Hey I would like to say a big thank you to the team…

I have played this game mostly in WvW for 3 years now, I have been apart of some great communities, some great moments and even better fights with my enemies.

As a WvW player, I was never great with farming gold as opposed to your average PvE player, which led me to buying Gems weekly/fortnightly to support my sieging, commanding, upgrading and build crafting addictions… After time, this actually became a very nasty habit…

I would find myself, having gold, items, food and everything I need, but still putting $50 or more into your game a fortnight, just to save for maybe a weapon skin or something… After a while I acquired most of the skins I needed/wanted.

So what else to spend money on… I know!!! Character slots!

So for a while there, the only thing I did was grind PvP for tomes, the moment I hit 60 tomes I would put some money into the gem store for 25 transmutation charges, character slot, a bag slot, convert the rest to gold to buy gear, food, sigils and runes.

I repeated this process until I got to 17 characters.

Now HoT has released…..

All 17 characters need to learn Elites otherwise I’m sub-par on the field and will die a lot… I manage to get 2 done…. In this whole time, 2.

Naturally I have given up, abandoned WvW all together and now reside in PvP on a messy but even playing field (in terms of class mechanics unlocks)…

With all your changes, you have actually made buying character slots and spending money on the gem store as a WvW player a punishable action. I have never aqquired more than 60 tomes, but now I have a full stack + more to give you an idea.

So here is my thankyou.

I thank you for my new Blackwidow Chroma keyboard I purchased yesterday on Boxing day sales, that money I saved over the last 2 months was a real eye opener on how much time, energy and effort I have spent in vain with this game.

Same for me, but i have made one mistake and this was buying the expansion collectors edition, i could even spare more money. But this fault i will never make again. So i learned something and therefore thanks A-Net.

I don’t believe that i am going to right this, especially ME being the guy who has complained A LOOOOOT on the forum during the 2 first months.

Well for starters all you complaints WERE valid at a point.They are not anymore.
See a few weeks ago, the number of ways to gain gold in the games were really reduced (basically just doing over and over the meta events in maguma. Anet has noticed that and took care of it.
So if before expension, people gained gold in dungeons and avoided fractals (3H of fractals for like 2 gold), now dungeons are for leveling and fractals are a (really really) quick and yet fun way of earning gold.

The 17 characters and the elite
I understand that you spend a lot of time levling up your characters. And you are angry about the time waist that is creating an elite (which could have been less boring than a repetitive 250 hp grind. I mean they could have worked on some lore for those new classes) BUT:
You have 17 characters and yet there are only 9 classes. So instead of working twice on an elite for each class, do it just one per class. Why on earth would you go thu all this trouble to have 2 dragonhunter, 2 reaper…
Than, When it comes to gaining those 250 HP, it’s long the first time, and maybe the second time. But when you have the maguma masteries it would only take you 1h30.
What i did was put on a little netflix on the ipad and mindlessly grind for 1H30.

I strongly advise you not to by gems for gold.

I am actually restarting in WvW. So i haven’t had time to notice the aspects of it that made everyone complain. Nevertheless. Anet has made many post concerning the fact that there are going to be many changes (you can learn more about it here https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/World-vs-World-Holiday-Sneak-Peek/page/11#post5882673)

kitten , if someone told me that i would right this 20 days ago, i would’ve never believed it. But, since the latest patches has made my PVE and PVP experience awesome, i’m a happy player

10+ Years playing Guild Wars. It’s good to be able to break a habit of gaming that is useless time spent earning something that has no tangible value in real life imho.

I bought a new game today. First time I bought a new game in 2,5 years.

Same. Just bought Fallout 4, and it’s actually fun. No more grinding for stuff I don’t need on content I don’t enjoy! Thanks A-Net, for giving me the motivation to get off the grinding treadmill that GW2 has become!

At the HoT release me and my mississ booked 4 days of holidays just to play the game (the hype was real). Now we have a long shutdown so my plan was to play ’till collapse.

Instead we logged in 4 times during December.

How many gold rings did you get on reboot?

Hung up my Mudding days many…many years ago, and will soon need to retire from GW2 based on the trend that WvW is going.

It’s not as fun anymore.

The New WvW tastes horrible imho.

They can have New WvW for all I care.

I still prefer Classic WvW & will retire when the time comes.

Spent way too much time waiting for the Reboot for Gold Rings in our old Diku Mud days…but at least there was going to be a reboot.

The 3D Diku Mud that we dreamed about became a reality.

The next frontier that I dreamed about back then…was to create the next SuperBowl of eSport…which ANet will sadly miss getting it right…imho.

Sorry, but I’m not giving away things. I stopped playing GW1, but I still logon to peek every so often. I’ll probably do the same for GW2 out of nostalgia. Good try though…never hurts to ask.

Few new PvP oriented games that are coming out around the corner. They may not be as RvR oriented as GW2 is, or as polished, but any change is better than none right now. My guild will be taking a break in one of those games (NCSoft game, you guys should know what it is :P) since WvW has been going down the gutter after HoT release.

I bought, Don’t Starve: Shipwrecked, Wolf Among Us and Tales from the Borderlands. Still debating a few other things. Definitely haven’t been playing as much GW2 this month.

In case you still need your elite specs , I find it is better off to just use teleport to friend and then join a hero point train in heart of thorns maps. Usually there are mesmers to portal you if you do not have the bouncing mushroom or updraft mastery.
