Guild Wars 2

I’m on Dragonbrand for a year now and when I first started DB was very active in WvW. Now, many of the WvW guilds have moved to TC, JQ, BG, SoS. I really enjoy WvW and I’m tired of joining a DB map with noone in it. The problem I’m having though is if I move to one of the top servers will it be worth it? Right now if I want to go to WvW it take 10sec to get in, but in top servers it will take hours to que into one, there fore defeating the purpose of moving to a WvW server. Do I stay in DB where occasionally a zerg will be in WvW or move and then have to hope my lotto number is called to get in WvW?

Move to tier 1 servers.

Some thoughts from a T1 server player…

On reset night the queues are ridiculous, this Friday I waited for over 2 hours to get in a borderlands map. I don’t even try for EB anymore. During the week the queues aren’t bad, maybe a 1/2 hr at the most.

But I am fully expecting queues to go around the clock when leagues hit. Players will get in and not leave until they dc or drop from exhaustion.

I’d just like to make a note of one thing that I think people aren’t considering when they transfer to stacked worlds. You will not, repeat will not, be able to receive the reward based on overall world place in the league, unless you achieve the meta achievement for the season. If you aren’t able to get into WvW much, you won’t get the rewards. So it is absolutely taking a risk to transfer to a world that has a large WvW population.

Anet has made this a zerg or be zerged game. This company better pray Elder Scrolls pvp sucks or this game can go buh-bye. ANEt does not deserve to keep us as customers.

I had the same problem. Found myself on a low tier WvW server because I didn’t realise that high population didn’t mean high WvW population.

I tried to stick with it because it costs real money to transfer and I felt a bit of ‘loyalty’ to the complete strangers in the server. Eventually the sheer incompetence of the players and the back-biting that went on drove me to change.

I moved to a server ranked mid-high (6 ish) in the WvW ratings and my world changed. They knew how to play.
Unfortunately, we got better and now are in the top tier. Queues are long – sometimes an hour or more but It’s worth it. When I do get in I have a lot of fun. Much more than before.

If you enjoy waiting in line for 4 hours so that you can smash your 1 key repeatedly because any other action is unresponsive from sever resource bottlenecking, then Tier 1 is the place for you!

Transfer its what anet wants you to do, may even wanna wait to the last day and stack on the server who will be top of silver or bronze league. You will probably be playing right next to devon on NSP, although from the way he handles the balancing of wvw I don’t think he plays much anyways.

Did you notice how NSP was put into the bottom tier for this matchup? Hmmm. Coincidence or making sure they are in the bronze league?
