Server Association
you already did what is supposed to be done i.e. sending ticket.
others can’t help you, only ANET can.
Archeage = Farmville with PK
It appears to take a large amount of effort to change the status.
having changed servers on the second week, and having not actually done any WvW at all with my original server for the season, it took 4+ days of 8hour WvW action to shift myself to the new server.
Im not sure what’s included in shifting your association, you may wish to try something other than what youve been doing though (if youve been roaming, follow the zerg. If you’ve been killing a lot but not taking objectives, try that instead. Also maybe complete up the achievements if you havent already.)

I am mostly with the zerg but thanks for the advise, this thing is really bugging me out because I have played alot in my new server, and I find it very unfair if I wouldnt get the rewards
Same problem here, shifted second week in the tourney and at this point I’m sure I’ve contributed WAY more to my server than my old one.
Yet I still get the message that I’m associated with my old one. I roamed a lot, I’ve zerged a lot AND I’ve capped a lot. I wonder when and IF I’ll get associated eventually.
Sent 2 tickets so far, 1 unreplied and 1 pending.
I’m curious

You will be associated to the server you started the tournament on, doesn’t matter if you change week 1 of the tournament or week 9. You will always be associated to the server you started the tournament on; whether you played 0 hours in WvW and 200 on the new one, doesn’t make a difference.
Bluntski
Remember those people who transferred in season 1 and never got their rewards? I hope it doesn’t happen this time as well.
I have the same problem, and sent a ticket too yesterday, no answer so far (but I since I only sent it yesterday, I guess this will come… won’t it?)
Despite that, it’s quite annoying to see the lack of information we get there. I mean, NPCs tell almost nothing about that, and we have no communication from the devs… I do really not understand why several players (according to this forum) have been able to switch their affiliation, and why other ones can’t.

Why shouldn’t switching to the winning server have a price?
Such behavior has done great damage to the whole competition.

They said in their blog post that you home server will be the one you contributed most in the season
As some have pointed out a mid-season transfer is pretty risky. I would not have advised it and do not advise it for players considering it. The chances of getting screwed on rewards are higher when doing this.

Your world association is not determined based on the sheer amount of time you’ve spent fighting for a world, but rather the things you’ve achieved during your time fighting with that world.

Thanks for your respons, but I am 100% certain that I’ve done way more during the season on my new server than my old one, I’ve already wrote tickets about this and they just ignored :/

It sounds like you need to finish the Spring WvW achievements with the new server in order for the association to change. But if you finished your achievements with the old server already, then you’re out of luck, unless Mark is talking about achievement points in general.
Desolation better get their kitten together. I want my rewards!
On a serious note, still associated with Deso, although I certainly don’t mind that :P

It seems more likely to me that achievement points alone aren’t the only factor, they definitely contribute, but capping keeps, towers and generally giving PPT for your server is what counts towards your home server.
Maybe contribution during a WvW season is not counted until the end of the season?

I transfered from NSP to JQ too 3 weeks ago and I completed my achievements in JQ. I’m still associated with my old server so. I played ALOT in this 3 weeks. I completed some achievement in NSP but i did the rest in JQ. I send a ticket to Anet last week… got this answer :
Hello,
We wanted to apologize for the delay in responding to your support ticket and to assure you that your ticket is in the queue awaiting review. We anticipate that an agent will be able to work on your support request soon, so please watch for our e-mail.
Thank you for your continued patience.

Could we get a more specific answer? Is it about player kills, camp/tower/keep captures? A combination of all these? Or just specifically how many of the season 2 achievements you’ve completed on a server.
I sincerely hope it isn’t about how many season 2 achievements you’ve completed on a server, otherwise this would be a serious oversight that would screw many people out of a decent reward that they payed a ton of gold or even money for.
… that would screw many people out of a decent reward that they payed a ton of gold or even money for.
I trimmed that quote to highlight the part I was rather alarmed by. Personally, I do not like the idea of someone paying – hopping to a winning server – and then feeling that they have a right to the rewards that have been hard won by the players on that server.
Transfers this late in the season shouldn’t give entitlement to anything imho.
Your world association is not determined based on the sheer amount of time you’ve spent fighting for a world, but rather the things you’ve achieved during your time fighting with that world.
Thank you for providing this information, Mark. Unfortunately, this is still too vague. In particular, “things you’ve achieved” does not explain much, and it still does not allow people to have a sense of their world association “progress” as it often appears they are simply stuck to their old world (even if they transferred within the first few days of the tournament).
Some questions:
What constitutes an “achievement” in this sense? Is it linked to event completions? Player kills? Badges earned? Dolyaks killed? Objectives captured? WvW ranks acquired? Character levels gained? Vistas viewed? Amount of critters killed?
Is your world association based on which world you accomplished the most “achievements” in? For instance, if you had 50 things achieved on world 1 and 51 achieved on world 2, would you be associated with world 2? Or does it take a relatively greater amount of “achievements” on a world you transfer to in order to deter transferring?
Are these “things you’ve achieved” linked to actual in-game achievements? Is it based on WvW achievements? Do things like daily and monthly achievements count?
Do non-WvW activities contribute to “things you’ve achieved” (i.e. PvE events)?
Does time spent on a server play any role at all, or is it only based on the “things you’ve acheived”?
Since it is not linked only (or at all) to time, does this imply that a person could theoretically transfer on the last day of the tournament have have their world association changed to the new world so long as the “things they’ve achieved” in that one day exceed the rest of the “things they’ve achieved” in all the previous weeks? Could someone technically have chosen to be inactive in WvW for the entire tournament and transfer near the end to a winning server, causing their world association to change because they achieved the most things on their new server?
If possible, helping to clarify some of the above points would likely be appreciated by people suffering from the “stuck with old world” situation. The intent here is simply to understand how the system is supposed to work since all the information provided so far is just too vague to really let players know what’s going on with their world association.

I’m not talking about JUST the end of season transfers, I mean anyone who moved. I think if someone payed gold or money to transfer, they deserve to know how to change their server association

I don’t know if this is a problem but I finished the meta on my old server, since it was very easy to finish. But I can assure you that I’ve played way more on my new server
Personaly i find it funny you should had stayed loyal to your server till the end of the tourny. if not then no reward for abandoning them.
But since its not my game and they said you can go to other servers.
I feel like they owe an explaination about it. So everyone has the ability to make a rightful decisions based on the facts and doesn’t get screwed over.
I’ve played in EOTM on the 2-week time after switching server, since it’s the only map I could then play at: does this count for the affiliation to ne or another server ( the one between, after transfer ? Or none) ?
a Anet person responded in a WvW thread, Iam baffled most be the quartely visit

This is a legit problem… I am having the same issue. Transferred with a bunch of friends 1 week after tourney started. Been playing heavily in new server and its still saying associated with my old server. Rest of my friends got associated with new server after they guessed 20 hours of play or so. 4 weeks later I’m still not getting the switch over. Completed the Meta + extra tourney achievements on the new server and still no go. (i believe only ones i did the first week on the old server were the JPs and maybe badge of honor spender?). This makes no sense to me whatsoever. If its not time spent, it surely isn’t how many achievements you have gotten on the server either. What gets me is how my buds got associated so quickly lol. It’s gotta be bugged
what i can see , we’re so many players with this problem so… i guess is a bug. I wish anet fix it. I recommend to everyone to send a ticket and keep spamming them with this bug .
Your world association is not determined based on the sheer amount of time you’ve spent fighting for a world, but rather the things you’ve achieved during your time fighting with that world.
How it should have been:
Your world association is not determined based on the sheer amount of time you’ve spent fighting for a world, but rather the lowest ranked world you’ve transferred to/from.
I started on Darkhaven and moved in the second week to HoD, and then to get all but 2 or 3 achievements done on the HoD server. Leaving only 2 left to finish.(Well Aren’t You Special, and Reactor Robber) But I’m still showing Darkhaven. Should i put a ticket or just wait?
Remember those people who transferred in season 1 and never got their rewards? I hope it doesn’t happen this time as well.
This time they will get a cute Troll Mini that will eat legendaries from their inventories.
GW2 BW2, the game of bandwagoners.
Desolation better get their kitten together. I want my rewards!
LOL! Cheeky bugger!
BTW .. give Shino a pat on the head for me!
(I have to know! In WvW, do Legendary NPCs drop Legendary loot?)

This statement is rather ambiguous. Do you mean actual achievements under the wvw panel/tournament panel? Or do you mean tower, keep, camp caps, kills etc?

I think the thing is bugged as hell, I can gurantee everyone I’ve played way more on my new server, and I am still associated with my old server, even after lots of tickets to have a look into this I still just get ignored and left in the cold, I might try to get a refund on my server transfer cost if I don’t get switched over anytime soon

Unless we receive specifics about how world association is determined the best thing you can do is live in wvw and try to contribute as much as possible. Who knows, you might warm to your new server ^__^
Devona’s Rest [OHai][GloB]
In season 1, you only get the reward based on the server you’ve been in before the season.
In season 2, they claimed to have a slightly different system, but I believe won’t be that much different from season 1.
I think you’re stuck with what you got now.
I’d say it’s too late now, you should have made your mind prior to season start. Now you act more like a typical fair weather transferers, and no-one sympathize people like that.

I’m not asking for any sympathy, they simply advertised something that isn’t working as intended
“Your world association will be based on your participation throughout the tournament. If you play on multiple worlds during the tournament, the world you represented the most will be the one with which you are associated. We are adding a new Battle Historian NPC to all the WvW maps who will tell you which world you are associated with.”
Quoted from the blog post
It is working as intended. Quit begging for a free world association change and work for it. You have 13 days left to go get it.
Your world association is not determined based on the sheer amount of time you’ve spent fighting for a world, but rather the things you’ve achieved during your time fighting with that world.
Is it only tournament-specific achievements, or is it any achievement points earned while in WvW/EoTM that count toward your server affiliation?

No one is begging for a free change. We just want specifics as to how it works and how us, as players, should spend our time in order to get something that we want. All we want is some specific communication from the devs and not ambiguous statements. I spent 2400 gems on a transfer, they at least owe me the information that should already be public.

WvW Tournament Spring 2014 achievement metas…
for example, if you completed 12 of the metas, and did 8/12 on NSP, then transferred to JQ after the first week of the tournament and did 4/12 there, you world association will still be NSP…

ok, how is the correct one ?

This is obviously not working as intended in my eyes.
Played the first week of the tournament on Drakkar-Lake, completed the Meta-Achievement there (because almost every passionate WvW-Player got the meta in a few days), transfered to Piken-Square and I am still associated with Drakkar-Lake.
I can share the opinion of the most people here. I am playing WvW a few hours every day. This is just not working properly.

But there is nothing as clear as this in the information we got

Same, I was on SoR and completed the meta in about the first week but got sick of there being only like 10 people combined on all maps. Was nearly unplayable (actually looking back it was a miracle I completed the meta so quickly).
After 2 weeks of effectively no WvW I transferred to TC and have been playing there ever since. If its based on WXP earned or caps or points earned I’m way over on TC. If its meta unlocks achieved then I’m SOL because I finished the majority on SOR.
TBH, if that’s how it works then its quite misleading how the explanation was provided and what the battle historian tells you. I still would have transferred because SOR was a complete graveyard but it annoys me that because I WvW religiously I’m going to be cut from rewards.
So after having sent 3 tickets I finally got response to one sent 2 weeks ago.
My question titled [WvW World Association]:
I have transfered during season 2 after 1 week.
I have been locked out for 2 weeks and have now been playing for a longer amount of weeks on my new server. I am still associated to my old server (on which I played 1 week). How is it possible that I’m still associated to my old server when I have contributed way more to my new server? How does the world association work?
Answer:
Thank you for contacting the Guild Wars 2 Support Team.
When a player transfers to a different world, he will only be able to play in the Edge of the Mists WvW map for the duration of their current and subsequent matchup. This may take up to 2 weeks.
Hope this information was helpful, If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again.
Regards,
[DUDE]
Guild Wars 2 Support Team
I myself have read my question over and over, trying to get HOW one goes from world association to WvW lockout.
It might just be me mentionning “How long will the lock out take” over and over in the ticket, I mean that obviously WAS my question…
On a serious note, I DID expect that my question would be vaguely answered like OPs question, but I did NOT expect this. There’s a subtle and vague approach, but common this is just plain kittened…
A little honesty won’t harm nobody, I wonder why they even bother calling it customer SUPPORT…
Gandara [EU] – Old & returning player
just saying…. ive got all but 3 of the completed tourney achievements (last tier for dolyaks and world ranks, then reactor robber is like 30/x who knows) . still shows I’m on my old server. 1 week after tourney started, paid gems (IRL money) to transfer, and nothing yet. this includes completing a loooot of daily achievements as well as the meta achievements on current server. only ones i fully completed on my old one were the 1 tier achievements. jps/ (maybe badges?)/entering the tournament. I doubt anything will be looked at for this bug now. glad i made the transfer regardless of not getting the rewards, but its kind of crappy to spend the all but a week+ lockout playing on a server to win and do well and still be tied to the other server that ends up tanking. oh well, no mist skin. paid 10 dollars too late
