Fine work lads, we did it again.

I think Yak’s Bend has begun this week with a vengeance after a VERY close matchup between last week’s Sanctum of Rall vs Yak’s Bend vs Northern Shiverpeaks (gg all!).

They are proving to be a very challenging contender. It’s obvious they have great leadership and teamwork. Keep up the great work. I feel for GoM, because it felt (to me) like Yak’s Bend and Sanctum of Rall came out of the gate swinging for each other, and Gates of Madness found themselves frequently sandwiched in the middle of a “personal thing” between the two other servers from our previous matchup. Yaks have come out on top with a very decent lead on the first day. Looking forward to how the week plays out for all 3 of us. Hoping for a very intense week of ferocious WvWvW!

GoM just doesn’t have the numbers to defend anything through the night clearly.
Mind you it is only the first day pretty much… We’ll see how the rest of the week pans out.

I don’t blame Yak’s Bend, all is fair in love and war. They won, good for them. Now, it’s just another boring match where nothing really happens.

But I’ll blame GoM for lack of WvW guilds, teamship and ridiculous amount of PvE people, who showing up only when we have leading position.

Oh well. I have Dishonored to play.

Dang, I was looking forward to a match similar to last weeks… Well guess that’s just how it’s going to play out…

Time to work on my map completion.

Pooka is a beast. I’ve seen him solo a zerg with just him and his veteran guards.

I guess Yaks as a whole decided they cant beat SOR unless they have a buff, I think we oughtta be flattered SOR, I take it as a compliment that they had to organize an entire realm to defeat a realm full of players who werent even trying to begin with. But i digress good game so far Yaks ……. enjoy this victory while it lasts, this wont happen again!!

Kind of says something if you think SOR aren’t trying, with how close last weeks game was, why would you have not brought your A game?

The yaks are starting off pretty fierce this week, but this is a marathon, not a sprint. Grats on the +695 at 5 am. Here’s hoping you run out of redbull and sleep like the rest of us.

It isn’t over and Yak’s would do well to remember what place SoR was in before we got serious. You won’t keep those orbs forever and then you will have to actually fight.

I see nothing but QQ posts. Seriously, Yak’s wasn’t even trying that hard… Every single week, yak’s bend gets double teamed. Instead of crying about it like you guys do, we had to improvise. Grow a pair and stop the crying and whining. More pew pew, less QQ.

Yaks didn’t organize for your server’s sake. We got organized weeks ago and are constantly working to improve our teamwork all of the time regardless of who we are playing. We have A-game communication and D-game population (although the pop seems to be growing, maybe our organizational efforts are paying off and people are seeing that).

I also know for a fact your server is trying to work together. I have spoken with some officers from guilds on SOR before and they were very classy folks who seemed to have some keen wits about them. You should try to contact those people if you think your server isn’t trying. It is possible it is just you being out of the loop and not working with the team.

I’m not making an accusation though about you personally, I don’t know anything about you. I just know SOR has a lot of fine folks playing there and the server you describe who just sits back and doesn’t try isn’t the server i’ve seen in action fighting us the past week.

I’m disappointed by the chest-beating and accusation throwing in this thread. Yes, we have pulled out to an early lead this week and it was definitely due to effort and communication. There isn’t any need to call “exploits” from the other side, nor is there any reason to gloat on ours. Let’s keep it civil and classy.

I’m looking forward to the dynamic this week will have, especially knowing what SoR did last week and what GoM has achieved in the past. Here’s to a good week of fierce fighting.

A. fight it out for second place.

B. A temporary truce. Each stays out of the others home BG. The 3rd place team at noon server gets EB the other Yaks. Last night we did more damage to each other than we did collectively to Yaks. the results of this folly speak for themselves. The only way to offset the gross disparity of numbers is to split Yaks in half and make them earn their points the old fashioned way.

Nah no need for those shenanigans. Yaks is blowing stuff up right now, I don’t think the momentum will last once the weekend is over.

I’d expect a slightly different dynamic soon. I think quite a few people burnt themselves out on that last match. I was sleep deprived for most of the week, lol. I know I for one am planning on resting up tonight and coming on strong for the rest of the week in our match. I’d assume you have players in similar situations on both of your servers.

As a Yak player I like this idea. You both say out of each others BG, this will make crushing you easier. Then we get our BG and both of yours. Feel free to fight over EB. But as we all had to queue we simply made better use of our numbers. We made sure we had a quick response time to all pressure and attacked on multiple fronts.

I have no doubt that things will pick up for SoR. I am not sure why they are getting off to a slow start this weekend, but last week they put up such good competition. It was so much fun to play against them last week. I am sure they will bring it again this week.

Look who got their orb back! Well wont be seeing Yaks in 1v1 combat anymore this week, probly wont even leave their BL without their 3 orb buff.

@preech All I’ve seen you do is cry about how yaks are exploiting and all that, maybe you should get off the forums and start to do some more WvW.

I don’t get you, preech. You constantly criticize attacking when it’s advantageous, as if that’s a bad thing. The objective is to win, is it not? Why would you purposely do something the hard way when a better way presented itself? Stop being such a petulant child. Already SoR is doing a great job today, so why don’t you leave it in game.

Congrats to Yaks on the strong start, but this match is far from over.

@preech so when YB ran straight through the middle on an SOR zerg multiple times on multiple maps through out most of the day and night we were just hiding?

As to those that think GOM weren’t putting the effort in on the YB BL early on from SOR, maybe you just weren’t on YB BL when GOM had a 40-50 person zerg going around.

All that’s happened thus far is YB has gotten off to a flyer and that we’re only ahead after 1 lap of a 7 lap race.

I saw some of them on SoR.
At least a few of them did build siege after I placed blueprints.

So they weren’t as bad as RK who slowly had their guild kicked from WvW due to standing afk in the Garrison.

As for the match, it’s a bit to early to tell right now. I do hope it turns out to be a fun one though.

Actually all it shows is that people need to stop whining after only one day in to the matchup. Yaks had a very strong first day but if all the people whining and slinging mud in this post gave up because of it, they deserve to lose.
