What WvW additions you want in Xpac?
What xpac? For all we know its just over hyped for the new living season.. Until its official I’d rather not get my hopes up and comment on what I’d like to see..
If we’re talking about additions that are only for the people who’ve bought the expansion then I wouldn’t want anything besides cosmetics. WvW’s population is already dwindling because of ANet’s inaction with it, so there’s no sense in segregating the community more with expansion only things.
In terms of cosmetics though, maybe something that gives a unique appearance to the siege you put down or the projectiles/effects you cast when using a piece of siege.
Dealing with hackers/exploiters/cheaters and trolls.

New WvW maps that correspond with the espansions theme would be nice. Perhaps even matching siege weapons to go with it.

Siege engines used to be built locally, not transported from way off to the intended target.
Presumably (s)he means that if the map you’re on has been made to have a jungle theme, you’d see braided vines instead of ropes on your treb, and thick green wood.
If you’re on a desert-themed map, the wood would look bleached and of a different sort.
That kind of thing – they mean map-specific skins for siege to keep things thematically consistent.
I see, so we are talking about having the siege itself appear to have a thematic skin to match the maps skin. Seems like it could be a bit of dev time needed to accomplish that, but since the game is all about skins, I guess I would have to support this idea. As long as the maps are the same, terrain wise, and only have different looks, I see it as a good change.

Double transfer costs to any server ranked above the player’s current server, halve it to any server below them. Transfers to the lowest ranked server each week are always free.
White swords behave differently depending on the tier you’re in. Bronze = instant white swords as they used to be, silver = delayed white swords as they are now, gold = no white swords.
Similarly, have orange swords also scaling by tier. Bronze = 10 people, Silver = 20 people, Gold = 30 people.
Remove EoTM as an overflow option and alternate it with EBG every second week in regular WvW. The new overflow option would be to send the player to the T8 server of their colour.
Lower total map player capacity across the board, just enough to force zergs to break into smaller groups to be able to cover everything they want to hold.
Finally, have Anet actually take hacking/cheating/exploiting seriously.

+1, except that I’d prefer that white swords proc based on how your server is currently doing in the match i.e. third place = instant white swords, second place = delayed white swords and first place = no white swords, in the interest of promoting closer matches by handicapping those in the lead and giving a little boost to those who are trailing.

Liked most of your post, also Rimmy’s suggested changes. But I just wanted to point out how much I liked/hated this idea. On one hand it would be fantastic, and would completely shake up T7/8, on the other hand those of us that has come to love the quiet roaming, it would get all kinds of icky to find 200 T1 players running around doing stuff…
Really on the fence… It would practically mean that T7 and 8 swapped places each week.

1. The ability system has potential
>> expand existing abilities to T10 (only the two Guard ones have that)
>> add new defensive ones (the current ones emphasize offensive abilities too much)

2. Supply chain

4. “Rewards” for guilds claiming

9. Skins and Items

Those tracks need a serious, realistic revamp

Anything less than an entire revamp of WvW will not be enough for me. Same old crap it has been since release, can’t believe anyone still plays it personally.
What do you mean by “matching siege”?
Siege that are not exactly the same as we have now. The Elona theme for instance was a bit African like and after that demon/insane like. I would love to have that in the map and everything that goes with it.

They couldn’t remove the AOE 5-target limit. Their servers wouldn’t cope with it.
Wanted lot of thing but now i only want them to finally nail in the last last nail into this coffin and get over whit wvw.
Only thing we shall get is disappointment and more ppl leaving. Lot of ppl are hoping that this will bring in some miracle to wvw but it wont bring anything.

The could pay for a better server service then. If ESO can do 60 AoE cap with 1000 players on a map GW2 should be able to do the same with 5 times less players and maps 10 times smaller.

AoE limit removal would make the combat better, because now small groups (<5) can still be hit by everyone who attacks them, but they can’t retaliate on everyone who’s attacking them, thus making small groups a lot less effective than big ones. So Aoe Cap removal will kill a lot of zergs.

Anything would be better than the current state of the dwindling WvW community.
AoE cap is also a balancing factor, so messing to much with it can ruin a lot of class usability.
There is also an upper ceiling to how much you can improve a server, compared to how much you’re limited by other factors, like bandwidth, lag etc. If you’ve experienced lag or slow reactions in the game as is now, then removing the AoE cap could potentially make that much much worse. And that is something you simply can’t make a statement on without sitting on the numbers and data that ANet has.

People still play ESO? God that game sucked. Three months of my gaming life I will never get back.

It will kill your group too. If they were to remove the aoe cap, they’d have to get rid of the retaliation boon. Its annoying as it is and would be an amazing change to the game.

You’re forgetting retal. Even with AoE caps on zerker eles and necros get messed up on aoeing clumps that have retal going. And once you factor in all the traits and runes that punish people for hitting that person, it might be better to be more tactical. lol

It’s not only about the server hardware, but the code that is actually running on the server. Let’s put a worst case scenario for an example. Say you have all 3 servers, run into the same blob fight, of about 90 people each server. So, you would have to make 270 checks for 1 AoE, now, what if all 270 cast AoE at the same time? See how it can get out of control?

I just reinstalled the game the other day after a few months. I came to the Fourms to see if anything had changed. It hasn’t.
The same issues that were being discussed before I left are still being discussed. In fact its the same issues that have been discussed since launch.
I went into WvW last night and yes it is just as boring as when I left. And even less people were playing. I may try reset night but I’ll probably uninstall again after that.
I simply responded to the OP’s query. After so long it is clear that they have no intention of changing WvW. So I stated that I will not be buying an expansion because of that. I don’t like the PvE. I don’t like the PvP. WvW was the only part that had promise but they dropped the ball on that.
If I were to directly answer the OP’s question and list all my additions it would be a very long post. I have posted many suggestions in the past. Anet is simply not willing to put the amount of resources into WvW that are needed to improve it. And I’ll bet anything that an expansion will not change that.
Edit. Sorry for being so salty. But I’ve been disappointed too many times.
There is one thing that could make me consider buying it. If they put Fort Aspenwood style battles in it. In fact, it would be awesome if they just copy/pasted Fort Aspenwood from GW1 into GW2.

I’m not assuming or expecting an expansion, but if Anet want ideas on how to improve WvW/EOTM, for starters they could give us new rewards for our badges of honor. I have almost 52k badges now, and I can’t say there’s many things I’d want to spend them on. It’s either cruddy skins (which cost 5-15 badges each – and hardly anyone uses them), basic siege blueprints, or unsalvageable exotic armor.
The rewards department is severely lacking, and I’d like to see some sort of WvW/EOTM permanent reward track, similar to sPvP’s one.
