Hei Anet comon whats up with that bullkitten? This troll warriors who runs like Usain bolt and 6 Guys cant chatch them? Pls regulate this its stupid right now to play as a roamer.This class can do every thing,this is unfair unbalanced.they have highest Def/HP and can resete every fight so.
Also with Thief,two shadowsteps and with shortbow,25 % movespeed i cant catch these guys,what the hell?
Pls adjust the range from warriors charge skill this is to much!

I’ll actually respond to this, becuase i am also a thief, running full travelers runes, shadowstep, signet of agility, and the shortbow shadowshot, and there is NOTHING you can do you catch/kill some of these warriors. Either you literally cannot keep up with them, or you barely manage to and they just shrug off the few hits you manage to land while fighting at a full out sprint. What happened to the core notion that a thief was supposed to have some actual mobility?

Thieves are just as mobile as Warriors. Stop complaining.

yeah its not only this to kill these guys.I see more and more who runs this build only to kill you or to try when you attack a guard or fighting an other enemy.And when they cant kill you they reset the fight to easily and heals up.This class has so much HP/Def,Heavy plate and can outrun every other class? oO Where is here the logic?

People should educate themselves before they type. Warriors have been the fastest class since release, maintaining perma swiftness with only warhorn/elite signet. Throw in sword and gs as well as bulls charge. I implore you to try and catch a warrior that doesn’t want to be caught.

Did you read the rest? Or just the first sentence? GS/sword warriors are terrible for dueling. You sacrifice a lot for that mobility.

Mobile doesn’t necessarily mean fastest. Thief is still the most mobile through dodges, teleports, rolls, etc. Warrior just has fast cross-map speed.

I agree, they do 0 damage in duel, but can easily take camps or kill dolyak… And there is nothing you can do about it, apart camping 24/24 in the camp. I’ve met a Usain Warrior while i was protecting a dolyak, he managed to kill it in like 15 sec, then leave with less than 10% hp left. And goodbye. reset, and do it again !

Mobility should be a privilege for light and medium armor… Heavy is heavy !

yeah still the warrior can flee combat too easily for a heavy armor class, but i guess it will be way to hard for anet to adjust that without hurting the warriors combat abilities.

I play a warrior and even I think it’s ridiculous that the heaviest, highest HP class is also the most mobile.

I’m a thief running this, and warriors are pretty easy to chase down. However, any other class I can lock down and kill within a 1500 range distance from start to stomp, and warrior quadruple that distance with their escape power.

Yeah but you’d think a warrior would have more stamina to move like that. Thief being more of a sprinter, with warrior running the marathon. So you get super high mobility thieves over short distances, much more than a warrior initially, but warrior faster on long distances. Seems fine to me.

It is true that you’ve “beat” these warriors when they run, but is it fun to win like this?

You cannot argue against those facts, because you are simply wrong.

You also need to understand that mobility and land speed are not the same thing.

Mobility:
- Shadowstep
- Dodge roll
- Stealth
- Flanking Strike (thief S/D)

These are things that cause quick and erratic movement whenever you want, wherever you want. They also hamper enemy melee severely, also causes the player to lose focus on you. Thieves do this the best.

Land speed:
- Swiftness (Or speed signet/trait where applicable)
- Leaps
- Charges
- (Insert an obvious one I probably forgot)

These are for covering distance only, either to get to a target, or run from a target. They always go in a straight line, and take time to get from Point A to Point B, which is very obviously telegraphed (Susceptible to daze/stun). Warriors do this the best.

You need to remember that mobility and land speed are completely different things.

Also, thieves complaining about another class resetting a fight? You honestly cannot be serious, because that’s just stupid.

A well timed Headshot or two (or scorpion wire), when these types of warriors use Savage Leap or Rush, will be their death, considering most warriors with this weapon set up will attempt to disengage at low health, it is easily predictable, so get your interrupts ready.

Sword/Warhorn + GS also sacrifices a lot of damage.:
- Rush misses its target 98.1337% of the time. (This skill is broken, the only use it serves is to run from fights and across the map)
- Sword Burst, does terrible damage outside of condition builds.
- GS Burst, no one uses this, EVER. It is garbage. (So the warriors class mechanic is essentially being wasted with this weapon set up)
- Savage Leap rarely hits, it might bring you near the target, dealing damage/cripple is purely luck.
- No real CC. (Only Immobilize from sword burst, and Leg Specialist (If the trait is picked))

Remember.. leaps and charges are always well telegraphed. Shadowsteps are never telegraphed. Players will always lose direct focus when fighting a thief, but never against a warrior, because warriors cannot stealth themselves, or instantly teleport, you can ALWAYS keep your eyes on them.

I was thinking about this and I came to recall that Ride the Lightning for the Elementalist received a nerf of sorts for this kind of thing right?

If I remember correct Elementalist had Ride the Lightning changed so that the cool down on the ability increased if it does not hit a target? Now i’ve never really played a Warrior but would a similar nerf to some of their skills solve this problem without to much fuss?

Thank you for putting it so well, I think most people will be able to understand now.

It also counters ranged attacks on multiple levels, but one is because the game over-compensates for thief movement skills, and sends your projectiles off into the middle of nowhere. For example, I can channel a killshot on a thief, and if he hearseekers at the right time, laterally, my shot will fly off no-where close to the thief.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the warrior’s land speed… as Have No Faith In Me astutely pointed out, land speed does not in any way shape or form equate to combat mobility. As a warrior, if I want to cover distance fast, I do the S/W + GS combo. When I run into a class that manages to stop me using this though, there’s literally no way to fight my way out of the situation because I’m a one trick pony. GS damage can be mitigated by taking one step sideways or backwards, sword is terrible and warhorn doesn’t do damage.

Also, thieves calling out a warrior for resetting a fight? Pot, meet kettle… you guys are absolutely the WORST for this. It’s the dumbest mechanic in the history of the internet.

Met a warrior last week while I was on my Guardian, 3 times he disengaged to heal and there was nothing I could do about it. However I did not die until his thief friend showed up. So cry me a river.

If warrior gets mobility nerfed then I want stealth because thieves can stealth but warriors cant wtf? Mesmer has clones and not warrior?? The game most be unbalanced… and why the ranger has a pet ? It like fighting 2 people , looks unfair to me. I don’t know about you, but I think warriors are completely ridiculous. I run a D/D or S/D Elementalist with about 3000 attack, 3000 armor, and 23k health. Whenever I try to fight a warrior, they either deal insane amounts of damage to me while shruging off nearly all of my attacks or they run away to the point of no return.

My issue with this is it seems to me that they can have good damage, while having good defense, health regeneration, and speed.

So this is what happens with a warrior in most cases when I meet one: they attack you and deal intense damage, your attacks do nothing. If you somehow manage to get one low on health, they run away until they’re fully healed and then fight you again. This time they manage to get you low on health, you try to escape and there is absolutely no hope unless you have stealth and/or infinite cc. It’s extremely unfair in my opinion. I mean, why do they get to have all these nice things simultaneously? Why can’t I have nice things! (Lol. Quote from Fairly Odd Parents)

Warriors are the best class in this game, best at PvE/ good at PvP.

No build in this game can have mobility/landspeed/tankiness/dps/healingsignet/good cc all in one build. But warriors can. Thief should have good mobility because if they get caught they are pretty much kittened. If warriors get caught " oh here is endure pain". Condi class? berserker stance " yeah your condis arent doing kitten, here is some cc necro get kittened". Oh kitten im going down? shield 5 —- leap on sword – switch to gs 3 and 5 and bulls charge to finish it off. No can catch that. Im not saying its impossible to kill a warrior in fact most of their skills are pretty easy to dodge in 1 v 1 scenario but when they kittening start to run after you get them to 20-30% hp and while they are running they are regening HP is kittened. If the range was less i would be much happier. I’m not saying they are in the wrong for running but running to the point where they can get ooc in less then 4s is broken in wvw open field.

This is the most sane answer. I know it’s just a game but a full plate should never outrun something as lightweighted as a thief. Bad design right there.

Warriors right now have the same disengaging power as d/d eles pre nerf, but with like triple hp and armor. Considering that, I don’t see how warriors will escape the nerf hammer

so now that we’ve gotten THAT out of the way

“yeah but the warrior actually accomplishes nothing so you ‘win’!!!!” well aside from how people have already pointed out they can pull this after soloing camps and killing dolyak’s, this is a videogame, not real life. I don’t know about you but when I’m trying to kill digital polygons on a computer screen the moral high road argument that is “he ran away he did accomplished nothing” doesn’t make me feel any better how the fact that warriors can do this has wasted my time and taken away a potential kill. The only way I’ve taken these “Usain Bolt” warriors down as they try to run from me on my guardian is by using judge’s intervention and signet of wrath (and the scepter 3 skill sometimes), and that’s 2 utility slots i’d rather not waste when im trying to satisfy my nerdrage by killing the warrior who just ganked the dolyak i was trying to run

It’s not so much the resetting the fights that bothers me, but the fact that they have healing signet, high armor, high health, and can keep points contested. Thieves reset fights just as easily, but the problem is that thieves can’t hold points while in stealth.

I’ve tried to cap a camp just to have a greatsword warrior show up and run around inside the circle for 5 minutes, keeping the circle up while the guards respawn/reinforcements arrive. Takes about 10 guys to stack enough dps/stuns/immobilize to force him out of the circle, where he usually escapes anyway.

In fact, there’s this one especially troll-y greatsword warrior on BP who’s done this to me numerous times. You know who you are!

Traited Steal 1.5k range, Shadow Step 1.2k range, Infiltrator’s Signet 900 range, Infiltrator’s Strike 600 range, Infiltrator’s Arrow 900 range; spammable, Heartseeker 450 range; spammable. Besides Hearteeker, all of these can be used while rooted and cripple has no effect.

But pls, tell uneducated me how Thieves aren’t as mobile as Warriors. Before you type wall of text bs about how no one runs these, remember that GS/Sw/Wh is only made to fly across the map too.
