.
- Reward tracks, allow one track to be marked as default, which the system will revert to when the current track is completed.

I would love to have build templates, siege wallet and better rewards. I think its very, very long overdue for WVW to have some unique items of its own, maybe a couple ascended items with unique skins, or maybe even a stat combo or 2.
Each PVE map has introduced its own ascended stat or some ascended gear, sPVP has ascended even though it completely doesn’t use it, so I don’t understand why WVW doesn’t have it.
Here is another, auto-hide option for mini-pets in WvW.
Also remove minipet dots from minimap so players do not confuse it with other players.

This feature is already implemented to some extent. DBL shows breakable status on almost all walls. ABL and EB display walls’ damaged status more or less randomly.
I do agree with these qol changes….but wvw as a game mode needs a massive overhaul.
I don’t want Anet to give us token qol changes and ignore the major issues of pop balance, profession balance and rewards that are on par with the other game modes.
- Add an option to refresh all friendly siege in an objective by talking to the lord or the overseer
- Alternatively remove the refreshing of siege. i.e. make siege always decay but let it be built half the supply cost within friendly objectives.

One of the problems with the idea of being able to instantly refresh all siege is that it can easily promote siege trolling. One of the nice things about siege decay timers and the need to refresh it is that it allows paper/troll siege to expire and the only other way to remove it is to have it get destroyed.
love to play my ranger, engi, or mez and not have to pug it or do small ops doing so. no reason any class should be frowned upon in guild groups after all this time…..

The talk option could be available to the guild which claimed the objective – if they choose so. Like using tactivators.

About a year ago we got a poll asking if players wanted Scoring changes or QoL changes.
We never got a vote to fix the main problems in WvW (skill lag, population imbalance, lack of competition). I guess it was too obvious to even ask. They recently (some months back) mentioned they are working on rebalancing populations, so a problem is being addressed.
Solutions to the main problems require designer/architect/lead dev work. The developers/testers need to work on something else meanwhile. Let it be QoL changes. That is better than assigning them to the next expansion pack. Or to create more Repair Hammers, Deployable Cannons or Golem Rush events.
A few more:
-A way to reset WxP points, would be helpful for new players
-A visible RI timer on shrines in DBL when hovering your mouse cursor over it like other objectives.
-Add an option to an existing vendor (or add a new vendor) that allows players to exchange excess items like tomes of knowledge for stuff like Badges of Honor and/or Proofs of Heroics
Maybe something like 1 tome of knowledge can be exchanged for 1 proof or 5/10 badges.
-I got to use the new launchpads in DBL last night with my guild during a raid, and we enjoyed the mechanic. But I would suggest that some of them be repositioned. I dont think they should land you right next to any objective or shrine, and the one that takes you over Earth Keep should definately be moved. Even though you cannot get off while traveling you can still see whats inside the keep and that seems a little unfair.

That’s true but Anet seem to think we should be satisfied with small qol changes in lieu of fixing the really big issues!
It would be great if we get some qol changes at each patch and I will be grateful but I hope Anet is working on the big issues along side the qol!
