Dog Biscuits [DOG] – Stormbluff Isle
Self-Proclaimed King of Orr – “It’s MY Island”
While the servers in Tier 1, 2, and possibly 3 have no problem attracting players to WvW, severely lacking in population/coverage is a clearly an issue in the lower-tiered servers. Prior to the introduction of the megaservers, one way of attracting new players to WvW or “rallying the troops” was by calling out to players in Lion’s Arch. However, with the addition of the megaservers (and including Lion’s Arch map in the megaservers) this is no longer possible.
While I realize server pride is all but non-existent these days, it has become very difficult for the lower-tier servers to recruit players to WvW save for speaking to a player individually, or recruiting here on the forums (and let’s face it, a far greater number of players are interested in playing the game, not reading the forums, especially when it comes to WvW). Furthermore, removing Lion’s Arch from the megaserver will have little-to-no impact on players who choose to PvE/run dungeons/fractals, as those opportunities exist on every server, megaserver or not, while guaranteeing that players attempting to recruit from their own server’s player base are, in fact, reaching players from their own server.
This is a great idea. I very much doubt it will ever happen.
It has been suggested many times on the forums that all capital cities should be removed from Megaservers, but I don’t think there was ever a response. It is a good ideea and it would be helpful, but I think it unlikely to happen.
A better idea might be adding a new chat option for server-specific chat. As we have /m /s /p etc right now, maybe a new ‘/’ that only those registered with that server can see.
Add a server chat would do even better, unfortunately for spambot a as well

Well, could always limit it to the same area as mapchat, then further limit to those only registered with a specific server. For example, only those in LA that are registered with Northern Shiverpeaks could see chat from myself if I use that new / command.

To the OP, dude, you are so right! I have done that! Sure, I would have to dodge-roll the rotten vegetables and fruit that some strictly PvE’ers would throw at me, but in the end… some people did come and help the team! It was successful when I was on GoM and on SBI. By the way, much respect for KWBH! I salute you guys!
And if Anet doesn’t like the LA separation from the megaserver idea, then, as some have said above… a server chat channel would do the job too!
+10!!!

There are various ways around this:
Megaservers completely destroyed server communities. A lot of us used to just hang out near the bank and mystic forge, chasing each other around using various tonics and stuff.
Of course, destroying Lions Arch didn’t help with that either but we could have all found a new place to hang out.
These days I have no idea where my friends are in the game.
Another suggestion would be to put in a SERVER designated global chat that would not broadcast to the megaserver but to the person’s home server.
Once a lower tier server recruits PvE players to WvW, a T1 or T2 server will scavenge them and pay them to transfer to one of the top tiers. This has been happening since launch and is the self destructive nature of ArenaNet’s WvW design. Coverage and population beats all means that T1 servers are on a never ending scavenging mission, cannibalising the guilds and players from lower tier servers to sustain their reign in T1.
The fundamental design of WvW needs to change for lower tier servers to have a sustainable way to attract and keep players. As it is, WvW guilds just get paid to move up.

As Said in the scoring Diskussion, the scoring should Chance from the current “i’ve more” to “i do better/equal/worser than man-power let expect”.
If you have 70% of the manpower in a tick you need 70%of the ppt or you make minus. If you have 10% of the man power you need 11% of the ppt to make plus.
Or alternatively strict manpower balance: no one can field more people than in the mean of ALL MATCHES currently want to play. So if 190 want to play in T1 and 10 in T8, the mean is 100, 90 of T1 sit in queue. For sure for this we should reduce server and matches with the current numbers this doesn’t make sense. And maybe even two permanently separated leagues, the small scale league and the blobber league
