Splash damage is an important funtion for catapults and trebuchets, it allows sneaky and strategic, sometimes ingenious, placement to apply pressure to enemies. If they removed splash damage, that siege would often be put in very vulnerable positions and rendered useless very quickly. Reducing the aoe to 1 wall would just allow enemies to keep repairing the wall/gate forever, combine that with the slow rate of fire and it would take forever to bring one wall down, being able to hit more then 1 wall at a time is an important tactic to supply drain the enemy and apply more pressure, effectively giving them a reason not to repair because it will just be damaged and the supply will be wasted.

The splash damage is insane as it is now, you shoot 50m behind the wall and the wall go down, i can buy like 5-10% damage to wall/gate Close to were the rock hit, but if the rock totaly miss so it hits infront or behind the wall then 0damage, have SS home were you se its like 1m free room between ram when it is as long forward as it gose and gate and still gate take damage, catapults that shoot and hit 5-10m under wall on the rock and the wall take damage and so on.
50 meters? That’s a joke, or you don’t understand exactly how large a distance 50m is.
Ofc i exaggerate abit but still when it go over the wall even if its only 1m it should do 0 damage, the rock will move away from the wall not against it when it past the wall.
That Beauvoir is as stuped as it is that the one on the ground next to the wall have a advantage then the one ontop off the wall.

Finaly i remembered the ss i had for this:
The first is a Catapult hitting 5m infront off wall, 2 is a treb hitting between 2 walls and ofc damage both, 3 is a ram that its imposble it can hit the gate.

The ram placement is annoying as hell for defenders imo.
