Ok so now that the WvW seasons have kicked off, skill lag as been unbearable and my server (Blackgate) are ever-so disrespectful to any opposing server we face, not to mention we’re the zergiest of the zergy servers (Without any question). I’m frankly quite tired of the same waiting in queue for 2 hours in queue, only to zerg and have 50v2 fights over a tower then say how easy it was then get wiped by anything remotely close to our numbers. So i’m thinking about transferring to a lower tier server (NSP or GoM). I recall reading somewhere that if i transfer I wont get the WvW season meta-achievment for the server i’m currently playing on. Is this true? And is transferrign to med/low pop. severs still free? Any additional facts (if there are any) about the season achievment would be appreciated

It isn’t free anymore, 500 gems cost. I don’t know about about the meta-achievement, I’m sorry.

If you transfer and you’ve already participated in WvW, the stuff you get at season’s end will be tied to the results of the server you started on, not whichever server you’ll be playing on after transfer.

For the current season, whatever server you started on will be where your reward comes from, yes. The question is, is waiting in queue for 2hrs every day for seven weeks worth it OR would you rather be playing in WvW during that time?

Btw if you do transfer, come to NSP. We need the guilds/people/resources and actually have some good people; our numbers are just low. Our Fridays (change days) are usually the only time we even see a queue for ANY BL. Last Friday it was our own while all others were fine.

Be warned though, unless we get some good numbers we’ll likely be facerolled for the next seven weeks.

Went to low pop when transfer was free, didn’t like it since there was no opposition, yet the lag was horrible, payed 500 gems to go back ..

$$ more money for anet! yey!

Well, seeing as the “add said to medium or low” and all the server pops I see are “high, very high, of full” then what medium server would there be? Seemed like more of a troll sale then a real one.

On the topic. You’ll lag almost the same in low tier as in higher leagues because matchups somehow affect each other (same server or network load). You’ll just find less people to lag with.

Same can be said for Darkhaven if you’re looking for a new server. We just have a bit less numbers overall then NSP (and SF who we’re currently fighting and being out numbered by).

Sounds like a win win for you. You will get the reward still when blackgate wins 1st 2nd or 3rd which they will. Also you will get to play on a server where you can actually play and not queue. There is one catch. There are no low or medium population servers. Our server devona’s rest is the second lowest wvw population server next to anvil rock and were still considered a high population server so it cost like 800 gems to transfer here. So nobody is ever gonna come to our server so we will stay second to last. .

GoM would welcome you with open arms.
We have a strong WvW community. Some guilds have come to GoM, some have transfered, but the core remains, players I’ve played with for over a year now. Common dedicated TS and website goes without saying.

With the Season 1, our focus on WvW is renewed, we see old players coming back with a vengeance and interest rising again for WvW on the server.

Respect, good coordination, and some pretty sweet fights ahead :-)

NSP has quality roamers and efficient/organized guilds groups. I’d recommend you help them out. First time I ran into them in recent memory they hammer trained our reset zerg into smithereens without hardly dropping their pace. I’d love to see them succeed in silver league with some padded coverage.

In the bronze tier I’m sure DH and GoM have their charms and quality people. I’ve had the privilege of meeting/fighting quite a few. I can’t, however, seem to muster sympathy for servers that blot out the landscape with red names as far I can see as they talk of how they’ve fallen on hard times. Call me petty if you must, I won’t argue.

ET seems to be a rising star as they’ve become more organized.

Ferg has strong presence and field large numbers while at the same time being home to my favorite rival guild. <3 you Yarr. HoD has a pretty strong position as well.

AR has some scrappy fighters and could surely use a hand given their current lot.

I’m not even sure why Kaineng is here, though I won’t claim to know their recent history. I’ll put SF in the same camp, don’t know an awful lot about them, but there are always more of them than there are of me

As for Devona’s, we have some solid roamers and a number of quality smaller guilds. Our primary issues are that the only guilds that field large numbers are PvX in nature, if the matchup doesn’t suit their tastes they’ll simple occupy themselves elsewhere. The upgrade/siege/defend culture has eroded over time due to widening coverage gaps and morale spirals out of control as fairweathers lose hope. Give us a small victory and we are suddenly competitive, but without it swords are turned to plowshares.

You will get whatever league result Blackgate gets.

However you can get the meta-achievement on whatever server you transfer to. You need to get the Meta-achievement in order to get the prize for the league win.

Ironically, I reckon quite a few “T1” people may have trouble getting the meta-achievement because of the queues. So transferring out of BG may be a smart move.

We’ve had one large guild transfer to SoS today because of queue issues.
