Retaliation uptime? Dmg increase?
Light Auras grant 2s of retaliation when you are struck, with a 1s icd… Prior that, you would get 5s retaliation from the same finish anyway, so I don’t see how this change affected the damage you’re taking back.

this cant be true or is buggy – cause yesterday i saw this grafikeffect around me from light aura while “running” with a zerg or jsut stand around

I get light aura from using leap finishers over light fields (Mostly from using Guardian GS 4 and then 3). It looks like the screenshot below.
The Tooltip of the buff doesn’t apear on screenshots but it says:
When struck, you gain 2 seconds of retaliation. (Cooldown: 1s)
When struck, you apply 8 seconds of vulnerability.
The Light Aura itself seens to last 5 seconds.

The tooltip says nothing else on the vulnerability line… I belive there is a 1s icd too as I saw a enemy npc get 3 vulnerability stacks before the aura faded.

from what i c, that red damage got increased significtly.
Before even if u had 3k power the ret would be not more then 280-290, right now i’m rarely getting those numbers but all retaliations hits 300+. They really ninja increased the scale to almost back what it was long time ago.

what he said. retaliation is hitting harder than before this latest patch, but still not quite as hard as pve/pre-wvw nerf.

They’ve decided playing anything except warrior, guardian or possibly necro is a waste of time and have made it impossible for any other classes to be able to use their skills without almost killing themselves in one cast.

Yes. I can also confirm that retaliation is hitting doing over 300 dmg consistently. And you only need slightly over 2k power on your character to achieve that

198 + (0.075 * Power), assume 2200 power, should lead to 240 dmg, but now instead it does about 307, which makes me suspect that they got the formula wrong:
198 + 0.075 * Power*0.66
The correct formula should of course be (198 + 0.075 * Power)*0.66
Retaliation is punishing skills like grenade barrage (engi toolbelt), flamethrower auto attack (engi), grenade kit (engi), barrage (ranger long bow), meteor shower (ele staff), static field (ele staff), whirling wrath (guardian greatsword) overly hard.

198 + (0.075 * Power), assume 2200 power, would lead to 306 with -33% reduction
With a 33% reduction, that should hit for 243, not 306. It is hitting 25% harder than it should, it seems. It is also hitting this hard in pvp.
Retal has definitely increased in the damage it does. At about 2500 power I was doing 26x of retal pre-patch, now it appears to be in the 300s (with an unknown number of might stacks up, but in the low teens, I was popping off retal numbers in the 380 range).
