Well that depends entirely on the suggestions =P
Their skill balancing never seems to get us out of the boring meta they have created.

That would involve nerfing the kitten out of all the HoT power creep. They won’t do that until they are ready to drop the next expansion which will likely start the cycle all over again.

Wvw is still attached to pve, so don’t get hyped over this. We’re lucky they toned down boon sharing last time, but the pve players think they broke revenants and it’s wvw’s fault. How much of “don’t peeve pve players” will go into their future balance decisions, I guess we’ll see on tuesday.
As I stated in that thread also, it’s not going to matter much if they’re not going to touch the bloated boon/condition systems from HoT that turned combat into absolute kitten.

- All HoT AoE skills and traits are changed to single targeted in order to reduce skill lag.
- Resistance is no longer a boon but an effect which does not stack duration.
- Stealth no longer stacks duration.

As an Engineer main I haven’t been excited for a balance update since the big trait rework which was cool till the honey moon period wore off..Then began the slow process of the balance devs removing Engineers from the game one balance update a time.

Fixed some tooltips, maybe arbitrary numbers changes to some kits to change the PvE speedclear meta to make it look like they’re keeping busy.
Until they do major reworks to everything HoT and most of the core game, we’re not ever seeing improvement.

I will be happy so long as they address the carry devourer meta that is plaguing wvw.
The last skill patch was woefully bad, they just changed a few timers around on some skills/traits. It didnt really feel like much changed, how did this take months to come up with? Some skills/traits simply need to be rewritten, the skills/traits themselves have core problems which means they will never see use.
Engineer med kit is a good example, outside of some RPG guild that want to re-enact a scene from ER in a tavern fantasy setting wtf is the point of this skill? It has been terrible for years. Not to mention the useless traits that never see use, some classes have very limited scope for builds.
Im sure it will be the usual garbage. Condi chronos and Zerkers were under performing in some PvE aspects. We have reduced the headbutt timer to 12 seconds and increased dmg from Arc Divider and given all shatters an extra stack of confusion and torment.
The black moa pet’s daze cone AoE has been reduced as we feel it gave too much CC to the Ranger class. To counter balance this the Black Moa will receive an extra 100 hp’s making it tougher to focus down in combat.

I’m still skeptical because he was so vague about LWS3E4. What he “leaked” was a combination of information that was already available and information that a lot of people were already guessing anyhow, so that isn’t good enough for me to believe that he actually had leaked information. If he was right about the balance changes though then I’ll believe he is a legitimate source for leaks

The stuff about rev getting alacrity is in the second link, the first link has the other details.
They can do both if they simply redo icd to be per player and not per trigger. This would let on x effect also gives y effect to hit mass number in wvw and still keep the y effect from becoming a perms effect in small numbers. This needs to be done for all non sigil icd and for effects that have no icd as is. I am thinking Entangle needs to have an goblet icd per person to keep perma entangle from happening but it should be something you can land on more then one person at a time. That and every thing on ele like blinding ash.

Well if it’s true, they’ll probably just change Pinpoint Distribution to adding a flat 150 condition damage so Engies personal condition damage won’t increase all that much (on average).
The group stat share passives are the only ones that don’t bother me too much, the “get hit once and become invincible and shoot fireballs out of your kitten ” passive traits bother me.

We feel guardian is in a good place right now but lacks damage in PvE so our aim is to buff underused skills and open up it’s damage within PvE while offering support.
Wave of Wrath: increased it’s damage by 150% in all game modes.
Symbol of swiftness: increased damage by 150% in all game modes.
Empower: reduced the cool down to 10s.
Symbol of blades: increased the damage by 50% in all game modes.
Zealots defense: increased damage by 30% in all game modes.
Renewed focus: reduced the cool down by 30s in PvE and WvW.
Puncture shot: increased damage by 25% in all game modes.
Monk’s focus: increased fury duration to 10s and base healing by 500.
Smite conditions: increased damage by 50% in all game modes.
Pure of sight: now 10% and 20% respectively.

Me too. I’m extremely apprehensive about skill balancing because it always results in nerfs that make me furious. And I can read through the “double talk” by devs when they’ve nerf’d something very badly. I keep a sharp eye out for the word “normalized.”
There’s very few nerfs that I actually think would be appropriate, but are never addressed.
Thief dodges now grant 5sec of Determined.
Burns now tick 25% faster.

- all clones and phantamns has their health pool increased in 500%
- clones and phantoms damage increased in a 50%
- trait Alls well that ends well make all wells to apply 5 stacks of confusion per pulse additionally.
- Trait chronophantasma create an additional phantasm each time one clone is shattered.
- confusion and torment does 30% more damage conditions ticks 50% faster when Mesmer equip a sword.
- Gain 12 seconds distorsión when under 50% health.

They seems to have problems figure out what makes spec op. Like engineer shield nerf. Scrapper was op and they nerf shield. Pistol/shield Engineer was kitten before and now it’s totally kitten.

- Epidemic skill: Now unblockable.
- All damage conditions will now stack up to 1500 times.
- Epidemic: With the changes to condition stacking, Epidemic now only applies up to 25 stacks of any given condition. Increased recharge to 20 seconds.
- Siege weapons can now be affected by conditions and critical strikes. In addition, their base health has been doubled.
TBH the biggest complaint seemed to be that players finally learned to use Epidemic on a downed enemy killing those trying to revive. Like “damage on the downed” was never called before.
Not so much complaints about defenders having to worry about conditions near cannon/burning oil in addition to Meteor Showers.

Yeah but keep in mind conditions wasn’t as powerful or plentiful back in the day as it is now.
Not that I think it needs a nerf either way, but combat has changed since HoT.

I would probably die laughing if Anet came out with something like “the situation with epidemic was examined and it was determined that you all need to calm down and play better”.
*Edit, to be clear I amn’t coming down on one side or the other of this particular issue and I have zero interest in engaging in a discussion about it right now. I just know that after the balance patches there’s usually an awful lot of “this was kitten, still no sign of them balancing by following my own personal suggestions to the letter” and I’d find it karmically satisfying to see Anet say “your suggestion was looked at, and it’s terrible.”
