If kills in GvG didn’t count towards kill-counts and totals, nobody would care. They would still do it anyway. Thus the exchange or gain of kills is not the intent or purpose of it. Your point is moot.

Trade killing is when one side stands still and dies for the other side, then the other side does the same.
If you watch the video, both sides were trying to defeat each other.
This is not trade killing.

because downed state is a thing. they can be ressed. i’d be in favor of no ressing downed in gvgs. downed = dead.

but because anet is a bunch of geniuses you have to finished downed to win the rally game.

Is there a problem with GvG in WvW map? Yes, whether the OP was or not is irrelevant, this could be used as a way to farm rank points between 2 guilds. Ergo I have no issue with his method but his angle could of been more professional.

edit: If you are getting kills from this then you are artificially increasing your WvW rank and should be stopped.

For those complaining about GvG:

I run one of the largest WvW guilds on IoJ, and most of the people in this GvG are leaders within not only the guild, but our WvW community. When I made [CORE], I was completely uninterested in GvG, but after getting matchups where we win by 200k points or lose by 200k points, WvW was getting to feel like a chore. GvG started looking much more attractive as a form of competitive PvP, so we started practicing it with a few other guilds.

So, on a week where 90% of our server doesn’t show up to WvW and we are getting completely stomped, how is this hurting anyone? We went to an empty map on a Thursday when the matchup was 100% decided. Even if we got everyone on all maps of WvW together, we couldn’t have queued that map. So we were not taking up precious “slots” for a queue.

Some of you will say, “Why not do it in an sPvP arena?” First off, you can only do 10v10’s there. Secondly, the sPvP maps are horrible for open combat (everything is around corners, corridors, etc). Also, in sPvP you are forced into using an amulet + gemstone for your stats. I don’t know about others, but I personally don’t like being forced into using highly specialized builds by using only 1 set of armor / trinkets.

The thing is, my guild was there playing WvW last week when most others dodged. We organize WvW events, are active in our WvW sub-community, and still play horribly lopsided matchups like this. It seems to me that most of the guilds that do GvG are the ones that also organize and drive WvW in their respective servers. So cut us some slack, because overall, we have a much more positive impact on WvW throughout a week than a negative impact caused by us taking up a few slots on a map for 30-60 minutes.

These three are also definitions of trading. And I would say all those three fits GvG quite well.

So according to you people fighting anywhere in WvW not on an objective is kill trading? In other words, PvP is kill trading to you in this game. How much is Anet paying you to not use your brain for the last 14 months?

SBI had 1 karma train going. Like I said, this was a Thursday night where not much was happening. You may have had a queue on 1 map at that time, but I sincerely doubt the BL we did the GvG on was queued.

Typically if a map is queued or there was something actually going on, we would go to another borderland.

Some of you guys are really ridiculous.

There is no trade, no side want to lose each guild fight to win, same way when we fight for keeps or in open battlefield. So there is not any validation of COD.

Would be if one side agreed to get killed and that way farm some points to other team.

btw by period of time as GvG is going on that players earn less WXP like they do in open WvW so is not profit if WxP matter after all because true PvP players dont give shiet about points they play this game to have good fights.

is it not trading karma/wxp when a dominating server allows the weaker servers to recap stuff and hen storms in to retake it so they get their wxp?that happens too. but gvg is sooo much wxp trading right. c’mon guys u have all been part of the karma trains.
my guild doesent do gvg and we are out there to fight for our server every day, but i think gvg is a great thing and also great training for the guilds and all the guilds in wvw that do gvg, are also part of the rest of wvw and cap and defend and all that.

• 1. Roamers = Kill traders. (they don’t place any siege and don’t take any structure and don’t participate in siege warfare)
• 2. Roaming small guilds = Kill traders (small guild like mine never take any structure – even supply camps and never place siege – we simply kill enemy small raids)
• 3. Roaming Guild Raids = Kill traders (i’ve seen Guild raids with up to 25+ people roaming the maps without taking any structure or placing any siege – and only killing enemy zerg in open field – like gvgers)
• 4. Roaming zergs that farm enemy zergs = MASS Kill traders. (i’ve seen a EB queue size zerg roaming whole day without taking any structure or placing any siege.When i asked what they do the answer was – we farm lootbgas since it’s faster and easier than PvE farm for gold.)

Non of those groups i’ve mentioned is playing WvW by the rules – Siege warfare so they’re all KILL TRADERS.

I love you ANET and support 100% your anti-GvG actions.

Considering how little they care about WvWvW, do you really think they’re going to let you enjoy GvG for what it’s worth? Once you break out of that mindset that deludes you into that mindset, you’ll realise you’re wasting your time even bothering with this. Sad, but it’s just how it is.

I agree to a certain extent, they could have picked a nicer tone to start with, asking him kindly to move out of the way and stop interfering etc.

With that said, as an employee of a company you should never act like that towards your customers, and I know for a fact that if this was me doing something similar I would have gotten the sack as soon as my supervisors got hold of it.
