Srsly, just a few moments ago I was engaging a thief, near Lost Prayer, I had him, but somehow he managed to level up, hitting 100% of life and I got launched away; I was figthing him alone, no1 else was there, NPC included, so the only explanation is that he used 1 of those Tomes to get away from me…

Now, I know that Anet tends to a forgive battle system, with downed and everything, but isn’t that a little too much?

He may also have hit something before, that was now finally killed by other people or he repaired something and the defense event finished just now or trebbed a wall and the conquest just happened or ….

There are enough possibilities to get exp quite a while after action.

Bug-Fixes

Updated the Tome of Knowledge item to once again be usable in WvW and dungeons, but it can no longer be used while defeated, downed, or in combat.

He may had gained xp from a tower/supply camp/sentry he hit a some minutes before.

This is a known exploit of the tomes. They will fully rez you as long as you are not dead and work in both in PvE as well as WvW. Is it cheezy, yup, absolutely but according to what I’ve read, it’s within the scope of the rules. Check the release notes for Winters Day, one of the follow up patches was to correct a bug that prohibited the use of the tome in WvW…..

Well, sure hope so, but EVEN so, the whole Level Up mechanism is broken, getting full restored in a 1v1 fight way go beyond fight system, or maybe I’m overacting becuse it only happen once? -_-
