I can farm rank points anytime I want; all I have to do is get my guild grouped up and go blob-hunting. And since when can a losing server not get WXP?
Have you even karma trained? The dominant server trains through EB, doesn’t defend stuff, and lets it flip. The lower servers flip things repeatedly. It is often a nonverbal agreement of, “Hey, this matchup sucks. We may as well just flip things and get something out of it”. That seems commonly accepted, but somehow the tiny amount of WXP you get from a GvG is “kill trading”.
There is a lot of standing around in GvG’s, and even if you were to get tags on everyone, we are only looking at 1-2k WXP points in an hour. I can go take a keep and tower to get more WXP than that.

This implies that the employee was fully aware of what he was doing. Notice how he didn’t go for the other people standing by and watching. Oh no… he went and started messing with the other group, then went back to the other group to gloat.
He’s also an employee. If an employee goes and does something, goes up to the customer and gloats about it… and then customer gets upset… do to you do you continue to pick a fight with them and make your company look even worse? No. You would almost certainly get fired for that.
That is what happened here.

Every lvl 80 monkey knows what gvg is nowadays, especially those who wear Anet tags. His purpose of standing there was to troll, which he even confirmed.

GvG in GW1 was fun, but those " gvg battles" are ruining WvW (queues,points, ect..). Dont understand why Anet dont give GvG’ers an empty grass field to spam their 1 and make dubstep video.
Anet’s good reputation is at stake here. :/ Wish their employees would fix the bugs and do their jobs rather than disrupting their customers from playing the game.
When players act out their displeasure at the lack of certain game modes (cough GvG) by making their own ghetto version, the correct response is to look at why people aren’t playing the modes that you are offering and either improve those modes or start offering the modes that clearly have demand.
Anet went with “shut down this new mode and hope they play our other modes that we are not going to change”, can’t imagine anything good coming from people who think like that.

Also – the developer was right, if these guys wanted to pvp so much, they could go to spvp and not use the wvw area for that (they are using the spots of players taht would actually like to play wvw but cant’ due to the queue)… It’s lame that you guys complain about a staff member just because he was trying to do his work..

Server councils know this well, especially in good tiers with stable communities – you make COMPROMISES to your players; so they can do their thing, be it gvg, group roaming, ppt, because you want that community to stay in your server. Else, they will leave for a different world of whom will cater their needs.
There is a deeper working behind the lines of competitive WVW (at least when it was still competitive).
It’s not just if a, then b. else, c. Not d.
The best defenders of a bl are those who do GVG since they actually have skill to fight bigger numbers of whom just rely on very limited tactics.
Open field fighting – gvgs- are a means to train these other than guild raids.
Strategically and tactically – gvg’s are the basics of what wvw is.
WvW has a limited amount of slots and there may have been a queue of players waiting to get in.
If there was no queue, then there is no reason for him to complain.
So?? They made www place where you can do anything you want. You can frigging sit in spawn and craft if you want, score doesn’t mean kitten, rewards are kitten, you can’t even see after match which guilds did well and so on. Why we would have any motivation play game how anet want it to be played?

As much as I can see, its the developer who started it when he has absolutely no reason to do so. If they want people to GvG in sPvP, they should fix the stupid game mode up, allow more than a 10v10, allow more build diversity than a lame amulet, and create better maps. If the staff member was keen on doing his work…he’d be spending the time DOING his work than standing around and trolling players.

Have you seen the video yet? The flaming on the part of the players was because of an act of deliberate provocation on the part of the dev. That’s not excusable no matter how you spin it.
The only thing I know about GvG is, that it was one of the best game modes of GW1. Of course the WvW is not a perfect place for GvG, but I can understand the community’s desperate attempt to get some kind of eSport feeling in this casual-based MMO.
Not taking care of griefing issues is one thing, but telling people ingame how they have to play “their” game is another…

WvW is still not meant to be played like that – I’m trying to explain why i understand his point of view. WvW players complain about people doing the jp in that areas, because they want as many fighters on the line.
I mean really, stop dramatizing. The dev didn’t do anything wrong in particular – And one more thing – i’m a player – I’ve seen the screenshots and the comments and this is my opinion. Don’t try to convince me otherwise and stop trying to convince people in your own belief if they have their own opinion in this matter. If you have a problem with a dev, call the company, not the people that are completely happy with it.

He was instructing them to “go nuts” while also telling them it’s “violating” his “game mode”. Basically, banned if they do… banned if they dont!
Queue and taking slots is not any argument but point where Anet fail by not increase map capacity or adding more borders for tiers where population on WvW is overload
If so call Golden league have 5 borders and like 2 EB more players could participate in WvW without get frustrated when they get stuck in queue.

We have a wonderful matchmaking system that enabled a server to dominate and demoralize the other 2 servers while also ticking at above 500 but stuff those guys. They should not be allowed to make their own fun because there are people that want to play wvw on that specific BL when the others will most likely be free. Yeah, totally.
The only toxic behavior is from people who don’t think ANET can do anything wrong, especially when they haven’t been doing anything RIGHT with WvW (save the map revamp I guess, yes ONLY the revamp cos the bloodlust buff is stupid).

You guys cheating wvw 1000’s of times with Gvg’s that are not supposed to happen there. They still haven’t stopped/banned you for it. Be gratefull. A lot of games would not be that kind. This is not fanboyism btw. I played other games. Where i had similar issues wanting to play the game like i wanted it, but the devs disagreed. And they completely inserted countermeasures, so it wasn’t even possible to be stubborn and still do what you want. I do agree that the situation could have been handled better by the players, but what was the need to pull out the ANet tag? He could have said whatever he wanted when nobody knew he was an ANet rep. He used his ANet tag to non-verbally intimidate the other players, which in my opinion, is extremely unprofessional and childlike.

The problem is people in GvG BELIEVE to be the only skilled people who know game mechanisms and playstyle. Always made me laugh hard and I always troll on battlefield these said GvG guilds when they get kitten hard. These GvG players achieve nothing and don’t play anyway better than guilds involved in WvW: basicly GvG is a more simple mode for newbies.
Solution for GvG is so easy one server one empty map without orbs and with option to guest there in WvW and everyone is happy, guilds do rest. We don’t need ranking as we have all ready one we don’t need organization or fancy tool just map.
Guys if you don’t like GvG support it sooner we get gvg map sooner you will not see guilds in borderlands doing GvG and you can cap stuff all day long
