What entails a dedicated WvWer
In the beginning commanders generally did most of the work bringing zergs to build siege, spending money to upgrade objectives, the scouts came later and mostly to help the tags out, there developed a bond between cmdrs and their scouts and dedenders. Anet didnt really begin rewarding this activity till much later and there are different levels of scouting. There have been on ocassion ppl paid to do nothing but sit in a tower and do norhing else. There are alot od scouts that do have hogh ranks but these are mostly roaming scouts. They will leve the nest to flip a camp, assist in the defense or recaap od a tower, flip an enemy camp amd emgage in small scale combat over owned camps. Not to say that both types arent helpful theyvare both incredibly helpful but Anet system does award inactivity as much as it does activity so I can see how there is suchba discrepemcy amomg roamers and scouts. The paryicipant status can be given to squad members and they will recieve rewards frombthe squad even of they are nowhere near the action. I woild say if you feel like you arent ranking fast enoigj for your wvw scouting defending efforts join squad and tell tag you woild like participant status.
Lol sorry typing on phone
A dedicated WvW is a player that spends most of their time in WvW. In particular those that play almost daily. It really isn’t any more complicated than that.
“Youre lips are movin and youre complaining about something thats wingeing.”
Maybe a person which did all of that. I for example am not playing since launch (a year later) and started with roaming then joined a wvw guild raided and scouted. Played a bit GVG focusparty when that was still a thing. Nowerdays im roaming again most of the time. If i would describe my wvw life in numbers it would be: 70% roaming(dueling), 25% zerging (pub+guild) and 5% scouting. I play on a bronze server and my rank is 3,7k.

The simplest definitions are often the best. No point saying beyond what you did.

In essence someone that enters for reasons other than strictly personal gain. Obvioisly preferred if it coincides with personal gain, of course
Small groups that forego loot and pull more than their own weight help carry are a good example.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.

If you click that little icon in the top bar, select a map, and it loads… you’re a WvW’er.

Lol no…real wvw’ers hit “b” .
This answer is going to be all over the board.
A dedicated WvWer in my definitions is simply someone who cares, they are motivated by that care. They care about WvW and its welfare and they devote a majority of thier time to it.
My definition is very open you will find more hardcore answers like
“Plays nothing but WvW is rank blah blah blha gets in TS and runs all the right gear”
However New people that have only been around a short time, can be dedicated in my book.

No wvw’er would do such a thing. The reason we dont click icon is because we could accidentally end up somewhere othere than wvw. Without “b” key we are lost.

But think about the bags!!! Every game I play its B!
EDIT: oh and I would so such a thing!
What!? its Inventory…“i” bags doesnt make any sense. Next thin you gonna tell me is that your inventory is all bags, boxes, and backpacks inwhich case “b” doesnt even have anything to do with those things….

I actually dont buy bags unless they start with a B… just on the personal ethics
Okay well if its a personal religious thing I can respect that. Maybe Anet could just move LA to the mists. That might be easier

No WvW’er would ever let anyone else tell them how to bind their keys.

A player that gear up for every game modes he plays, when WvW keeps are in danger, he will leave dungeons or raids or fotm to defend the keep. If sounds too hardcore, then sorry.
