Skill lag!
It’s only going to get worse when culling is removed.
from my experience today it has gotten worse already. I’m starting to get to the point where WvW isn’t fun anymore. And all of this before the culling fix which arena net has said nothing about how it will effect server lag.

Probably not. Culling will be client side, skill lag is server side.
A fix for skill lag in the works? I love going into a fight and standing there doing nothing except spam my #1 over and over…
It’s seriously starting to get annoying.
Split Choo in 2 and it won’t be as bad :P

We already did

Might go the opposite way, actually, since they’ll be off loading a lot of the server side graphics handling onto the client now (hence why you will be able to control how its presented).

It’s pretty clear that you don’t understand the basic mechanisms at work here. Culling is done server-side, and while it also reduces the rendering that the client needs to perform, culling was primarily instituted to reduce the load on the game engine and the required server in/out bandwidth. When ANet turns culling off ALL that load goes back on the server. ANet is probably trying to mitigate the impact by giving players more options on what the game engine needs to tell the client (i.e., rendering options), they may have purchased more bandwidth, they may be using some better compression algorithms to reduce the bytes that need to be transmitted to the client, and they may have improved how the game engine itself handles all that data. BUT, culling and lag are absolutely not independent topics and there is every possibility in the world that ANet doesn’t get it right when they turn off culling … and that means lag, maybe even more of it.

Ok im not the only one who has noticed culling and lag being worse tonite.
Its so bad ill be 1v1 stomping then 10 guys appear and insta gib. I dont see them til they are almost in melee range.
Skill lagg indeed ^^ I wasn’t even able to move earlier. I saw my character running in place, sometimes he warped a bit, then he appeared back on the spot where he was earlier and then I got hit by a zerg x-i
Also skills not reacting for about 10 seconds.
Ya lag was terrible last night. Even when no one was around I was having trouble getting skills off. It also looked like the dalyaks were having a tough time with the lag. The would just stop for like 10 seconds sometimes on the road for no reason, no one around.

nope tier 2 was a nightmare my fps would go from 40 to 5 then 20 then 3 but throughout the entire gameplay and not only when facing a group of players and when we ran into a zerg i couldn’t even autoattack.

I was doing my daily outside of WvW (I was in Cursed Shore) for a while last night right around reset since we had queues for WvW. I was killing a mob when all of a sudden all of my abilities just froze. The client was still functional like it is for a while just before you get DC’d back to the character select screen (also a far too common occurrence lately), so I just walked my character around waiting for the inevitable DC (which never came). Literally ten seconds later everything popped back to live … the mob was dead and I was standing back where I had attacked it.
Incredible …

I just see casting skills as a added challange when there is skill lag …Seriously though, instead of being over dramatic about the skill lag like so many are , think about the fact that the other side is having the same problem which evens it out so no one has a advantage because of the skill lag. Im sure Anet is looking into it and will be working on a fix asap … until then, just take it the way it is and stop getting frustrated about it. Looks like a lot of people these days have a attitude like this: I WANT IT, AND I WANT IT RIGHT NOW !!!! … patience is hard to find it seems

You are the one with the wrong attitude. First off, skill delay is getting worst. I dont know why, i just know it is. And thats a bad sign, especially when we are close to the point where Anet opens the floodgates and we have no idea how culling is going to impact it. Better? Worst? Better is good, worst would make WvW essentially unplayable.
Secondly, skill delay can completely ruin your game. And you’re telling us we need to just sit back and patiently wait without complaining untill this gets fixed and we can get back to properly playing the game?
Thats a very anti-consumer attitude you got there. No one here is demanding an over-night fix. But this is a very serious issue and people are making noise over it, they should and have every right to complain because the product they got isnt working properly.
I had never seen this before until last night. It does seem to be getting worse. I was in huge WvW zerg battles this weekend and did not notice this, but last night we had a couple of zerg battles in the center of Stonemist, and everyone on our team was unable to use any skills. The other zerg seemed to have no such problems as their AoE was decimating us while we could not even heal.
