It was the fact that PvE masteries are not in WvW but they should add it to WvW masteries. But they have the functionality ingame just make another WvW mastery line just for it.

Sad part is it cannot be that difficult for the developers to use the existing mastery or create a new WvW one. Code is mostly done just needs the interface and switch.

I dunno to me its just a reflection of the lack of resources for WvW even now when its supposedly a priority.

The autoloot is essentially a macro anyway, so why not let us use one for the time being to do this task?

This may have been already answered but does anet have any intention of adding autoloot to WvW? It seems like it’s the one place where autoloot should have been added.
I thought this as well. I didn’t understand their decision to not make it apply there.
The game needs more options. Buy I don’t have enough hero points anyway to do anything anyway so all that exp is wasted. So I play less now.

However this means when a new Mastery ability is created, that might also be useful in another gamemode, it doesn’t automatically crossover.

I really cannot see why this would be difficult to include in WvW or why it was causing issues to begin with.
All that is needed is in the section of code that makes the loot bag appear, you place a check in before it appears to add it immediately to inventory instead of making it appear, its not hard.
I’d suggest making all WvW loot drop in (new) WvW loot bags which are affected by MF, would save much inventory space also, since even 10 slots could store 2500 of them and then you could improve the loot or adjust it easily.
Is there just 1 guy working at anet or?…. I thought they were a team – how hard could this be to fix?

Earn it? Why would you make common sense game feature something to be earned?
Loot bags on the ground:
1. there’s a chance that you miss the reward you’ve earned.
2. uninteresting F-key spam when killing enemies in hectic fight.
3. there’s a chance that you press F to loot but instead activate another item (banner etc.) on your location, causing frustration to player.
4. when you get a kill using siege weapon you have to stop using the siege weapon to pick up lootbag.
5. sparkling loot bag on the ground is unnecessary drain on performance.
Loot bag on inventory:
1. convenient reward for kill that you’ve earned.
2. none of the above issues.
3. player can focus their attention fully to playing and not worrying about getting lootbags.

It´s just a small change that won´t hurt anybody and won´t provide any real advantage. I am not asking for gliding all over WvW, just want to focus on fighting not if I am missing some loot from if I die battling or was too focused smashing keyboard to survive.

However, The OTHER issue is not just HoT, but a PvE issue. If you could obtain Auto loot in WvW ( maybe a reward track or something the like) rather than being forced to go PvE to do so, that would be better. WvW should be a self sustaining game mode, not forcing a player to ever step foot in PVE to be competitive.
That was what set GW1 apart from other games was being able to just PvP if you wanted to without grinding PvE. WvW should be treated the same as well, just treated as a large scale PvP self sustaining game mode if they wish to improve the population of it.

That reasoning is consistent with…. zero aspects of HoT.
Guild hall grinds, specialization grinds that are far stronger than base classes, ascended grinds, grinds for stats only available in pve content.
But but, not letting people have a QoL feature in light of all of this ensures a level playing field. I really weep for humanity if anyone can say that with a straight face and sleep soundly at night. Nor do I conflate skill with having to fight with a bad interface.
It has always been the case that playing PvE will give an advantage entering WvW; not it’s even more pronounced.
If that is legitimately a train of thought, it needs to be scrapped because there is 0 relation to it and reality.
Just put autoloot in WvW already. Either make it baseline so everyone has it, or so that WvW Xp contributes to Tyria masteries. Everything else is just an exercise in being an apologist.

keybind auto-loot to shift.. easier to spam shift with your pinkie. this way you can still use your other fingers to spam your skills. i got much better at skill spamming since i changed mine to shift key :P

Masteries are for pve only. Last I recall they were looking at a way to add auto loot into wvw.. My guess is it will come with the overhaul as if they try to make any changes to current wvw it will probably break something else. Took them 4 months to remove drakes that were contesting green keep..

No. They’ve stated they want it to be a reward for doing something in WvW, rather than PvE. I guess we’re getting a reworked Mastery system. I wonder what will happen to the current ranks.
If you have a naga mouse, Bind it to the 11 or 12 button. It isn’t so bad then, but agreed Anet failed big time with no wvw mastery system or even another “ability” to allocate wxp ranks on…..
What you shouldn’t do – change that map later to weapon swap (working through this muscle memory issue now)
One could rebind the key to “K” and spam with a middle finger instead.
I bind both loot and skill 1 to the same mouse button. Works for me
Give me autoloot with masteries for WvW now, and add a secondary way to acquire the ability through WvW means only later.

We know the feature exists and could easily work in WvW. We know WvW masteries have been around longer than PvE ones. How ANet could have created an entirely new mastery for PvE and simply did not copy the same one into WvW is annoying to say the least. Some features may be more difficult to program than the look but this one is right there… sitting on the feature self… has almost all the work already done.

i was so angry after grinding pve just to get it. and then find out it doesn’t work in wvw, that was the whole point. i actually bought HoT just to use that feature in wvw.
I get why the mentor tag would be dumb, but autoloot should still work. Also add gliders and glider siege weapons and anti air.
We should get the same 2 skills from gliding like the new Shatt fight. That should turn things around!!!
