Been bothering me (and probably not only me) since some time. I started lvling up another character because of getting a little bored and want to try out something new. The WvW queues are pretty long/random at evenings. Here comes the thing: I would prefer to play on my 80lvl character in WvW, but sitting 1-2 hr in queue while not doing anything else (let’s say not really interested in pve/spvp) is frustrating and not productive, so I go to lvl up my alt in the meantime, but then I’m kinda forced to play the low lvl in WvW (rallybot).

Could we possibly have an option in the future when the queue window pops: “On which character would you like to join?” and then we can just pick 1 from the list and play on it? That way players could enjoy doing whatever they want on alt and play WvW on main.

I know the new map Edge of The Mists is coming to give us something to do while in queue, but just thought that many ppl would appreciate to have that kind of choice.

it is a really good idea, we clearly need it!

They should add this when they fix the queue with the new map, as well as say the estimated time and maybe a little sound when the queue pops in case you are alt tabbed or something.

You are asking for luxury. I would love a less kittening kittened queue system. I have been in the kittening queue for 4 hours while some kitten gets in after 5 minutes of queue.

Suggested this a long while back. Seems easy enough with the ease we have in switching characters and what-not. I’d gladly like to see “Go to Eternal Battlegrounds as ____”.

What about charging 75 gems for changing character in dungeon. Ooohh noooo that’s PvE. Seriously, WvW deserves character selection.

Yeah and allow relog ingame to other char without having to requeue cause we need it with WXP account bound(I have cannon mastery on 1 char and doing speeding dolyaks with another char cause other class that is better suited… want to switch back to main for emergencies and if cannons are ready but then… queue…).

I can see how this would be seriously difficult from a programming perspective.

Character selection is made at a very early point, before the main program begins to run. But entry into WvW is much later on, in an entirely different part of the process after establishing the avatar in some location then starting queueing.
A bit like going to collect your new car from the showroom and then deciding you’d prefer a different make/model.

I think you are probably ‘asking for the moon’ as the saying goes.
