The lag in this game is something unbeliable
What’s even more unbelievable, is that with the claim from Gaile that WvW is receiving unprecedented communication from the devs, that we’ve not heard from them on this new wave of lag! Oh wait, sorry, that is believable.

When it’s more than just a hand-full of people on one server, but instead a whole load of people on different servers, in different countries, then no, it’s not our connection. It’s anet’s servers.
Wait … so you’re saying that different people from all over the world can’t have lag issues to a game server, especially in the face of people that don’t, and that’s something to do with Anet’s side, not the players? WoW!!! Those game servers sure are selective on who they lag on ….

this makes no sense to me at all
Just as quick reminder: The lag in this game as soon as two zergs fight each other is something worrying.
When one of the zergs abuse of the condi meta is impossible to play. We have to stop playing because the game is just not responding.
In such a game like this, where quick reactions matter the most there is no place for the lag, not by any circumstance.
Whatever the reason is: Anet should fix this, this could be the same as if you when to check your email took 30 minutes to get the new email. It is unacceptable.
As i said: The reason of this is from Anet’s part, and most probably on how the net protocols and game mechanics are designed. If you develop a game where the server has to handle that amount of traffic: Not only the player actions but also the effects potency (healing or conditions) needs a very developed structure.
Most probably an interface done in Erlang in an atom equivalent for a server is not going to cut it.
So please, if someone at Anet read this: With all the other issues in game this one i think is very important, at least for WvW.
Remember the PING in this game is the FULL circuit of information. It still can be your information route.

Remember some ISP’s DO THROTTLE DATA, so make sure your ISP is not one of them.
Also check out this pingplot I did today – one server in line with the NCSoft gateway is having ~70% PL (packet loss) – that would affect the game immensely.
